One of the more fascinating thought experiments is-can you grow plants in space for food-and if so, which ones are superior? This is the big question that students in 40 states across the US are trying to figure out with the help of NASA and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.

I also thought of micro greens as a perfect space crop but also sprouts; buckwheat and sunflower seed sprouts grown in trays and the many types that are grown in jars or sieves. That would provide the widest availability of condensed nutrients.

Certain mosses and algaes could be genetically modified to produce some of the missing nutrition. They grow much faster than garden vegentables, require less water, and could occupy the same volume of space. Some species could simply grow without a substrate if the chamber could produce enough ambient humidity.

Hi Summer Rayne - this comment is probably out of place but I wanted to ask you- with having so many plants in your Brooklyn apartment did you ever find yourself having days ....weeks....months where you were so overwhelmed with the amount of plants you have that you end up neglecting them? I love plants but I find myself going through chapters like that and then I walk around and say Oh No I need to get back on track haha I was just wondering

NASA/Nazis were developed in the 1960s to deceive the population we have never been to space the I SS is in a big swimming pool... We are on a nonmoving stationary plain with a fixed firmament above us. They lied about the sun and moon being billions of miles away ...they are local.. Proof there is no curvature, cannot have pressurized next to the vacuum of space ..impossible.. NASA receives $72 million per day rockets are giant helium balloons satellites are helium balloons everything is a lie

Ok, we are earthlings, if we go anywhere else, we will be Martians or Lunarians. We are intrinsically tied to our environment and cannot survive as we are anywhere else. @@natesofa
