I love that Hector is still hugging his "prizes" while listening to Ronan. 😂 I heard before that the 'mind is the athlete' and that made a mark for me so it's a yes. I agree that the intention and an intention that resonates with our cores fuels our decisions & the work we have to do for our health.
Hi Ellen, Ronan here. At some point we start realizing that emotional events we experienced many years ago can have a major influence on how we can or cannot lose weight or improve our health. It’s fascinating, right?
Dear Ronan As always love and appreciate your works and insights on weight loss and body care. Your Question: If you want to change your body, whats the core intention behind? Let me begin with my failed intention: -Back in 2017 after I left playing sports like soccer and cricket I slowly started to gain weight and started getting comments like "Fatty" "Bro what happened to you" and "Now you will never get back to the old Fit Viral". My intention from here on wards was to prove those who doubted me wrong. So I can began going to the gym early in the Morning, drastically cutting down carbs and sugars, avoiding eating out and various other measures. Guess what I quit within two weeks of doing it and gained double the weight. A year went on and I kept getting more comments by people regarding how my body looked and the worst one came from girl "Look at you, You look like a 40 year old, you will never get a girl". My intention of proving people wrong grew even stronger, I started with the same thing again going to gym and train rigorously for hours and no result again. I gave up the goal to change by body and just didn't bother at all and believed what everyone said about. What changed my intention: Just this year I was introduced to mindvalley and in this I read a blog by Lorenzo Delano on "The Official 14-Step Mindvalley Guide For Accelerated Weight-Loss And Fitness" which changed my life within 2 months. My intention behind changing my body was to become a better version of myself for myself the fight wasn't to prove anyone wrong the fight was with my old self my eating habits, my mindset and the "Weight loss lies I have been brought up with". To any one reading this comment the only way you can progress in life is if you have intentions that is of value to you not to anyone else but to you. Thanks Ronan for sharing your insights and if there is anything you want me to share with your followers and viewers more than happy to do so. Viral Vagh
Hi Viral, it's great to see you here again, brother. I so appreciate you for sharing openly your journey. It has a struggle that is so common to so many of us but very few are brave to talk about it and allow other people to relate. And the turning point is absolutely beautiful :) the fact that you changed the perspective to now set your standards yourself is what shows me that you're going to be fulfilled with this journey no matter what. Sending you a big hug to you from Malaysia :)
Hi Diego, Ronan here. Feeling good every day is the real deal :) it’s interesting that when you find out that self confidence is what you want you don’t really need to change your body at all. It’s much more about how you think about it and how you’re taking care of it. Makes sense?
@@Mindvalley Hi Ronan, I do understand what you say, and agree with it. However, we know when people see someone in chape, people “admire”, and we consciously awake we know that, and In whatever circumstances, we being in good shape we approach anyone but anyone with way more confidence, transmitting a positive vibration. Hope you understand what I mean Amigo!
Yes we can lose weight through mindset because if our mind is set that I can't lose wait and our mindset is for comforts we cannot lose weight . TO GAIN SOMETHING WE GOTTA LOSE SOMETHING these all depends on mindset
Loved this. I would love to feel supple, light, flexible and full of energy - but I don’t know how to achieve this when I struggle so much with strong hunger and bad body image
Hmm. I am one who has tried lots of things and am not a binge eater. I focus on healthy foods and I exercise regularly. When I track everything I normally eat I eat between 1200 and 1500 calories a day. I don't eat gluten due to intolerance. I avoid processed foods. Haven't eaten at McDonald's for years. If I have a treat it is a bite or two but I keep sugars down to a minimum. I still struggle with that 10 to 15 poinds I gained from childbirth. I take supplements for MTHFR genetic issues. I've had a personal trainer for 9 months and didn't lose more than 2 pounds. I've tried NOOM consistently for over 100 days of tracking and did lose about 3 pounds but I was up after a sports related injury so I'm just back to the beginning. I do intermittent fasting by eating during an 8 hour window 11 am to 7 pm. I haven't given up but think men don't have the same struggles that many mothers experience.
You're right. Overall, a man will struggle far less to lose weight than a woman will. Also, we naturally gain weight as we get older; we're often "stuck" on what we weighed in our teens or early 20s, but after about age 27, metabolism changes (and then later it will change again and again, and not for the better). One thing you don't say - and on weight-loss forums, those offering "advice" rarely ask - is your current height and weight. If you're only 10-15 lbs "overweight," I'd question whether this is really extraneous weight - maybe you think so, but does your body? Now that you're older, your body may want those extra few pounds, and if you're dead-set on losing them, you're going to have to do something extraordinary (more likely a number of things). Even people who've lost 150 lbs will tell you, "the last 10 lbs were the hardest," and it makes sense, because at that point, you're already very close to your body's "set weight." To shift that, you're going to have to really kick-ass. The question then is - is it worth it? Maybe it is to you, but maybe not.
@@Lionforaday 5'4" 139 lbs. I am happy that my efforts have kept me from getting heavier. I just would like more results from my efforts. I have done some more extreme things: 3 day fast, low calorie diet, liver cleanse diet, elimination diet (for my allergies), etc. Mostly I try to eat healthy, real food and not let stress eating happen.
@@sagegallagher Ah! Same (well almost, I'm 54, but also a woman, despite my profile pic). So menopause is the wild card. I would agree with something you said earlier - that you're happy with the efforts you've made that have kept you from getting heavier! I would make sure to acknowledge that achievement. Medicine can't fully explain the weight-gain of menopause - after all, we know that female hormones such as estrogen and progesterone are associated with weight gain. So if these drop in menopause, you'd think weight would drop, too... but quite the opposite! I'm a bit stumped myself I admit; I'm doing some research into whether hormone replacement therapy aids in weight loss and then (if it does) will weigh (no pun intended) the pros and cons.
@@Mindvalley Like I said before, Look for current narratives and make it fun. Your body and hand gestures greatly improved. You are on the right track. Congratulations. :-)
I have a lot of reasons for trying to change my body and to put on muscle -inspire others -look my best -make my parents proud -be strong enough to defend and aid my loved ones And of course the typical reason, I’m tired of being built like and AirPod 😳
Hi, Ronan here. Which is the one that speaks the loudest to you? I ask you that because the strategy that aligns the best with the loudest reason is probably the one that will make you more fulfilled and take you further in this journey.
I cut carbs and I get depressed and binge eat after a period. People who grew up eating substantial amounts of animal foods do well cutting carbs - mostly people in western countries - I suspect their gut bacteria is designed accordingly. For the rest of us, please take care of your mind, listen to Paul McKenna’s hypnosis, don’t eat fast food, eat good carbs... even rice if you like and keep you body and soul satisfied. Oh another thing... the most important thing - find and work on your passion. You will not think of food constantly anymore!
Hi Dhyana, Ronan here. There are 2 points that you said that I was raving about here. The first one is that when you mention to find work on your passion and you won't think of food constantly anymore. I couldn't agree more even though it's hard for most people to see the connection there. We usually go to food to try to get the feeling of fulfillment that we're not getting in other areas of our lives. But if life is fulfilling, there's no need for that. The second thing was Paul McKenna's hypnosis. I do the one from his Mindvalley program, called Everyday Bliss, and it's really amazing. Which one do you do?
Hi, Ronan here. Marwah, our master behind our video editing, got so happy to know that you caught that :D she put it there wondering if anyone would notice :)
I started my workout because my health and immune system was becoming weak due to fat so I started my workout but now I want to maintain a good and healthy lifestyle plus I want that abs so I am working on myself every day I eat healthy food filled with nutrition and now I won't quit I know and I will improve my health so this time losing weight is my decision based on my inner voice and maybe this is the reason I don't want motivation
Hi Mukta, Ronan here. I learned that when your true intention resonates with your core values, this is when you feel that there’s less resistance and struggle on your journey and that you feel pulling rather than pushing. Makes sense?
Self confidence! I can see that you speak from your heart!! I feel like you are describing me! Aniway I'm doing intermittent fasting and I'm going better with my healt and look. I hope you understand what i'm trying to tell😄
Great video Ronan 👌🏼 *Question:* what does cardio kill first muscle or fat ? And if I do cardio with a body fat of 8% to 12% then what kind of and how long should I do it 🙂
Hey, always good to see you around :) There’s no short answer to this question because you can’t isolate your exercise from your nutrition, recovery, and lifestyle. Cardio tends to burn carbohydrates more than anything if you’re heart rate raises while doing it. You may lose muscle mass if you’re doing too much. But how much is too much? That will depend on all the other variables of your lifestyle. If you’re strength training, make sure you can progressive overloading. If you can’t, then maybe the amount or cardio could be one of the factors that you can lower to preserve/build muscle.
Hi, I have a high cholestrol level. I am 27 years old. I have been going to the gym also I have tried to keep my diet to eating fewer carbs and more green leafy vegetables. I do not see any improvement because I wasn't consistent and I find it hard to hit the gym regularly. My intention of losing that extra Kg is to just get myself a healthy body. Kindly do help me, Rohan. Need some help.
Weight issues have to do with the emotional stress related to nurturing (issues with momin early life that are unconscius) and with body shaming and bulling that became an emotional stress due to the need to satisfy others expectations in early life... If we do not adress these factors first, no weightloss... it can be a transgenerational issue... complicated and fascinated issue...
I have this issue and out of the 40 I lost I still have the final 10 which feels like 20 and it’s pure emotional eating ughhh. What video would help me. I’m going to fast until it comes off. I’m sick of the last 10!
Hi, Ronan here. Now we’re talking :) I love that you brought up the deeper mechanisms that most people don’t know they’re even connected to our body weight and health.
Hi Pam, Ronan here. This is a difficulty so many people face in their journey and that the clarity of intention can help so much to solve. Have you gone deeper in your reflection about what's really driving you to want to release excess weight? What did come out to you?
Is it possible that we do less exercise and by eating (diet ) we lose weight . But things which you suggest if it could be something easily available that would be better because what I have seen people say eat this and that but that's what we gotta go and get and sometimes we don't even get so some easy healthy tips please make video on this.
Hi, Ronan here. For sure, most of weight loss will come from nutrition and not from exercise. So that's totally possible. In regards to your question, I didn't understand it fully. Want to try and explain me what you mean?
I lost 10 kg without doing rigours workouts , without doing any diet. I only ate 2 times a day. Two full meals until I felt like vomiting. But intermittent fasting is necessary.
Hey Palak, Ronan here. It depends on what the lack of self-confidence is based on. I think that the best way to approach this question is to think first about how a weight loss plan WOULD NOT look like if you're trying to feel more confident. If the strategies don't empower you, they will definitely create an internal conflict with your desire of feeling more confident. If the plan is to follow a meal plan and a workout plan that somebody gives you and you don't know why it's there and how to evolve with it, this is not allowing you much confidence. I'd then look into ways of addressing confidence from: - what I know about my body: learn more about exercise, nutrition, and recovery. I can still follow a plan but I'll know how to navigate and steer it and that gives me more confidence - what my body is capable of: focus on what my body can do rather than what it looks like. Making a plan to double my squat strength or doing 15 pull ups nurtures confidence much more than looking like a certain actor or instagram model - body image perspective: what your body is and what your body image is are two different things. Often, we think that we will solve a self-confidence issue when we get to change our bodies only to know that the issue is still there after the body looks the way we wanted. In most cases, this is a matter to go deeper into the mind and looking for the causes of the self-image issues that will really make the difference here if addressed.
