Watching by accident. This is very similar to what we Jamaicans call "Pepperpot soup". It's a very vegetable rich and thick soup, using local Jamaican Callalloo (green vegetable) and Spinach. Some people add pumpkin to it, coco-yam, white yam and Jamaican yellow yam or cassava may also added...some people add a little okra. The Rasta's do not add meat, but traditionally a little fresh and salted or smoked meat is added along with seasonings. Scotch bonnet (habernero peppers) are added hence the name. The ground provisions are added whole, we don't pound them, or mash them up....but in the process of cooking they may break down. It is a very, very flavorful and healthy soup...just like the one the lady has prepared for you. The similarities between Jamaican, Ghanaian and Nigerian foods are often mind-blowing. We often may use the same ingredients but prepare them slightly differently. We also prepare some dishes made from cornmeal or pounded corn and coconut and cook them in a Banana leaf- we call it Dukunu and I believe the Ghanaians have a similar dish called by the same name Enjoyed your video.
Your comment is so insightful. Many parts of nigeria eat the cornmeal you talked about. The southern people of akwa ibom state in Nigeria call "asa akpakpa" . Thanks for stopping by🙏
