Can you beat Tears of the Kingdom WITHOUT Ultrahand? 

I think the hardest one is probably Ascension? The rocket shields are nice, but I imagine some things are just locked behind ceilings? Is it even possible?

Exellent video. Here's a challenge idea i had for some time: A Shield Hero run. Dont pick or use Bows or Weapons. The run would be quite interesting & not that tedious since shields can be given offensive capabilities thanks to fuse. Wonder if perfect parries would allow a small amounts of shields to be used in the run.

@@Refreshment01 Great idea! Unfortunately SmallAnt already beat the game without weapons, bows, and shields, so that wouldn't bring anything new to the table. Thanks a ton for the suggestion, though!

At 5:27 you can shoot or throw bombs onto those type of targets to trigger them

The shrines where you can reach the end without a gate blocking the way can just be solved with bombs as well.

"Throwing" a weapon fused with a zonai cannon also works wonders, and doesnt take a bomb and arrow every shot 😁

You can pretty much solve 90% of puzzle shrines with bomb flowers.

@@Drengodr Just saw it because of said algorithm, sooo :) My only suggestion would be to get a dedicated mic and make sure the levels are right so there's no clipping. Audio is hard. Great editing and pacing though!

I certainly don't think it is, I like that puzzle chambers can have multiple solutions. The problem is when they are so short AND so easily cheesed that it just becomes very underwhelming, in my opinion. If you enjoyed all the shrines you played, fantastic!

I am doing this aswell! My tip is to map the Depths and use that as a sort of map. For the most part it's just a reverse of the overworld map, so it's useful. Definitely possible to get the glide suit aswell :)

@@Dampe17 The speedrun does a b-line for ganondorf without doing 10% of the rest of the game. That's not quite what I'm shooting for. I did borrow the tech in the sky island temple of time to avoid having to reverse those gears.

I know the ability to cheese shrines is intended, but the fact that it's SO easy and some shrines are SO short annoys me a bit. I wanted more challenge in my challenge run, and IMO the shrine concepts never reach their full potential

@@Drengodr Idk, Rocket Shield, Gibdo bones on a 5-shot savage lynel bow, Radiant armor and attack up 3 food.... Fuse is what makes Link truly terrifying. Being able to deploy an orbital weapon in a few seconds with Autobuild is also pretty significant, but his offense, defense, and recovery are what truly makes him an unstoppable force.

@@thermophile1695 True! Fuse is very powerful as well. That's why I'm beating the game next time without it AND without Ultrahand

I'd note that TotK also has access to the magic rupee armour so he's just as invulnerable as all the rest. More importantly though, Link has 4 distinct advantages: Significantly larger healing item potential, way better aerial options (meaning the other links have to rely mostly on boomerangs and arrows), autobuild to make (flying) death machines and obstacles out of thin air, and recall. (1) If any link or boss has no way to break a cage or move said cage, they're effectively out of the fight. (yes, even demon king ganondorf can be cheesed using a cage, it's used in a weaponless totk run); I count any link that can use power gloves and similar as being able to move cages, so those are still in. (2) If any link's only ranged option are physical, they are effectively out of the fight thanks to recall. No boomerangs and regular arrow can get close, though flame rods and light arrows still could. (technically the magic armour in totk only blocks a max of 9 damage, but you'd need to do 9 hearts worth of damage first) (also yes hero of legend still has the best fighting chance against TotK link, but hero of legend is just OP period)

I've been theory-crafting that run actually, I expect to have a video out on it in a few weeks but it will be extremely difficult, and also require glitches

@@Drengodr It should be simple. GSI should be possible with zuggle overload and if on 1.1.2 then perhaps arrow smuggling. If you allow the use of the ‘L’ button you can also use the infinite height glitch through the use of the ability wheel.
