Hey Rhett and Link. My son Noah is one of THOSE kids who swallowed the magnetic metal balls. 13 of them to be precise. I had been playing with them the night before and forgot to put them up. My son is like a ninja when he wakes up and noone heard him roaming around our bedroom. Since he was only 2 at the time, he decided they were shiny and he wanted to eat them. Well, hours of waiting, and doctors, and procidures later we found out that one of them had burrowed into the lining of his stomach somehow and the rest just clipped to it. Which is a total blessing because kids have had to get up to 15 feet if intestine removed once they clip to eachother. But he's ok now and i got rid of all magnets in the house. Noah will be 3 tomorrow and loves to watch GMM with me...when cartoons arent on that is.
I think of all the places that a penny has been. Like seriously, think of all the places that a penny's been at. It could've been in the pocket of the president's suit, but it's probably also been in Eddie's poop.
cause Eddie eats pennies like they're Flintstones vitamins, accruing no interest while traveling inside of him. although reentering circulation might boost the economy, I'd rather not pay with a penny that's performed Eddie's colonoscopy
Speaking of swallowing, I had a dream where I swallowed a battery for some reason. I woke and and I felt cautious lol so i googled what happens if you swallow a battery LOL xD
I liked seeing you guys learn how to make glass. I didn't mind that you forgot the camera was there. It was just as entertaining as destroying the glass was imo.
When my sister was a baby she swallowed a penny. My mom was freaked out. They watched her stool closely since she was still in diapers. A few days later they found money in the diaper. She had passed a dime! My dad made the comment that they should feed her all of their pennies. LOL. True story. As for the marble... I am pretty sure it would be BAD. For one thing it would be hard to find with medical imaging if you did need surgery. My daughter is a vet tech and has had to be involved with multiple foreign body surgeries over the years. They are no fun for anyone.

local glassblower needed help in his glass shop, he saw my dedication to wanting to learn the craft so he invited me in and i have been there for over 3 years now
Benjamin Shields depends if youre looking to get into a existing shop or not. you can always just start up your own glass shop its just really expensive and takes lots of dedication either way you do it

+kristyy andradee yes the glass would dissolve, maybe not completely as it is a large piece of glass, but it would get to a small enough size that is would be able to come out the other end. professional glass eaters depend on the glass dissolving so they it doesn't cut their behind. check out Brian brushwood on 'scam school' he shows how to eat glass if that's what satisfies your hunger. *edit* might i add, eating glass is very different to eating a marble. some marbles are not glass and therefore would not dissolve. glass marbles do dissolve. eating glass is safe [to a degree] eating a marble is definitely not recommended.
I believe that marble would be WAY to big to swallow. Just think how much it hurts when a tiny piece of potato chips goes down wrong. Now imagine that huge chunk of glass... Yes, it is glass, but that think would stretch (if possible) your esophagus to the brink of tearing!
+DonNorway A potato chip cuts you though, a marble is smooth. And there is actually a guy who can swallow pool balls (Stevie Starr), so the esophagus is definitely flexible enough to swallow a marble that size. I imagine it would be hella painful for someone not used to swallow pool balls though!
+DonNorway I think it could get through, judging by the size and flexibility of the esophagus, but I don't think it could make it out of the stomach. I don't know if glass is affected by stomach acid, but if it is, I think you could regurgitate it when it became small enough.
really interesting, what parents have to actually deal with. I guess, almost all parents have at least one incident where they are basically terrified for their child's life, because the child did something or something happened to it.
Link totally watches grey's anatomy because he spoiled derek's death and when someone in the crew was like "whaaaaaat" he backed off saying "I don't know I just made that up" no you didn't! XD
I've thought about it too before writing it, but it actually happened a couple of months ago and was all over the news so I guess the chances of someone watching grey's anatomy who hasn't yet seen that far and hasn't heard or read the thing anywhere is watching not only gmm but gmmore and in specific my comment, is low enough to just go with it and say it :P But by that sound we heard, for sure there is someone in the crew who didn't know it! Or maybe was just like "whaaaat you can't say that and spoil it to people who don't know it yet" XD There is no way he came up with it because he didn't say "he died" but "he was killed off" which is way too specific to be a random guess :P
I doubt it was as big as that marble though. I once swallowed one of those hard candies as a kid and damn near choked and it was WAY smaller than that.

Once I dropped a solid glass egg on my head (I was like 7 or 8) I was in pain for like 4 days straight and I could not fall asleep, so I had to keep a wet cloth on my head to help the pain. Great childhood memory...
Them talking about swallowing the marble made me think of a freak show act I saw once where a guy swallowed a pool ball and coughed it back up......thanks for resurfacing that memory, now I can't unsee it
The max diameter of the pylorus (stomach sphincter) is 2 cm (4/5 inch). Anything bigger then that can cause problems and may need to be removed surgically. I doubt that the marble would be a big problem, you would just have a piece of glass in your stomach. Just make sure that its lead-free glass.
