I agree. The only reason I'd use this product is because I don't want to hurt my own pet that's being attacked in the process. But 1000% agree and would use a gun to save them.

I sprayed 2 pitbulls that wanted to attack me with SABRE Red Crossfire 1.3%MCs, and they were rubbing their face on the ground. Another time, a boxer breed of dog tried biting me while riding my bike & sprayed it with FOX Labs 1.4 and it worked like a charm. If a dog is trying to bite me, I'm using the strong stuff.

"Under duress". Yeah, I was walking, calmly, on the beach, and got assaulted by a woman's 5 dogs. There was no duress, and I wish I had pepper spray. No matter if it was safe for the dog or not. People who can't control their animals are more dangerous than a single rabid dog. I received NO apology from the owner, only sass, it was infuriating.

Agreed! The dog gets whatever you have to defend yourself. If it gets a human dose of pepper spray too bad. Who’s going to carry a bunch of different strength sprays and ask for a pause while you find the “approved” spray for dogs!1

A darling 8# dog (minding her own buisiness) was attacked by an out of control doberman, at our local park. She later died from her injuries. I bought several pepper gel sprays with whistles. You come for me, my dogs or my friends' dog-----YOU ARE GETTING THE GEL!

@@TinaKVaLant I considered it but I already carry Sabre Red pepper spray for the crackheads and don't want to put another spray (just for dogs) on my belt. I just have too much on my belt already....gun, reload, pepper spray, flashlight. I have everything except a badge, cuffs, and portable. Maybe if I get any fatter I can carry dog-specific pepper spray. LOL

Richard Anderson In 2020 there were 45 deaths in the USA from dog attacks. There is only one fatal bear attack per year in the US. 4.6 million dog bites were treated in hospitals.

Agree. They want to be able to market it for dogs to make that extra $$ so they sell us weakened spray. I won't use it. I take a can of Saber Maximum Police Strength spray with UV marking gel on all of my walks. So after I make a report to the police on the dog that attacked me and the owner claims their dog did no such thing they can use a UV light and verify it. I also carry a taser. If the spray doesn't stop it, it's getting a taser to the spine.

My goal is to protect from aggressive dogs while riding a bike and make them and their owners remember therefore I deliberately chose the strongest grizzly bear spray with ~4% MC content. That will show them for sure. No half measures.

I can ABSOLUTELY PROMISE you, without a doubt, people better have their mutt on a leash because if any mutt comes up to me and doesn't stop if the owner calls it, I WILL SPRAY IT. I D G A F how much it hurts the mutt. That's the owner's fault for not keeping it on a leash and letting it walk free to bother or potentially threaten the general public.

They differ? Yeah, they're weaker. It's the only way they can get around marketing it for dogs but I've read - seen - heard too many instances of these dog sprays not stopping an attacking dog due to the formula being too weak. It's sad that Saber, the very pepper spray brand I use, is doing this too.

Exactly! I've never understood the lighter formulation argument. We are talking about using this instead of shooting a dog. If that dog don't start nothing, there won't be nothing. I'm hitting them with human spray, and that dog will live another day. I'm okay with that approach.

Anyone know if I can buy sabre red in UK? I have a young chow chow and although he should be able to defend himself with the strength of him he's just so gentle and was attacked by a collie and a Staffie in space of 2 months he never fought back I had to kick dogs off will this stop the next one in there tracks?

Just purchased an arsenal of these products. Coached by my son who is Navy Special Ops. The big concern is not the attacking dog be injured, but stopping the dog fast before it reaches your hands or face. If we get this product on ourselves, it will render us defenseless. I purchased it for three reason, first to protect my dog from attack by other dogs. As we can see, that is very risky because if we spray our own dog it will not end well. Second is to defend against attack on my dog by rabid or compromised wildlife. Again, risky to my own dog. Third, bought large cans of the strongest stuff Sabre sells to stop our bull in event of emergency. He is huge and miserable. We have no idea if the spray would stop him in time, but it gives us hope. Be careful out there, people have told me from first hand experience.....don't get it on yourself or your own pet. Will be a disaster.
