I just wanted a reason to put Hank Scorpio in the thumbnail ok? The twitter I forget to use: / nerbit_13098 ko-fi.com/nerbit #Skyrim #Challenge #Gaming Music:www.purple-planet.com/
frost magic is super weak in general, nords, vampires, draugr, frost dragons and a lot of animals resist frost, plus there is a fuck ton of ones that are immune to it. only things that fire is not good against are flame atronarchs and dunmer, not really much of an issue. shock is the best destruction magic, only need to worry about storm atronarchs, which aren't an issue if you focus on the main quest as you usually never reach the level necessary for those to become common.
The 4 naked people is a random encounter where vampires or bandits have killed those 4 and have taken their gear to impersonate them. The vampires usually kill vigilants and the bandits kill faction members. Usually the 4 imposters are in some bushes nearby changing until you surprise them
The funny thing with that scene is: the 4 vampires have stolen the vigils cloths, but... when you kill the vampires they only have the vigils cloths, and no set of their own. Meaning the vampires must have all been naked when they found the vigils XD
@@robbiirvine1038 ok, I looked into it. If you have the dawnguard dlc, vampire squads will use invisibility in two scenarios. Engaging an ambush, and running away when low on health
Sorry it's been so long since the last Skyrim run, I had a run with a wooden sword I recorded back in November but the footage corrupted, it kinda put me off playing for a while lol
Hey, out of all curiosity are you planning to branch out into any new games, I like what you’re doing on your channel, but I really hope you don’t get stuck in only 5 different games.
The Battle of Whiterun bug actually has a fairly simple fix: Don't fast-travel back to Windhelm, walk/run/ride on horseback for the return trip. For some reason, the actual quest completion is tied to the soundtrack, so you need to give the battle music time to finish.
I just finally got up to the most powerful I've ever been. Trying to complete everything and I was so close. Last 3 quests and mercer didn't drop the key or eyes so I'm in a loop of drowning to my death. Last save was way back
Something of note, the dragons deal Magicka damage and their breath weapons use MP so if you hit them with enough Lightning magic they can't use their breath weapon.
Unfortunately not as useful as you would think. Much like stamina and power attacks only a bare minimum is needed as resources don’t have negative values and merely need to be regenerating. If your casting enough shock damage to impede spell casting odds are the raw damage is already near killing them. Still lightning storm winds the award for best anti-air spell in the game.
Can I give a tip about the Flames Spell? It's a bit late but instead of continually holding the Flames down use it in small bursts as the DOT is stacked on top of each other rather than one continuous stream.
I was gonna say the same thing. I love the flame spell. It does way more damage if you spray small bursts off and on repeatedly compared to a continuous stream.
Honestly, I would have switched to the Atronach stone for dragon fights. Yes it cuts down on your Magic’s regen, but dragon fire is classified as a spell affect, so the apprentice stone is making you weaker to it. But the Atronach stone would give you resistance and you’d lose the weakness.
The delphine bug is really common, the best way to fix it is to use console commands to equip a torch in her hand, once she does that she will function normally.
A fix that works for me more often than not is, before entering the temple proper (yknow, where the giant face door is), is to pickpocket the torch out of her inventory.
Don't forget if your at low or zero magicka but have something like the novice hood that increases base magicka, you can unequip and then reequip the item to instantly refill your magicka by however much the item buffs. So novice hood buffing magicka by 50 points means taking it on and off (especially with hotkey bindings) gives you effectively infinite maficka for lower cost spells
Also anyone else who has the Delphine not working in Alduin's wall area, you can add a torch to her left hand and then she unfreezes and the quest can resume. That's right, it softlocks because she doesn't have the torch to put in her hand to light the brazier. "It just works"
So this is the opposite of fallout? Because you DO want to set the world on fire instead of not wanting to, of course i have to mention my idea again cause it feels like tradition now. What about an alphabet run meaning every time you kill someone you have to go in order of the alphabet, assault carbine, brush gun, combat knife. Etc etc just an idea I thought could be fun Could even include the letter c being companion or f being fall damage if someone your fighting dies out of order you have to reload your save to before that person died no other rules really.
@@KodamaH2 ya can if ya want I just want nerbit to do it, because he's a really good creator and I feel like he's gonna get super popular out of nowhere.
In my recent magica playthrough, I discovered that the damage over time for the flame spell stacks for each cast, so spamming flames in many rapid bursts does way more damage for less magica, rather than holding it continuously.
The camp at the beginning where you find the Black Robes has one of the easiest ways to get a bit of cash in the beginning. One of the bandits will have a treasure map, and the treasure is across the river in a giant tree just ahead of Riverwood.
unofficial patch isn't really worth it. It """fixes""" the dumbest shit. Like any method of accessing any vendor chest, wearing hoods and circlets/masks, the fortify restoration loop glitch... There's miniscule edits that don't matter and then just patching out a lot of unnecessary stuff because cheating/exploiting in a single player game is immoral.
@@petercross1879 Then you haven't played New Vegas. It is fair to say that weird stuff happens but it's not the "lul saved by mods" bugfests that people say it is, aside from NV. There's a select few patches I use that make the games run a hell of a lot smoother with my dumb number of mods.
I admit I've watched this video several times. I enjoy the funny and witty commentary during the challenge. Although I'm mostly a Skyrim junky, I have watched your Fallout videos as well. They put a smile on my face. Keep up the good work.
Fun tip: 1) Unlock dual casting 2) Spam both mouse buttons at once with the flame spell 3) Profit The burn effect lasts about 2 sec after the end of the flame spell. If you use the toggle spell very fast, the burn stacks. If you toggled it 8 times during those 2 seconds, the enemy will burn for 8x the "normal" amount. This is much better dps than simply holding down the spell, also consumes less magica.
You should do only frostbite. It may do the extra stamina damage, but at least half of the enemies in the game, npcs included, are resistant to cold damage. It is skyrim, after all!
@@Skullhawk13 true, but the list of enemies which are immune to fire is extremely short and enemies that are immune to shock are extremely rare as it's, as far as I know, only the storm atronarch.
@@windhelmguard5295 I mean yeah, Frost is most common immunity in Skyrim, Shock is least common. I got anniversary edition tho so I got pay-to-win blast
With the Breton race, the Lord Stone, and Agent of Mara from the non-combat quest you pick up at Mara's temple in Riften, you can get a permanent 65% resistance to all magic damage for very little investment. No perk points, no gear, no consumables, just a nearly two-thirds magic damage resistance that's with you at all times.
Last time I played Skyrim, I finished the game as a sneaky mage. I first had in mind a stealth archer with a bound bow, but ended up using a custom flame aura spell - it "froze" a part of your mana, effectively reducing your maximum amount, but it worked permanently, dealing a little bit of damage in a small radius around my character. I just tweaked the radius a bit, and fun part - it didn't appear to affect my visibility unless I was currently casting it. So most of my fights were me sneaking around the site while everyone else burned to death. The fact my character stealthily glowed in the dark the whole time only added to the comedic effect. I think I used a conversion mod though, with major rebalances in skills and spells. Perkus maximus, was it? Quite recommend, only crashed my game when I tried to play as an arcane archer (i.e. the one with all kinds of magic arrows).
Surprisingly, trees are actually very fire resistant irl, they do controlled burns near where i live almost monthly to kill the underbrush, but the trees are fine. I'm sure that Bethesda totally thought about all that
16:15 I experienced that exact same glitch yesterday. A look into a reddit forum said that it has to be nighttime for her to light the torches. So I reloaded a save from before first entering the temple and set the game to about 11 pm. Then I entered the temple. It worked. It's insane how after all this time it never got fixed. Quick edit: I was playing on console so no console commands rip.
For flames, all you have to do is just hit em for like a split second, wait for the DOT to end, and then hit em again. It's the only way to really use the flame spell well
Con you beat skyrim as a whiterun guard? Can only use an Imperial sword, whiterun guard armor fur boots, and for the memes, can only heal with sweet rolls.
@@Skullhawk13 There is a significant portion of the Skyrim player base that believes burning targets take more damage. There is also a significant portion that believes you can stack the burn damage. Neither are true.
Whenever i use magic, i’m more fond of conjuration. Specifically the bound weapons. Bound weapons are somewhat worse than their physical counterparts, mainly the bow, but if you’re a conjuration mage you can crack skulls with a magic battleaxe
@@demomanchaos this is true, but they’re also good for whenever you’re stuck in prison and feel like going on a murder spree. A very niche situation to use them in, but the option is there. Specifically for a challenge run to only use bound weapons, could you do it? Obviously you could, but it would be fun i think Edit: to give a specific example of the whole “bounds weapons in prison” thing, they’re useful for one particular mission involving the forsworn in markarth, where you get thrown into the mine for life (or more accurately, till you escape). It is useful for when you have to kill a specific prisoner, or are just getting out.
@@Jynx9921 they do come standard with soul trap. If you ever need to fill soul gems you can do it that way, though the magic to do so and the shout are far better
"As useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle" is one I've never heard. Ive heard "Tits on a bull", "Screen door on a submarine" and "One legged man in an ass-kicking contest" (plus a few i aught not repeat) but not ashtray on a motorcycle. I love it
I’m more interested in Fallout honestly but your commentary and fun challenges still make this enjoyable to watch good job nerbit :) Edit: Stormcloak heroes assemble!
When I did a mage playthrough I essentially only used the flame and healing spells and was able to charge through and destroy everything without difficulty. Tougher enemies took longer but never really felt like much of a threat because you could heal while attacking and potions are very easy to come by. I had the same experience when I tried a melee build. The normal difficulty is so easy that you can run through most enemies with basically any build without hassle.
Honestly, the editing and proofreading for some 42k subs channel is amazing. After seeing some of your other videos, (even though you have taken some video formating concepts from other channels) this is still quite quality content. Take my subcribe and make some more stuff!
No joke though, flames is op early game. After you dump a few points into destruction it's basically just a flat damage bonus to any weapon you use. I like speccing for it in my "Paladin" playthroughs.
Should be pretty easy; Fortify Restoration Looping, then some potions of Fortify Destruction that give +183673042% destruction damage, and walk through all enemies.
Btw, the Atronach stone is much better than the Apprentice stone. Sure, the Magicka regen decrease sucks, but the 50 extra is a nice boon to somewhat offset this, also because it's percentage based so more magicka total = more magicka regen per second. But by FAR the best part of the stone is the magic absorb. It's SO powerful. You can completely absorb atronachs, dragon shouts, and lots of other things you wouldn't think would work. You can actually absorb your own summoned minions, which basically gives you infinite magicka because you usually absorb more than it takes to cast the spell.
As someone with few hundred hours on this game and never once finished it, this video really tells me why. You'd think that during those 11 years the game's been out, all bugs would have been fixed already. Finally, I caved in and stopped being a vanilla gamer and installed some mods to fix these bugs and glitches... Maybe I'll finally be able to actually finish the game. All my playthroughs have been cut short by some bugs. Either I couldn't resolve them or I just completely lost my interest and quitted or started a new game... So shameful to leave all bug fixes to the modders.
Those ice trolls in Labarynthian decimated me and gave me a hell of a fight. I had to trick them and go into a place they couldn't hit. Yet your in and out. Rip me 😂
On the bright side, the world didn't look worse off by the end, which is surprising, with all the burning you did. then again, you could put Tamriel in a microwave for an hour and the landscape wouldn't look any different.
Idea, can you beat Skyrim with a hired companion? If they die, you need to reload a save, and any “temporary” companions need to have their quest finished immediately.
I always do the civil war quest line to avoid the peace council, but also because you can’t become thane of Windhelm without finishing it as an imperial or taking Falkreath (iirc) as a Stormcloak. Also, if you want to buy Hjerim (along with the crime scene clean up service), that civil war progression is the service you have to do for the jarl before you can buy property in Windhelm. (Reasontosidewiththeimperials#35728: Solitude does not have mandatory military service as a requirement for buying a house.)
Okay out of everything I watched on this video the hired thugs going up the mountain to The graybeards leader baffles me I have never since I started this game when it came out has never gotten this holy crap.
The use of the set stage command is completely valid for the integrety of the run in my opininon. So many times I have been locked out of a quest line because a NPC wouldn't deliver their dialogue
Nerbit I love your position when it was time to capture Odahviing when you said that luckily you had completed the civil war quest line. That treaty is pretty annoying, albeit faster than an entire quest though lol. I did remember enjoying it a lot the first time I did it, having the round table with the empire and the stormcloaks. But the second, third, and tenth time were not fun anymore.
I have a suggestion; Ramsey Gordon run You can only use the fork and knife and everyone you kill has to be eaten with the ring of Namira You also have to wear the chefs set and play as a blonde nord.. You can same use the fire breathe shout to mimic cooking them but that parts up to you
This is how I went through skyrim for my first play through because flame spray was the most consistent dps and it actually chews through everyone. Lol
I would have recommended doing it with a high elf, not only are 50 extra magicka useful at any level for any build unless you go out of your way to not use magic but their highborn ability is arguably the single best racial skill in the game, with the only two that come close being the orc's berserker rage and the argonian histskin.
Before I watch this, yes it is possible. I beat the the main, mages college, dark brotherhood, dawnguard, and Dragonborn questlines only using flames because I didn’t know there were higher level spells
