Financial analyst is very broad title. 3 major routes would be accounting, fp&a, investments. These are 3 different fields and my advice is to pick 1 and then gain experience/certification/skills in it. You will notice how one company wants you to do GL recon as a financial analyst while other want you to do market research for an index as a financial analyst. Then always watch carefully at the duties listed to make sure you and employer are on the same page with what financial analyst do in their firm. You can not beleive how many times they actually want an accountant instead of financial analyst.
I worked at Amazon as business analyst, it's a great place to work if you are ready to hustle and put in the hours. Everyone I worked with was super bright and driven and the scope and scale of the things you'll work on is massive. The work life balance (as reported a ton in the media) is not very good and I wouldn't recommend it as a place to work if you have a lot of obligations at home or outside of your job.
Due to the pandemic, I had to stay at home with my family, and then I had to go into trading full time. I was being mentored to trade on Forex, stock, bonds and Options etc it feels great to spend a whole time with family.

I’m currently finishing my final year of my finance degree here in Australia and I’m wanting to be a financial analyst. This is great insight Thankyou.
Wouldn't TECH make your careers obsolete? As now most of the financial analysis are automates by machine to calculate risk management or revenue growth etc?
I was always interested in different currencies and their value and predicting rise and fall since I was 10 it's 4 years now and I still am interested to become a financial analyst (My sister recommended me this career path) I know 3 languages now and I am learning my 4th (swedish)

I have my B.Sc. in Accounting and my M.Sc. in Finance. I am hoping for a good job, particularly in a Finance Firm, where I can intern as well as, get my professionals while working. My dream is to become a Financial Analysts.
@@jancenj2218 hi this udemy course is quite hard, you need to know the fundamentals of Finance,Accounting and advanced excel so my advise is if you are young and still considering your options it is much better to have a degree in Finance etc, my degree is in Chemical Engineering but i worked with the tax dept and have ACCA level 1 but still found it hard, i am still building up my skills with udemy courses. good luck
@@Ap-wo1pw hi, it gave me the bare minimum but a very hard course, you really need a degree if you really want to become an analyst, if you are in uk, try apprenticeships, degree or ACCA and gain experience through internship, voluntary work.
im only 18 and have been thinking about what i want to major in and tho i had no idea until a couple months ago i suddenly so badly wanted to be a date or financial analyst more so the latter, but i had and still have no idea about what i need to do what to major in or what skills i need to master but this video really did give me an idea about it so thank you
Is 27 too old to begin studying? I had a really rough start in life, but now that im definately not going to be homeless again and well on my way to retiring before im 60. My dream is to make a career out off helping the average person to do the same.
believe in yourself, if you can study 4 years while making a name by yourself in a relacionated industry and not going homeless, you sure can retire before 60
Do you mind telling a bit of your story? It’s sounds inspirational. Lord knows many of us need some uplifting stories, news and events right about now.

There’s a RU-vidr called investing with Henry who said that when he worked at Goldman Sachs all he did was cold call potential investors like celebrities and hardly ever did the analysis part of financial analyst. Is that normal for the position? I don’t think I’d like to be cold calling.
I am also MBA in Finance, 2020 passed. Can you help me how to get job in financial analyst. Because for now , only sales jobs are only available to the job seekers.
Sir please answer . I am going to become a Cost and Management Accountant(CMA) in near future . So what should I consider doing to make a lucrative career in Finance profession . Should I do FINANCIAL MODELLING & VALUATION ANALYST ? And should I also learn Data Analyst and skills like Python, SQL etc ?
If you want to be a financial analyst then make the effort to contact people who are already doing the job. Getting advice from a real person who can be a mentor is far more valuable than taking a generic course.
Hi Dennis, this is Ned, the author of the video. I've been a financial analyst for companies like Coca-Cola and Pwc and will be happy to share my experience with you. In fact, this is what I try to do in these RU-vid videos. If there's a topic you would like to learn more about, please feel free to suggest here. Thanks!
Ok, i work at a hedge fund as an analyst and only the hispanic and asian analysts tend to speak more than one language. It's very uncommon, at least in the US, to speak more than one language unless you come from a culture-heavy background.
So does a person with masters degree in business or finance get any benefits like a higher salary or possibly a more prominent career over the one with bachelors degree. Or does the higher degree only help you to get the job?
Hi! What do you think about life/work balance??? I just got a job in a big four in audit, but I really hate the hours worked vs money made and the lack of personal life. Can I get a CFA in order to get a more balanced kind of job???
Hello, This is definitely one of the most discussed topics in Big 4 companies. I myself have worked for Pwc (in their financial advisory unit), and can relate. The hours are long and the pay is lower, which isn't a good combination. However, in the first few years Big 4 companies are a great school and can be really great for you to learn finance and accounting. Having said that, CFA is definitely a great way to impress employers, but it takes a long time to complete and will worsen your work-life balance in the meantime. My suggestion is to fix your resume and start applying as soon as you feel like you are ready for the next job (may be after 18 or 24 months). And also, consider taking CFA level 1 to show employers you are capable.
A financial analyst has many different definitions. If you get hired to the M&A division of an investment bank, you start off as an Analyst (then Associate, VP, Director, Managing Director usually), but a financial analyst in the research division of the same investment bank can be a very senior guy. And this is even within the same company, not even mentioning other sectors! I understand if it can be confusing, which is also why this RU-vid video didn’t make much sense without proper definitions.
No. He means that the average has 4 years of working experience prior to becoming a financial analyst. I’m majoring in financial analysis and I only have a few more semesters left. I will get my first internship soon. I only have 3 years of work experience at a production plant and at the post office
Hi, Your video is of great help to me. However, I'm concerning about a new challenge. I got a bachelor of finance. Now, I intend to study for a master's degree in Data analyst. I don't know whether I should focus on becoming a financial analyst or moving to a new field-data analyst. Or is there any career ladder that combines these two fields? Could I have your advice? Thank you
Greetings everyone. Needed a word of support & help from the fellow colleagues here. I'm a commerce graduate, with an 6 years of working experience as a General accountant in Middle East region for a private company in the construction sector. I need to upgrade my portfolio and technical expertise, but clueless where to head. Any words of career advice & help will be highly appreciated. Thank you & God Bless.
