Plus their early franchise days they had that calligraphy "D" on the white jersey, which is why they used that for a Winter Classic at some point, and technically since that franchise has been active since those original 6 days....
Some mistakes to note: Arizona also puts their captain's letters on the other side, Florida actually has used 5 logos on the front because on their new jerseys the away jersey says "Florida" and the home says "Panthers", the Flyers used a slightly altered logo on their third jerseys in the early 2000's, and the Red Wings used various different winged wheels in their early years.
Some, NOT ALL, of the Winged Wheel logo differences were not intentional. They were hand/machine embroidered. Each jersey in the earlier years didn't look "exactly the same" as the one hanging up in the locker next to another one. As machines got more precise for embroidery, and faster so less people doing them, made them more consistent, uni to uni, year to year. In my business, I had done some custom stencils for high school and college varsity jackets. Basically the same process.

For question 7, Detroit is not the only team with Captaincy letters on the right side of the jersey, Arizona starting doing this with their new jerseys a couple seasons ago.
yes and winnipeg jets would count as a non changing logo. i mean, the new jets team is technically a different team than the old once because its a different franchise
The Kings also had a Jersey that featured gradient coloring. You can look up la kings rare jersey, or burger king kings jersey. The Blues also had that insanely wild (which most consider ugly) jersey with the trumpet on it that has a purple/blue to white gradient effect.
i’m not so sure about that last question. the Red Wings have used 4 separate variations of a winged wheel since being renamed the red wings from the detroit falcons in 1932.
For the last question, the Devils have always had the same logo. The color of the circle around it changed from green to black some time in the 90’s, not sure if that counts.
Before the Wings were called the Red Wings, they were called the Cougars, then they were the Falcons. In these periods of time, they did, indeed have two different logos, including only having Detroit spelled out on their jerseys, and also having and old English style d. It wasn't until the final name change to the Red Wings that the team was given the winged wheel as their logo, and even then it has had changes made to it since that time
Also, for the question about the crests, Philadelphia is also technically incorrect. For a while they had that alternate orange jersey with the silver chrome circle in the crest.

I have one problem with the final question. If it includes the entire history of the franchise, then there was a time before Detroit was the Red Wings, where they were the Cougars and the Falcons, where they used a different logo. Also, the winged wheel is different now than when it was first created, like the Leafs logo has been changed
In Nick's defense for the gradient fade question, i think he was referring to the Carolina Hurricanes military appreciation jersey, since that's what came to mind for me as a Canes fan. Granted that's not a gradient fade in retrospect, but just modern camouflage, or whatever its called.
Sam Stout same logo, slight differences in colour shouldnt count because different brands of jerseys print off slightly different variations of colours too, so I dont think that would have counted tbh. Id say the devils have had the same logo since their beginning

@@Rochestadelphia if you scroll down theres a part that says logo timeline it says they have only changed the colour of the orange dot, that does not count as a logo change so your wrong and that logo is an alternate logo was never there main logo or secondary
Fun fact about the mustard Preds jersey (which being a Preds fan I owned and loved). The logo on the front of that jersey was not the alternate logo the team wanted to use. The Predator skull shoulder logo was supposed to be the original alternate logo, but the league vetoed it because they deemed it was too aggressive for young fans. So the Preds scrambled to create a board approved new logo and went with the animated predator that went on the mustard jersey. I’ve also heard the third Jersey was supposed to be light blue as well, but I cannot 100% confirm that.
Also....The Wings and Flyers have both changed their crests. The Red Wings altered the design of their winged wheel in the 40's and technically used different logos on their home and road sweaters until 1984. The shading was flip-flopped on each jesery. And the Flyers used that ugly futuristic style logo on their alternate sweater from 2002-'07
The stars on soccer jerseys are (for the most part) for continental titles. So you look at European clubs and they have stars that equal their UEFA Champions League titles as opposed to just their domestic league title
So about the soccer stars on the logo: this is only done with national teams and World Cup wins. Italian teams do this for every 10 championships. TFC also did it when they won one title which is a bit egregious.
for the last question: Winnipeg Jets (2011) is also a team with an unchanged logo in their history! (EDIT: I understand the 70s and 80s Winnipeg Jets had a different emblem but they're technically two completely different franchises!)
14:08 since it is established that the only requirement for the stars is there are 'stars somewhere on the Jersey', the correct answer could also include: The Wild (as stated below have the sun and the north star, which may not be star shapes but are stars) and the Dallas stars, who have a star as part of their logo that is on the jersey 3 times (they have one championship, making 3 'two too many')
