The BarDown squad is back for another quiz, this time on the 'All-Time Best Broadcast Calls! Can Jesse, Sam, Corwin and Julia correctly identify each moment and the announcer who made the call?
This is a very broad quiz basically a gretsky quiz with old goalies thrown in ? Or do you mean like a trophy quiz or what sorry just tryna understand this comment
Im very surprised, us slaying the dragon was the second biggest moment of the 2011 Playoffs, the biggest moment was a Canadian team was going for the cup.
I think it'd be cool to see a quiz on NHL record, especially with Ovi just climbing up the ladder of most goals scored. Definitely could get some hard ones in there too
@@zkiiffs9 Gretzky was the one who lost the puck to Yzerman when he had his legendary goal, so he is sorta remembered being there. You must be thinking of the other Blues legend, Martin Brodeur
Scratch my back with a hacksaw Arnold slick from turtle crick Get in the fast lane grandma the bingo game is ready to roll Buy sam a drink and get his dog one too
@@jasonglasser1621 They should have used "the save" call from first round 91' playoffs, against the Devils. " He just robbed Peter Statsny, he should get 5 to 10 for that". I bet they would all guess Barasso, but it was Franky P. (not even gonna try to spell his last name)
I can't believe that Jesse is in the season lead! He went from being like the 1974-75 Washington Capitals, not winning anything, a true disaster at the bottom of a bottomless pit, to possibly being the 2017-18 capitals, winning the big one! Or he'll be like the 2009-10 Capitals and choke it all away. It will probably be the latter, GO LUCA!
A partner quiz on NHL rivalries would be fun. Pairing some of the rivals in the office with questions about player or team rivalries could make for an interesting quiz. Great to see what you guys have been doing, keep it up.
The Bonus Question needs to be about why is the Sharks and the Golden Knights are rivals despite there should be three teams name the three 1. The Arizona Coyotes 2. The Los Angeles Kings 3. The Anaheim Ducks
John Walton's been doing the "Good morning, good afternoon, and goodnight" as long as I can remember. I think the only time I haven't heard it was after they won the Cup. That 2012 series where your clip was from was particularly memorable, because I had a band rehearsal for an upcoming gig, and got out just in time to catch the OT, and my buddy, also from Washington, and I just huddled around a radio in our practice studio bc we didn't have time to get to a TV. Joel Ward scoring that goal was awesome.
Damn really wished that the 2011 Dragon slayer goal was on this quiz. (Vancouver defeated Chicago). Personally my favourite hockey moment I've ever seen and the call was magnificent. Great video nonetheless 👏
I got transferred from the Philadelphia office to the Chicago office that year. The night Kane scored that goal was my first night in town. I hadn't even unpacked my stuff but I was walking around NW Indiana in a Chris Pronger jersey looking for a bar to watch the game. Found it in the last half of the third period. The bar erupted. Some woman I had never met just grabbed me and gave me a big ole bear hug before noticing I was wearing the enemy colours. She was three sheets to the wind, I was just getting started.
Quiz idea: Playoff overtime goals, which would allow a few different styles of questions. For example: the question states the teams involved, the year, and (if necessary) the game in which the goal was scored, or maybe it specifies that it was a series winning goal, and answer is the player who scored it. Another example would be questions where a player is named who scored a particular OT goal, the year in which it was scored and (if necessary, if it's a player with more than 1 playoff OT winner), the opponent (so the answer is which game / if it won the series or not) or the game (answer would be the opponent / if it won the series or not).
An NHL in pop culture quiz would be cool (movie references, song lyrics, etc.). Like having a question about Future being 'about goals like Ovechkin' would be just an interesting topic
For me who wants to do PxP as a career this quiz is something I love and most of the broadcasters I have looked up to. And can ace this quiz! I am also doing baseball for my community college
Oh also LEGENDARY Canucks call “burrows slaying the dragon” in game 7 overtime against Chicago, totally include that if you’re doing another quiz like this!
A quiz on previous bardown quizzes. You ask questions like controversies in quizzes great moments. Things like that Post edit Jesse has three wins. This is his year
Great video, the only call missing is Mika Zibanejad's OT winner in the juniors! Quiz idea: similar to naming every franchise leader in points quiz, name every NHL teams leader in points for the 2021-22 season
You guys should do a quiz with video clips called “Goal or save?” Use some clips of amazing goals/saves, and pause the clip before the shot is taken. Could be interesting to see you guys try and guess based on the positioning, based on the player, based on the goalie what the outcome is. For more famous clips those who are knowledgeable about all time great saves/goals will already know without guessing.
Quiz about weirdest NHL stats/ records? Rob Talks Hockey has been dropping some really awesome videos regarding the topic! NHL is full of mind-boggling records and I'd love to see you guys tackling weird records around the league.
Z, you know what would be really saucy…a quiz about the great American state of Delaware!! Y’all are amazing btw, so so happy to have another quiz video 🙌🏽
For the fourth question I think the Bruins announcer was referencing the 2018 Radio call from John Walton when Kuzy scored the overtime winning to eliminate the Penguins. "THE DEMONS HAVE BEEN EXORCISED! GOOD MORNING, GOOD AFTERNOON, AND GOODNIGHT PITTSBURGH!" One of my favorite calls in Caps history
You should do a quiz where you choose a random draft pick from the last like 5-7 drafts and whoever guesses the player drafted closest to that pick gets a point, or something like that🤷♂️ could be pretty hard.
Next quiz bonus round question. No Finnish NHL players have been drafted 1st overall, but four have been drafted second overall. Name all four. Answer: Kari Lehtonen, Alexander Barkov, Patrik Laine and Kaapo Kakko
You did the AHL, now lets see the ECHL quiz. SO many NHL players end up there or have gone through it. Plus there are so many iconic franchises in the ECHL. PLEASE show me the ECHL quiz I have been begging for!
The fits are on point in this one: Sam with the beauty jersey, Jesse rockin the Petes T, Corwin with the sick throwback leafs sweater, and Julia with the jays crew neck 😍
I've watched all of these quizzes even though I don't follow hockey at all. So I was glad to finally be able to know the answer to a question, and a final boss at that! And all I needed was a Spanish guy telling me exactly what was going on.
I still think an amazing trap card or final boss would be this: Who is the only reported player to have his name on the outside AND inside of the Stanley cup?
The Trap Card question guess: Rangers-Ducks game in NYC when Wes McCauley made a good goal call after the Rangers were on commercial break during Wes trying to say the call
@@theawayfan6052 I know it’s the avs devils wings years of dominance around 95-99 but I can’t remember each team they beat. I remember the caps because I didn’t think they’d been a successful team till ovi but got taught I was wrong. Oh Florida has got to be in there and maybe Detroit/avs/jersey got swept despite sweeping in another year.
mike lange and his lange-isms were my favorite. i'm definitely going to miss him! but i really hope he enjoys retirement, well deserved! (also the call on spanish when they said canada i was like ah yeah i got this lol)
Bonus question: Only two players have ever been featured on the cover of an NHL video game for three separate franchises. One is Wayne Gretzky, who is the other?
Loved this quiz. I think you can probably do a few more famous goal call quizzes. Could even get specific by doing something like OT playoff goals. And have to name the two teams playing and what game and year.
