Can You Have Too Many Commander Decks? Is There Such A Thing?

Over the last few years, I've had a lot of commander decks. Currently, I have about 25. That's a lot! As I'll explain, I actually think that's too many for my current lifestyle. What do you think though? Can you have too many commander decks, or is there no such thing? If so, roughly how many is too many?

There isn't too many. Just don't worry about constantly upgrading them all.

I find that I have alot of decks that I may not show love to all the time. However, they are great when loaning to a friend to play who wants a new experience, or new person who is learning to play, and trying to find there Style. 😁

I have about 18. I could easily have double that if my life allowed for it. Like you, I have a full time job, and I'm married with 2 kids. I think for me, I am not taking them apart any time soon (unless a new commander comes along that makes me take something apart). I don't plan on selling anything right now, so might as well keep them together, even if a bunch don't see play for a while. I have thought about converting more of my deckbuilding to MTGO (magic online). It's much cheaper and I can get games in more easily.

MTGO is great! I have a handful of decks on there. Definitely a lot cheaper

To start this comment, I have a problem procastinating things, i started building more decks in 2019, i had at that point 4 decks, but in 2020 just before pandemic i had around 10, left mtg when pandemic started, and since i came back y have now over 40 decks, its just because i know i have to put apart decks but i just cant find the time to do so, and having more means i spend more and more on magic, and budget isn't infinite, so to prevent from building new decks i want to take apart some, but still keep a digital list in case i regret doing so. Recently watched the hobbit and i certainly feel like thorin oakenshield with his gold in the mountain😂

4 is the sweetspot for me. Commander is not my main format and i never want to buy/own more than a playset of a card.

I actually looked up this kind of video... I have a problem, got into magic last year, and I have brewed 12 or more decks that are playable right now... they aren't complete... I need to get some more pieces for it to really take off, but still feels like I got too many. The problem becomes when a new commander precon with a cool commander comes out, or a new legendary creature looks awesome, or it plays in a cool looking way... I now have too many commanders so I split my attention/ money, everywhere... it is literally making me broke...
