I think the reason that works(apart from the second part, that's just gameplay logic.) Is that because they're all important members of the Brotherhood, I.E. people you don't disrespect by walking away when they're talking to you, they realize you don't know shit.
Okay, but what is more suspicious? Climbing around like you're a cat, just to avoid one conversation? Or a scribe not feeling up to it, and ignoring one of his supervisors accidentally? If the brotherhood is that paranoid that they open fire just because you aren't talking back, it's a surprise they're still even a functional faction.
@@darthnox8286 it's that you follow chain of command. A superior asks what you're doing, you answer. You can't just walk off. By proxy that theyre literally taught that at initation, of course they're gonna assume it's a intruder, cause nobody in the brotherhood would be stupid enough to do it. Also, again, the not being suspicious of somebody climbing around is gameplay logic, especially since it happens in Fallout 3, hell basically any game with a damn jump button or climbing.
The Outer Wilds when you steal Person who saw you: What do you think you’re doing? You: (Intimidate 17) Whatever I damn well please. PWSY: Okay. Edit:Outer Worlds
Radiation actually shoots high speed atoms crashing through things where they shred through the compound. It tears up radiation leading to errors in the DNA when it replicates. Similarly the radiation shoots little holes through the circuit board, essentially destroying it.
Nerbit is easily one of the most underrated gaming RU-vidrs out there. I would do questionable things to see a Nerbit/Mittensquad crossover video. Edit: This aged poorly.
neRbit IS eaSiLY ONE OF the Most UNderraTeD gAMING YoUtUBeRS OUT tHerE seriously, what do people expect when they make comments like these? a badge, a star, some sugar packets? get over yourselves..
The synths being damaged makes a lot of sense. High levels of radiation fries electronics, I learned this way back when I learned that radiation causes audio and video interference for recording devices
A good example of this is a certain photograph of the elephants foot. I’m pretty sure a lot of people already know what I’m talking about, but if you don’t, just look it up.
You have to remember: Gamma rounds aren't exactly the most common ammo type in existence, and you can ONLY get a lot of them from vendors and the Children of Atom. 30 rounds are a lot to find lying around when most of the time you're buying that many.
Well, seeing as how the courier mostly spawns inside cities, and how Skyrim has a little programming quirk that tenders you frozen for a second whenever you enter a new world space? My guess would be that such a run is impossible.
So during quarantine I actually did this for no reason out of boredom, you can get a feral ghoul to murder an atom child and just take the gun from the corpse
@@Chuked Assuming this still lets you put points into the SPECIAL stats, 100%. I did my first permadeath very hard run the other day, and it went smoother than I expected. Totally would have done survival but I like being able to fast travel.
My level 55 character is like a freaking tank against almost any enemy but those children of atom with gamma guns always manage to replace at least half of my health with rads.
@@laernulienlaernulienlaernu8953 well have you tried getting the experimental version of rad x from extracting viable blood samples from enemies for the optional radiant quest for the brotherhood of steel. It's slightly stronger
@@bipolingdaco1607 I just carry a couple of radaway at all times and use the decontamination arch every time I go back to my main settlement. Mutant hound chops are a favourite of mine also but no I haven't done the BOS side quest, I might give it a go.
Video idea: Can you beat fallout 4 with only the Wasteland Whisperer and Intimidation perks. Basically you can only kill enemies by pacifying some of them and commanding them to attack others Edit: I understand he’d probably have to use mods/console commands which I think would be totally acceptable given the challenge. The challenge is less about getting the perks and more about actually using them in combat
Can you beat Far Harbor without ever healing your radiation poisoning? I think it would be an interesing challenge due to the amount of ghouls, the fog and the children of atom
@@gewitterhund3164 Yes. Same with the Zeta Gun, which fires a different type of radiation that ghouls don't have a resistance to. You can attach them to any Legendary Gamma you find, and also mod them to shoot electricity, ensuring they will always do damage.
because of some of your videos i was actually convinced to get fallout 4, and now i'm like level 28 and have done practically nothing to further the main quest.
There is a guy on RU-vid (Paul on the channel "Skooled Zone") that does mostly Fallout 4 videos, with a long running series about interesting ways to build bases without using mods. He has not finished the main quest either.
@@steveisthecommissar4013 it took me until the end of 2017 to finish the Skyrim main quest. Bethesda games are just a giant sandbox to mess around with.
Glory does have other roles to play so her death is a tragic one in the playthrough. She is especially important when you meet Curie and help her become "human" by downloading her memories into the body of a Synth that Glory has been looking after.
Fun Fact: The realistic reason robots, and Synths would take so much damage from radiation, is because electronics really do not like high amounts of rads, creates holes in the electronics causing current leaks. So now you know, that or Bethesda screwed up something.
Should have done "Can You Beat Fallout 4 As A Child of Atom?", so only with the rags / zealot armor and no healing from stimpaks? I don't remember what rules they have but something along the lines of that.
You could theoretically make an exception for the Salvaged Assaultron Head. Whilst it is held in the hands of the Rust Devils, It deals 10 rads of damage to the user per Microfusion Cell. It holds 5 cells and fires what is basically a gimmicky Laser Musket blast. However, with the Ghoulish Perk and Rad Resistance, the gun becomes a reliable “heal you” weapon. It's basically a Child of Atom's wet dream
The armor would be the only issue, as they wear irradiated rags, and some have kitchen equipment tied to those rags. If he has Far Harbor, he can run to the Nucleus to get a Radium Rifle, and that hits HARD.
Just recently found your channel and it’s awesome man Also could you beat any of the Fallouts by becoming whoever you kill? For example you kill any humanoid, drop all your stuff, then pick up whatever they had, so on and so forth
Wouldn't work if you killed someone wearing power armor, and would be really annoying when you had to fight ferals. I like the idea, but it'd also be difficult when you kill a bunch of things in quick succession, or if you snipe someone from really far away. It has potential though. With some extra rules to polish it up, it could be a great video.
@@justinchamberlain129 yeah, it is a cool idea. I'm having trouble thinking of extra rules that would make it practical though. Like maybe you'd only change identities once per day, but then how do you decide which kill changes your identity? I don't know.
Normally, I would say "obviously you can beat the game with any weapon". But this was the first time that I was genuinely unsure. The Ghoul problem is a large hurdle, and the super mutants. (I thought robots as well, that surprised me, maybe it does ballistic damage as well.) Well played sir, well played.
I should note, the hazmat suit and power armor give you a lot of rad resistance. This means Kingsport lighthouse turns into "Bully the rad-dorks" since they cant do any damage to you. Then just lure them over to some mirelurks or the landmines out front.
Definitely more weapon specific play-throughs, or as certain faction characters using specific weapons and armour? Maybe something that focuses on weapon and armour crafting in NV/4?
The explosive perk working on the gama gun would make sense since the radiation would be caused by the subatomic explosions being caused presumably by the system of fission the gun would use. I know the above is word soup but there's a coherent train of thought in there some where.
Nerbit you’ve become one of my favorite youtubers and I look forward to every challenge video you put out. I discovered you when you were in the 10k sub range and you’ve continued to grow with every video. keep up the great content 💯
I would have probably made the same assumption, but looking back it makes a lot of sense that the synths are weak to radiation. It's kindof like a signal, and a strong one at that, i think it could mess up a few sensitive and most likely vital electronics inside
“Robots are resistant to rads.” Tell that to the gold silver and other metals in their fragile circuits. Lol maybe shooting neutrons at stuff might damage those.
Exactly, penetrator requires 9 percetion and generaly trivialises power armor but I'm not sure the Gamma gun work with this perk at all because penetrator don't work with explosions...
From what i understand because the gamma gun is set as an "Explosive" weapon it cant crit the cores. You can actually see him vats target the cores of a knight at one point and not kill it because it doesnt count. It has to be a nonexplosive projectile from a gun. Rocket launchers, fatmans, and grenades can hit the point on the knight but not actually trigger the weak point detonation. It prob works the same way
"this thing even damages ghouls!" well whaddayaknow. i literally chunked every one of these, because most every enemy type except humans are basically immune to radiation in the fallout universe, and lo and behold it turns out bethesda removed their immunities. Though i guess left it on ferals. still. interesting that they'd change that.
Dunno if it's been said/you have a rule against it, but... well, industrial purifiers produce an insane amount of purified water per day at settlements. If you build several, you can easily get 100-200/day, and can sell them for ~30 caps each.
There could actually be great, surprisingly scientifically accurate explanation why it does so much damage to the sentry bot. And that is, that radiation tends to get absorbed by larger mass, instead of just going trough.
Also I think the reason the gamma gun does more damage than it says it would in vats is because of the direct hit function. The blast from the radiation and the actual direct hit are different and it seems vats only shows the direct hit much like the fatman and the missile launcher. It would also explain why getting increased explosion damage increases the gamma gun's damage
Scrap all the stuff in sanctuary then make wood posts, they're in the wire fences section, they take one or two wood, take up very little space, and you can make a few hundred from scrapping sanctuary alone. Great way to legitimately rack up xp early.
Watching your videos made me want to replay fallout 4, and I’ve got like 600 hours playing this game between both my xbox and pc lol. Keep up the great work man
"For many players, Fallout 4 is their least favorite in the series." Probably because they never played Brotherhood of Steel, and blissfully forgot about 76.
I know why people hate 76, but I’d be lying if I didn’t put 200 hours in it this year. It’s genuinely been good fun, and isn’t close to as good as say, Vegas or 4, but I have had more fun than I like to admit. Especially rolling heavy weapons. You have any idea how fun it is to walk into a group event and just be this big hulking guy in enclave power armor with the explosive ammo mini gun? It just scratched an itch I have, and if you ever pick it up for cheap, you’ll at least have a little bit of fun. I can promise that.
@@SantaClaus-kk8zr my man, you speak points, and good ones at that. I love being a giant in Raider Waster/Marauder power armor approaching a giant foe ahead of the crowd of allies, one handing a Rocket strapped fuckin Cinder block on a stick, and having a melee battle while everyone is shooting at what you're fighting, not to mention when it's time to step out of my suit and go all out with a furious power fist and speed/jump enhancing mutations. All the while every player popping shots can see you clear as day looking like an anime main character throwing hands.
If you want an easy way to make money, make a Brahmin feeder and a scavenging station, assign a settler to the scavenging station and now you can craft Jet. However the easiest way to make money is to build water resources in settlements, they will produce purified water which can sell well, if you want the cheapest water source Vault 88 has a Vault-Tec water purifier which produces 100 water for the settlement
Now I don’t know if it’s a good idea or if anyone really cares. Can you beat fallout 4 with a pipe pistol? Rules are you can’t upgrade its receiver to increase damage nor can you make it automatic. Legendary pipe pistols are allowed however if they have a different receiver you either drop it or you go to a weapon workbench and turn it back to a standard receiver
Radiation flips data bits, meaning that a 0 will become a 1, and vice versa, obviously performing catastrophic damage against digital machines, making a clear oversight in Bethesda's game design actually realistic by sheer chance!
I love that you're first firearm weapon run and fallout 4 is the one weapon I have literally never used. Excluding Lorenzo's gun, but that was just for a little bit.
Honestly I could watch full streams or series of these things. I can imagine it would be great to watch you play through the whole game with some of these. Especially this one since it’s a good gun but a bit wacky.
On a related note: someone give me good mods to improve gunplay in New Vegas without changing the game TOO much, also to improve general movement clunkiness.
"To many fallout fans, the 4th is their least favourite" That sucks man... Fallout 4 was my first fallout game that made me fall in love with the series. If you ask me, F4 has plenty of RP to do and i think that that F4 is the best fallout game there is! I did play both New Vegas and F3 and i liked both of them. If you ask me which one i like better, New vegas or F4, i would say New Vegas because it had more guns, better story & dlc and also the weapon & armor condition system was a lot more fair in that game thanks to Jury Rigging! F76 ain't that bad now that it got some more story content like BoS update.
I recently did this same run, but before I did greentech genetics I went and did the Cabot house quest line and let me tell you the leap in power was magnificent. With the artifact gun you can kill BOS power armor guys with 5 shots. Still had a lot of problems sourcing ammo though.
Yep. BOS is BOS and has a blimp. Minutemen have Preston Garvey. Institute has guns that are inexplicably worse than the normal laser guns, robots, and teleportation. Railroad has a mass produced version of a D.I.Y weapon in Fallout 3, I guess.
@@insomniagobrrr5542 BoS: u dont want to be an enemy of power armor troops, join and get one of power armors for free! Minuteman: HEY ANOTHER SETTLEMENT... Institute: we r like an enclave and we got robots with teleportation! Railroad: pls dont kill us with ur pipe pistot, ur too powerful!
the only fallout game i have played is fallout 4 and i personally love it just because there is less roleplayablity doesnt mean i cant commit mass genocide whenever i feel like it
4's endings were the worst part of it. Logically, only Minutemen should've destroyed the Institute; would've been a great little Easter Egg (since who does the Minutemen run?). Railroad would have kept it because killing the Synth's ability to reproduce is akin to their genocide and Brotherhood would've captured the Institute as part of their dogma to preserve technology; if they ever would've destroyed it, it would've been at a far later date.
It's believable for both factions to kill the institute; - The Railroad would've viewed the Institute as slave catchers, who both forced slaves to be brought to the US and tracked them down because they're ""property"". That's historically what the Railroad did. - The Brotherhood have always been extremely xenophobic and hateful of anything deemed "non-human", with the BoS in 3 and McNamara in NV being exceptions. It'd make perfect sense for the Brotherhood in 4 to want to destroy the Institute and eliminate "impure" and "inhuman" beings, much like how they murder a ton of super mutants and ghouls.
@@RaeIsGaee Take half a minute and put yourself in the shoes of a synth, which the Railroad mostly were: would you want the thing that created you, a unique life form, the thing which you could capture, to be destroyed, thus guaranteeing the death of your entire species? By your logic, the Underground Railroad would've castrated freed slaves. As for the BoS, you contradicted yourself in your own statement (from two completely different brotherhood ideologies) so I though feel no need to address it, I shall because even in Tactics we were welcoming Ghouls into the fight. So, you're simply wrong on every level. BoS would have captured the institute to study the tech, as was their charter, period.
@@jansenart0 Except you have to remember that synths aren't capable of reproduction. Under your assessment of the Institute, if I were to create a toaster, I would be considered said toaster's mother instead of just creating it. For synths, they probably wouldn't be comfortable with a force so nearly impossible to overcome as the institute being able to control any synth at any time, which was another major reason for destroying the Institute (imagine if the railroad kept it around and created more synths, only for a malicious party to come along and weaponize all those synths, removing their autonomy for their own ends). As such, the only way for synths to be truly autonomous would be to destroy the Institute, cutting off anything that could possibly take control of and enslave a synth. Tactics is non-canon, McNamara and BoS in 3 are stated to be outliers (with Harden being much more representative of the BoS's general attitude towards both "mutants" and outsiders), and in that case the BoS in 4 would've captured and studied Super Mutants to prevent FEV from spreading. Instead, they opt to genocide mutants and ghouls, even attacking non-feral ghouls occasionally. Not to mention that they consider synths to be equal to super mutants in their hatred, with the main character being the only reason that Danse isn't executed by Maxon.
I did a similar playthrough where I rushed to get the Lorenzo's Artifact gun asap and then used it to beat the game. This gun is very powerful and it also effective against enemies like Ghouls, Mutants and Deathclaws which have radiation immunity, AND it can also tear power armors to shreds making any ending that requires you to eliminate the Brotherhood possible.
Can you beat any of the Fallouts without being detected? I assumed it's fucked because of necessary interactions, but maybe not being detected until initiation of conversations
You see I thought I was smart using the hazmat suit against the children at the shack next to the lighthouse but they smartened up to my tactics and started chucking nuclear grenades like they were candy so I got absolutely cooked.
Whenever i ran radiation weapons only (doing a children of atom playthrough), i took the radium rifle along with the gamma gun. Seeing this makes me glad i took radium rifles, as they also do some kinetic damage. Granted, you can up the damage by installing the larger dish (if it didn’t have it already), but it’s a pain to scrounge up parts for upgrades
