Today I, Reebs, am sitting down in the plantrant chair for the first time ever because I have something really heavy on my chest that I want to talk to you about. I've been keeping some things in that I want to tell you about. It's just me and you, speaking honestly and truthfully today.

Thank you for this heartfelt plea to get healthy. I am 81 years old. I eat organic fruits, veggies, sprouts & seeds. I have had a healthy diet for about 45 years. I enjoy good health & still work part time in retail. There is no sitting in retail. I am on my feet for my entire shift. I think I am the oldest employee in the store. Like you, I feel very sad watching my family, friends & co-workers eat unhealthy foods & drink alcohol. My heart aches when I see parents feed unhealthy food to their children. My family knows where I am coming from & they are respectful of how I eat. They only serve vegan food to me when I visit. I try not to be preachy but sometimes I do caution them about their diet. I just do the best I can & set a good example. Big hug to you.

OMG! This message! I lost my husband of almost 34 years due to food addiction! He refused to change the way he ate and literally committed suicide through fast food. I mean the doctor says kidney failure as a result of uncontrolled diabetes. But I look at it realistically and know it was suicide by food. He’s my motivation to eat better and exercise. I fight every day to live!

. . . oh dear, Reebs, your words are exactly what my heart & soul feel daily watching so many loved ones succumb to illness & disease, & others, to an untimely death...it breaks my heart that we can't change anyone but ourselves...my last drink was in 1998 when my precious son sadly expressed that I wouldn't be able to enjoy my future grandkids with this disease...I can't help but hope you lose all the negative feelings you have towards your Mom's illness...in my experience, most, if not all, alcohol dependencies stem from a previous life trauma so huge that it just seemed to numb the inner heartache associated with it . . . you are such a beautiful gal...may God Bless You, your husb & most precious babies... 🥰

I know exactly how you feel. I've been a chef for 40 years and I cooked a lot of unhealthy but incredibly delicious food in those 40 years. Now I have to watch friends and family eat themselves to death. I went vegan 8 Years ago and now I use my talent and chef skills to make incredibly delicious healthy food for those same people, slowly converting into healthy eaters. Please remember that what you and your husband do is very important and its a slow uphill battle so try not to get discouraged. I love watching your show because even with 40 years in the kitchen under my belt I still learn new things all the time. Hang in there.

Dear Reebs, I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. That could be me, 40 years ago when my mother suddenly fell into alcohol after my father's death. It was painful to have to watch her and not be able to do anything for her except keep loving her and asking her to stop so that she could watch her grandchildren grow up. I'm an M.D. plant based in Germany and I'm retiring soon. I have helped thousands of patients overcome their food addiction, and that makes me happy. But unfortunately many people relapsed again, often worse than before. I will translate your video into German and share it in my discussion group. It's all said, perfectly expressed and emotional. Thank you for your open words and all the strength and love you offer your followers. I love your channel, big hugs and love. Greetings from Germany

Two weeks ago today I lost my sweet husband. He had just barely turned 50. He had type two diabetes and had struggled with poor health for years. Almost two years ago we started eating whole food, plant based. I was able to lose 100 pounds and improve my health. My husband was able to improve a lot of his numbers, but it has been such a struggle. The last few months we had let sugar, salt and oil slip back into our diet and his Diet Coke addiction had gotten the best of him. It was such a shock to lose him so suddenly. Thank you for your sweet video. It has helped me to realize how important to get my eating back under control so that my family does not lose me early as well.

Reebs, I needed this and may watch over and over. Thanks for being so vulnerable and so bold. I wish I could give you a hug. This week my husband realized that plant based eating was a matter of life and death for him. His routine physical this month revealed heart disease, atherosclerosis, critically high BP, and diabetes. I've been trying to help him see how powerful plant based eating is since 2021, when I reversed my own poor health. He saw conclusively how meat affected him when he worked all week to be plant based and saw his BP come slowly down from 170/115 to 149/110. Then he ate one serving of meat at a family dinner and it shot right back up. After that meal it took him 48 hours to get back to 149/115, and now he's determined to not lose ground again. He called it "hitting rock bottom" and "a pivotal event". I'm praying he will remember it and commit to his health. I'll be right there with him. When I started my own journey, you and Dillon were right there with me and I am so very grateful for the new life and health I have -- bless you for all the good you do!

Then for some reason you appeared on my iPad tonight and it was as though my daughter was speaking to me asking me to get back to my healthy way of eating so that I will feel good again because now I feel old and tired and worn out … and my family worries about me -thank you for the wake up call …your mom would be proud of you …I will do better for the people who love me and for myself ..you have a mission in life my dear ……Barbara

I lost everything due to chronic illness and debilitating pain. Then I started drinking and smoking and my illnesses went away. It made me want to die since I no longer had the life or home I worked so hard for and my grown children moved on with their lives. I was intentionally drinking myself into a coma every night. I gradually switched from drinking vodka to wine and more recently quit drinking alcohol altogether. I miss it but I live in chronic pain and stress and am trying to manage it with little help. If I could have the right to die, I would take it in a heartbeat.

Eating junk and living an unhealthy lifestyle is hard. Having to battle saying no to unhealthy food and taking care of yourself is hard. Choose your hard. For me, although putting the time and effort into taking care of myself can be challenging, it comes with so many positives that leave me feeling so much better overall, and so much more alive. When I start eating junk (just got out of a tough stretch of eating poorly) not only do I feel horrible and exhausted so often, what's even worse is that my mental health really tanks and I truly feel like my life is on the line. I want to live a long and healthy life, growing old with my partner at my side. I want to be able to show up for her and be present in our lives together. I want to lead by example for my loved ones and my community. I got lost there for a long while somehow. I got derailed. Thankfully a friend reached out and helped me get back on track. I'm feeling so much better and so much more excited and generally more positive from day to day. It's can be so hard to cut the sugar and salt addiction, but you can do it! Push through! Each day will get easier and the cravings will all but disappear. We deserve to live long lives and feel vibrant and alive throughout! Let's do this 💚

My parents and my brothers drink too much alcohol, infact I may loose the youngest to alcohol. I myself am dealing with food and its temptation. I’ve been plant-based for about ten years now. I gave up smoking at about the same time. Put on weight, got rid of a toxic boyfriend, put on more weight and slowly but surely lost myself, took a long while to find myself again. Did lots of yoga and nourishing my spirit. Now I am using Cronometer again to relearn portion sizes. Thank you for trusting us to ask this of us. Thank you so much! I will do this for you. I will also trust myself and do this for myself. It is such a gift that you asked, because my friends and family think I’m a little coocoo for going plant-based. But I am the only one in my family not on blood pressure medication. So once again, thank you for asking. I will not add to your pain, I will lighten your load infinitesimally by being one less human of the multitude who kill themselves by what they consume and chose to call this destiny…

Very poignant, heartfelt, and caring. Thank you for expressing these thoughts. My worst addiction was desserts, and I feasted on them for decades. But I've been lucky. I never weighed more than 185 pounds, never had diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure. My current weight, almost 6 years after adopting a WFPB diet, is 152, and I'm 6' tall. There was no health crisis behind my decision to switch up my diet. Once I stumbled on the truth, I committed to it. But it hasn't been easy. No one in my family wants to hear about it, and neither do any friends, or acquaintances on the many bicycle tours that I do. I'm 75, live alone with two cats, and have nearly perfect health. Yet there's no one to share the good news with. Choosing this diet feels like one more, self-isolating decision that I've made. One of my two sisters, also in her 70s, actually commented that she preferred me as I used to eat. Which means gluttony and extreme over-indulgence on sweets, not to mention a host of other foods; i.e., unhealthy. It doesn't hurt that I bicycle over 10,000 miles a year. But I understand, as some do not, that exercise is not a panacea for a bad diet.

Heartbreaking vid. I feel the same way with my dad and smoking. Seeing how it affected him I think kicked off a lot of health anxiety for me. But it led me to whole food plant based and I feel so much better and healthier. For that thank, thank you all the people sharing this message online. This channel really helped me.

As a people who live on this planet, there are three things that we were never taught. How to breathe. How to eat. And how to love ourselves. These essential life skills have eluded all of us because no one was able to teach them to us, because no one was there to teach them. Thank you, Reebs, for being there for all of us. Thank you for the love and the beauty that you first into this world every, single, day.❤️❤️❤️

Oh my gosh !! I’m sitting here in tears ! This was one of the most powerful videos that I have ever watched ! I watched my mother slowly kill herself with bad choices of food, even after a triple bypass. I raised myself as a vegetarian and refused to eat meat at a very, very young age. I changed that 5 years ago and now I’m WPB. The SAD is a slow death and no matter how much I try, family members just won’t listen. My husband eats a SAD and had heart failure one year ago, and now has a pace maker with a defibrillator. Thank you Reebs ❤

Hi sweetheart, I’m so sorry you hurt. I too come from generations of lives destroyed by addiction. I suffered from food addictions in my teen and young adult years. I’m 62 and am now older than any of my family of origin when they all died from cigarette and alcohol addiction. My husband and I adopted a plant based whole food life style almost 10 years ago, so we could be here as long as possible to watch over our kids and grandkids. Praying your precious message brings life to loads of folks all over!!❤

I am just finishing up a 17-day water fast at TrueNorth to heal and reverse many chronic conditions I have developed over the last ten years of unhealthy eating and drinking. I have the knowledge and tools to live this way of eating, and you guys will be a big part of my life. Your videos are such a gift. God bless you and Dillon for what you are doing.

Thank you so much for sharing. My mom was an alcoholic who died not from that addiction but from her one to cigarettes - she died 15 days after her 41st birthday as a result of lung cancer. That was a long time ago when information about the life-saving benefits of a whole-food, plant-based diet was not widespread, and I can't help but wonder if following our lifestyle would have saved her life. I hate to see that you, too, are in the early-loss-of-mother club, but I appreciate your vulnerability and being willing to demonstrate your caring. Thanks for all you do to support this community.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom and uncle. I got all choked up hearing you. I can relate as I am watching my brother destroy himself with alcohol. My dad was also an alcoholic but was recovered 30+ years before he passed. I vividly remember seeing him sip his vodka, and the clinking of ice-cubes in his glass is something I'll never forget. So many of my family and friends are poisoning their bodies with food and alcohol and it is so frustrating and bewildering to have the answers for them, and yet they turn a deaf ear over and over again, all while complaining about their health issues. You and Dillon have built an amazing company! Many of us are trying hard to spread the word for anyone who will listen. I am currently studying for the T. Collin Campbell Plant Based Nutrition Certificate and plan on teaching workshops on WFPB OS, and SOS-free living. I will be promoting your company and products because quick, easy, delicious and satiating meals appeal to busy people. Thank you both for all you've done and continue to do! This is a movement in time and you are among the front-runners! Diligence and patience will help the tables turn. Sending love and hugs to you and your beautiful family!❤💚🤩🤗

We love you Reebes and Dylan so much! We are not alone in this, we have our community of people spread out all over the world, even if we only connect with them online. I promise you both that I am in this for life, I'm 32 years old and I was diagnosed with coronary artery disease at 27, I found all this information myself because I refused to take drugs and live a compromised life. I was 215 lb and ironically as much as I was anti- Pharmaceutical, I was a heavy binge Drinker for many years, fast forward, I am going into my fifth year of a whole food plant-based diet, my angina disappeared completely within months of beginning this lifestyle, 90% of it was gone within the first few weeks, before I started I could barely walk a few hundred feet without chest pains! I am now 130 lb and routinely Run 4 to 6 Mi a day. I'll never give up this lifestyle and I'm grateful for every single day. Thank you for sharing this, We're All in This Together!

Aww Reebs, thank you for this very timely message. I’m so sorry you had to go through that with your mom. I did too, with both my parents. First my dad, who died when I was 25 and then my mom, who didn’t stop drinking until forced to when she got breast cancer. She didn’t stop smoking until the doctor told her she was going to have to go on oxygen. That finally did it for her. She died in 2016 at the age of 88, but not before going through tongue, lung and throat cancer (all in the last 6 months of her life). I went WFPB in November 2017 and I was very good until my husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary (2022). I caved and bought a normal cake and haven’t been able to kick the sugar addiction for 2 years. Your video may have done it. I’m going to begin again and if I can stay off the sugar for three weeks, I will be okay. Thanks for the pep talk, Reebs! ❤❤❤

I’m so sorry about your Mom. I hope you don’t blame yourself. You and Dillon help all of us so much more than you’ll ever know. You have helped me and in turn I helped my husband. We are both WFPB low salt, sugar and oil free. We are maintaining a low BMI. We are 69 and 70, and struggle with heart disease. I have had an MI and stents, my husband had bypass surgery. Unfortunately, we both have to use medication along with lifestyle. We both have genetic hyperlipodemia and high blood pressure. So it’s extra important that we stay on course to prevent future episodes.I use your recipes and love how you keep it so simple. Your products also are so helpful too. I’m totally hooked on the veggie broth powder! Love you both and your adorable kids! Thank you many times

Thank you so much for this video. I am 54 and I want to become healthy for my kids, husband and myself. I also have a long list of health issues. I just don't know how to get over the cravings of sweets, breads and some meals with meat I grow up with. I can eat plant based 1, 2 or max 3 days and I give up for cravings. Removing temptation from my house does not help because I find the way to buy them at work or bring them in my house for my husband who loves meat. I also know that for me these cravings are very connected to the stress in my workplace. I have tons of plant based books from AJ to renowned doctors but the cravings win over the good habits. Please make a video on how to get over the cravings when they are stronger than the will power to be healthy.
