I’d just use regular strength pepper spray. Long term damage is not of my concern, being able to protect myself is, and the only way to ensure best results is to use the most potent product possible.

Just got both the keychain and belt version. My Shiba was attacked on a walk Sunday night by 2 pit bulls that had gotten out of there yard. Thankfully I was able to get him to the vet before he bled out, and he’s now recovering. They came up friendly, tails wagging, then were on him so fast that evening if I had a gun, I likely won’t have been able to safely get a shot off without hitting my own dog.

I used one of the larger cans of Protector yesterday, on a pit-bull mutt mix that charged me and my 3 Rottweilers while out for a walk. (2- 8 month old 75 lb pups, and their 100 lb mother.) The Rottweiler's could have easily taken him and the other mutt mix running with him, but why let it get to that point next to a busy road. Shot at him and missed the first time he charged, then he came back even more determined. Got him with just a little bit of over spray, (hard to aim while holding back 250 lbs of pissed off Rottweiler) and that is all it took to get him to leave the area quickly. Nobody's hurt, and no police report to file for having to shoot a dog in suburbia. (And,) no lawyers to pay for.

If I have a pit bull running straight at me, I'd trust this product way before those cheap ultrasonic devices.

This stuff works don't even have to spray the dog just get it in the air dogs nose is so sensitive they won't go anywhere near it I always give a quick warning spray normally just a light whiff is enough to send any dog packing I know from experience there's lots of strays at my cottage and it isn't safe to walk alone without dog spray and I give a warning spray just because I've had to spray a dog to stop him from attacking before and even though I had no choice I still felt terrible about it after I can still hear the yelping

I can't r read these comments too traumatic. I just got some dog pepper spray, coywolfs in my sister's backyard. I think the big deal here is capsaicin concentrations. If you move up to bear spray, you're going to get far more distance and maybe two or three hundred percent more concentration. I've just read my Sabre label and the concentration is. 50 which is weak. I've had some very big dogs, uncontrolled around my little senior. I've just been fortunate. Pit Bulls r banned in my neck of the woods. When in doubt I pick my dog up! A few times I had large inquisitive paws on the top of my back shoulders, and I'm over 6 feet tall.

Lesson: you should only get this product to protect YOUR DOG from other aggressive dogs, your safety is of no consequence of course. >_>

I have this pepper spray and was approached by a german shepherd, I didn't set the spray off because it was windy that day and the dog didn't attack, so how can this be effective on windy days?

I live in Australia and really want this product I recently own a Jack Russell mini fox terrier puppy she 7 months now and I have never been attacked by so many dogs since getting her.. within the last month 6 dogs attached us.. the first incident was to huskies running at us and surrounding us blindsided me from my side and the owner was holding them back but it was too late bite my little dog in seconds the second day the same incident happened but it was three small Jack Russells but I quickly Ward them off and lifted my dog from her leash the third incident was yesterday was to Bulls off leash no owners in site I really had enough of dogs in my area trying to come at me and my puppy very irresponsible owners if something happens to your dog don't blame me as my dog is on leash I really want this product how do I buy the biggest product longest distance i want the most effective product sent here to Sydney Australia I am being assaulted while enjoying my walk and I am being harassed by other dogs. It's not on i need to defend my self from any further danger and attacks happening in future.

If its citronella its better used as a mosquito repellent. It will only temporarily distract a dog and you may get bitten by the attack dog.

i was once doing some wood cutting because im a lumberjack and then suddenly i heared a grizzly bear charging at me. luckily i got my chainsaw with me so i simply pointed it to the chest of the bear and started cutting all his vital organs with the chainsaw till he died. even though i survived this i was still scared to death afterwards

In Greece you are not allowed to use any kind of self defense Sprays (and any other well known self defense tools), it's illegal. You have to defense with your own hands. In Greece defense defenses you.
