One of the mad lads over in the Discord recommended I try out Hacknet and at $1.49 I said, why not?! Well, I've been playing it ever since so I figured why not feature it in this week's video!

I recommended this game to Sasquatch. Key things I learned in my full playthrough: - rename your executables. I named all of them based on the protocols they used, or other 3 or 4 letter abbreviations based on what they do, saves you a ton of time in those timed situations. Also, rather than wasting memory on notes, you can just type whatever note into your terminal if you need it only temporarily.

I remember this game, but forgot the name. Thanks for the video. My first introduction to a text base game was Zork back in the late 70's early 80's on my Commodore64. Love your videos man!

Excellent game and solid review. You had me at DOS. My first game was either King’s Quest or Space Quest definitely spent many hours with the Monkey Island series, Loom, etc.

Can you do a video about the hypothetical uses of the 🦈 in a zombie apocalypse. I have been exploring the idea on GPT, and I think we would* both trying a kick out of it.

Back in the day I loved a game called uplink. It was more of a graphical approach to hacking, but I loved it

This game reminds me of a game from around 2001 called uplink. Does this game passively trace your character if your cleanup is not so clean?because that game does. nothing will happen at first but unless you created a dead end for them to run into between you and the target you WILL be eventually tracked down and be greeted with a screen indicating your account has been compromised and you and your clearance has been burned resetting all your progress to zero. Basically a game over at that point if you didn’t have a backup stashed somewhere. I can tell you it’s the most paranoia inducing thing in the world when you leave a server and ask yourself if you made it TOO obvious there was a hacker because even if you delete evidence that can affect how tight the time limit could be on your next job.

I played some games kind of like that that no longer exists because either how well made it is showing real hacks, or the devs are just gone. They randomly vanished...

By the way, if you follow a very unrelated path in the game, you get the invite link to a discord server with only like 60 ppl in it, all the ppl who have found it. Good luck

This sounds pretty cool. I've just recently got deeper into trying to understand cybersecurity stuff and computer science and just signed up to take some intro courses from Google that provides you certifications. Not really sure if any of the certificates would really be worth much out right but I figured they wouldn't look bad either to have on a resume with everything else. What's more important to me is just learning the stuff and how/why everything does or doesn't work. I've been tinkering, building and repair all sorts of the electronic devices forever. When I was a kid I was one of those getting yelled at for tak8ngy toys apart lmao. But honestly I've learned most of what I have from exactly just that and not actually understanding how circuitry, software, programming and all of it even truly work. I recently got a flipper zero and put together a simple wifi development board with an ESP32WROOM and flashed it with Kokos instructions as well as your videos help. Afterwards I got a NRF24 and set it up for mouse jacker. But then I got a little to rambunctious and bought a TFT touch display and and some jumper wires. Attempting to wire it the first time I failed after the wiring Diagram I found didn't work right. After finding another wiring Diagram from your discord I was able to successfully wire it and power up marauder on the display. Buttttt I hadn't realized I bought a 2.4" display and not the 2.8" display. So all though it's still somewhat functional and the screen does look correctly oriented the touch is however not correct it's about an inch off calibration. I have ordered another display of the correct size but I am still going to attempt to learn how to configure it properly with the 2.4" screen just as another thing to experience and learn. Anyways your videos have been a great help and are always very interesting. Thanks aloy for the content and sorry for the long comment lol 😅

@@TalkingSasquach Oh imagine if it had online multiplayer... Either 2 users can attack one or 4v4 or even just 1v1 like on that one game for the phone Hacked. I used to play it but stopped because you can only get so far without putting money into it.
