We are based in North Wales and manage around 150 colonies of bees, plus nucleus colonies.
We produce Great Taste Award winning honey and sell nucleus colonies to members of the public.
Our 6 frame overwintered nucleus colonies sell out very fast every year so early ordering is advisable.

We supply F1 Mated Buckfast and Jolanta Queens throughout the season. The UK Mated Jolanta Queens are reared using genetics used by the UK's biggest bee farmer - Murray McGregor - and are not available to general public, except through resellers like us! Check out our queens page on our website.

We are passionate about beekeeping and really enjoy helping beekeepers through our RU-vid channel.
On our channel you can find information on making splits with swarm cells, making increase with queen cells, grafting larvae, foulbrood and disease inspection, honey extraction and machinery, top tips for beginners, products reviews, instructions and guidance plus much more.
#NO NONSENSE BEEKEEPING is a UK based beekeeping channel, designed to keep beekeeping as simple and enjoyable as possible. There are no overly complicated techniques or intricate pieces of equipment.
We cover all beekeeping topics ranging from queen rearing, disease recognition/control, honey extraction, swarm management/collection, how to make splits and much more!
My personal favourite aspects of beekeeping are selecting queens for rearing, rearing queens for mating, making up nucs for overwintering and collecting swarms.
We aim to bridge the gap between commercial and hobbyist beekeepers and cater for beekeepers of all experience levels.
No matter what your level of experience, please hit the subscribe button and join us on our journey!

Looking good. I haven't fed a drop to mine and have 3 brood boxes on some as they just keep packing it in. Going to take the extra brood boxes off and store for splits and early season boosts :)

Hi. Do you need to block the entrance on the poly ashforth feeders if using them as crownboards? Thank you

Interesting how this differs from region to region. Here we normally don't want any brood in September, since those bees won't actually become winter bees, will eat a huge chunk of winter stores and then die by November, contributing absolutely nothing to the colony and spending the resources of actual winter bees to raise them. So, feeding the hives to the point the queen has no space to lay is a common practice late August - early September.

I can see the logic but the colony size in September does dictate the amount of winter bees that can be created. If you block the brood nest intentionally, then when it comes the time to raise winter bees, nowhere near as many can be created as the colony has dwindled due to a blocked brood nest. I prefer to feed a bit more and have monster colonies into and out of winter as opposed to blocking the brood nest and limiting the amount of winter bees that can be made. However, not knocking what you are doing. We all find ways to manage our own bees and if this brings you success, then that's all that matters :)

Just seen you arent UK based, so ignore all of the above! I have no idea if its relevant or not. Your English is excellent by the way :)

@@BlackMountainHoneyThanks. %) Yeah, as I said, the region matters. We usually get the first snow somewhere in October, so September generation is almost guaranteed to be a dud. Research points out that we don't want any bee to be born after 5th of September. Some beekeepers even remove the frames with the brood if they find them after that date and feed them to the birdies. Monster colony sounds nice, but it likely won't survive 6+ months of winter. And with this September being as warm as it was, it will likely be deadly for our bees, since most of the colonies has attempted to continue laying at full tilt.
