That fish is close to the end of its life cycle and I would have kept it. Rec anglers are only allowed one fish and the amount of effort jew anglers put in for that one fish means it is well-deserved when one finally comes their way, provided the catch is treated with respect, dispatched quickly, put on ice with no part wasted.

Jews that are over a metre don’t release well and especially with how hard this one fought I would of been exhausted and most likely died either way as at least this way it’s not wasted it would of been awesome to see it swim off but most likely wouldn’t have lived on
