when I transfer videos from my iPhone xr to laptop (windows 10) the footage quality always deteriorates. How can I avoid this to happen?

Hmm, so you can't use airdrop. How do you transfer the footage now? I'd suggest using iTunes or maybe a service like Dropbox. Those should make sure the quality is the same.

So I understand using 4K for videos but what would the difference be if I wanted 60 frames instead or 30 or 24?

60 will be smoother, and 30/24 will be movie-like. It’s all up to personal preference. If possible I’d advise you to try both and see what you like best.

I might be too late with this question/comment but what settings should I use for recording on my iPhone XR? I know there’s 4K at 60fps and stuff but when I upload the video it looks terrible. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Hi I’d suggest 1080p for a ‘real’ look. Another tip might be to shoot in 4K and downscale in editing to 1080p. That way you can zoom in if you want to without losing quality + go to 25fps (or sth similar) and film in 60. That way you’re able to produce smooth slow motion.

What is the video setting you have to use on your Iphone for videos? I used 1080p at 30 fps and the image is shorter that it should be.

That's the same setting, but I tend to use 4K as well so I can scale down.

I think you actually have too much light .. too bright ... makes you look washed out. You being very light complexion, does not help. Light Defuse would help

Hey man, I recently made a video with my iphone XR at 4k 60fps, and when I uploaded it to my mac and brought it up on imovie some of the parts were lagging and it wasnt playing very smoothly. Do you know why this may have happened??

I assume this might be due to the power of your graphics card/processor. Do you have a recent mac? What you could do is try to play the clips in lower resolution in iMovie. I edit in Premiere and always put my preview in 1/2 or 1/4th of the actual quality. Your export will be fine in 4K, but your preview will be viewed in 720p for example, which takes less power from your mac.
