The ramming wasn't intentionally just wasn't used to you slowing down so fast because you hopped on the gunner seat. You're diving at too steep of an angle. You don't want to be completely vertical because the bombs will fall behind you (as they did in your attempts). The best way to tell that you are too steep is when you spin around to keep your target (like you kept doing in the video). Notice on your last successful run that you went in at a more shallow angle and aimed slightly above the tank. This allowed the bombs to follow the parabolic path of gravity onto the target. I believe you can perfect this with time.

I love the siren so much... I want to buy this game just to fly the stuka. Holy shit, it sounds amazing.

Just FYI, no the Ju-87 "Stuka" did not dive at a 90 degree angle. They would fly over their target, turn and then attack from an 80 degree angle. Overall procedure would be carried out as such: Climb to 4600m above sea level (this would need to be adjusted for terrain issues on some missions) Acquire the target Fly past the target Set the pull-out altitude on the contact altimeter Close the radiator Throttle back the engine Open the ventilation air supply to the windscreen (to prevent possible misting as the aircraft enters the moist air lower down) Finally he switched on the wind-driven ‘Screamer’ (if required) Begin to roll over while also turning Enter an 80 degree dive towards the target Extend the dive brakes (AKA air brakes) Once 1000m above sea level (this would need to be adjusted for terrain issues on some missions) release the bomb Level out Climb back up to 4600m above sea level Get back to a friendly airfield To dive at 90 degrees causes the aircraft to spin round, meaning that it would be extremely difficult for the pilot to aim for the target accurately and also means that when the pilot pulls up from the dive, they are not necessarily going to facing towards their front so it would be inefficient fuel and time wise. I've been flying since bf4 and loved flying jets and helis in that game. Bf1 in my opinion was a little too easy to learn the planes and master thou. From everything I've seen it looks like the planes need a huge buff. Btw love the videos they are always halirous.

When dive bombing a stuka, when you go 90 degrees the gunsight is where the bomb lands, 45 below the sight and 180 below the pilot

Been playing since Battlefield BC2. Finally get to fly iconic WW2 aircraft. BF5 aircraft are nerfed into oblivion. Faceplant.

This needs a buff. I feel like when the siren is active during dive bombing, you should get a damage buff to encourage players to dive bomb in the Stuka.

The fact that the Jericho trumpets actually play as you dive in the stuka makes me want this game SO much more lmao

The most amazing thing about Stukas were the automatic dive brakes that allowed the plane to pull up even if the pilot lost consciousness.

The bomb that the JU-87 carries should be able to knock out or at least severely damage a tank instantly with a direct or nearby hit. Also on a side note, I’m still kinda annoyed that they added the Sturmtiger as the standard issue tank destroyer for the Axis team instead of any other German tank destroyer like a Hetzer or Stug variant. They could’ve at least made it a squad commander vehicle like the Crocodile Churchill but it takes forever to reload and does massive damage along with splash damage.

The Stuka death whistle, meant for infantry to “panic” and be terrified, was also used for some artillery shells to make a loud deathly whistle. Terrifying indeed.

Stuka + proper damaging bombs + unsuspecting tank = *MASSIVE GIGGLE FACTOR*

you can’t go at such a steep angle it has to be a bit shallower that way you can get closer and still pull up. Stuka pilots historically would roller over when they acquired a target and then to increase speed

the noise the plane is making when it's diving is coming from something called a Jericho trumpet. the trumpets were located just above the wheels on the landing gear

The Stuka was primarily used as a psychologycial weapon against infantry with the sirens and stuff rather then against tanks

A slow attack like dive-bombing cannot do much if the tank driver can repair his tank between 2 strikes.

What you did with the V-1 was a real tactic during WW2! Risky spitfire pilots would tip the end of their wing onto the one of the V-1 so it would spiral down and not hit a major city. It was very dangerous though since the spitfire could also become out of control.

The “ 90’ dive bomb+ kamikaze” method is always effective in hard times

the stuka wasnt mainly for anti tank purposes, the germans had other things to fill that role like the panzerfaust and tank destoyers like the nashorn, dicker max, sturmgeshutz III etc. what the stuka did well was attacking radio stations, like it did much in the battle of britain, and psychological warfare as the scream of the jericho siren was terrifying, and not only on the plane but sometimes strapped onto the bombs. the stuka can kill a tank but it takes precision, and unlike people think, the bombs werent dropped at 90 degrees, that was suicide. most pilots dropped it while pulling up and they aimed short of their target. hopefully this helps

When I'm in the middle of combat against the Brits and it's not going well, that siren is music to my ears.

The guy scoping the tank needs to keep looking at it instead of looking up at you.

You don't even know how dive bombers work, do you? They would dive at angles between 45° and 60°. All the way up to 80°, but not any steeper than that. If you did this in real life you'd end up dead because you wouldn't be able to pull up in time so you would crash into the ground. Oh, you ended up dead in the game anyway, nvm.

Hey guys, what do you think of the Dive-bombing, and overall Air-To-Ground in this game so far? Bear in mind, It's early alpha access. Still 4 months from release with more development to be done. I found Dive-bombing to be SO HARD to get a direct hit with. With almost NO splash damage, i think Dice should improve splash for sure!!

The Stuka should actually be a tank buster. Maybe only give it one bomb, but it makes no sense if a tank isn't massacred by a dive bomber.

Dive bombing is much more precise but not easy. Here's what should be done: - you must see you target through the hole at the bottom under your feets (I don't know if it's reproduced in the game); - when the target disappear from the hole (while you fly straight to it at 0° angle): flip the plane upside down and start diving; - use the airbrake; - check your angle by looking on the side, there must be a diagram helping you showing the angle of the plane looking at the horizon; - release your bomb leading your target if necessary - fly away and escape AA

The stuka dive bomber was fitted with an air raid siren, the noise you here is the siren not just the engine winding up, it was intended for psychological warfare.......it worked....

The noise was part of a siren that made the noise when it was diving it was to demoralize the troops that were targeted and to troops who fear the sound was easily recognizable

Fact: The "STUKAS" were designed to automatically pull up from a dive if the pilot got unconscious.

Spitfires actually intercepted V1s in WW2, but ofcause not by mean of a kamikaze. They used the swirl of wind that forms ontop of wingtips of aircrafts. they flew up close and pushed one of the "wings" on the V1 with that "air cushion" upwards so it would tip over and decent pre-maturly

finally now that there is a game with a stuka in it where you can hear the siren really well (pc got war thunder, world of planes, etc) that console players (who outnumber pc players) have access to, meaning some good footage and lots of it

It's a Stuka. Stukas have airbrakes designed for you to get very close to the ground. Just remember to pull up!

Pilot error. I dive tanks all the time. Love seeing a ton of ground troops with a tank on them and you destroy the tank support.

He needs to follow his dive all the way through that's how stukas were designed

It looked pretty easy to me, the first couple you missed you had placed the tank directly on your cross hair however when you aligned the brown thing onto the tank.

they need the stuka to be louder so its scarier and the v1 rocket so everyone in a great distance can hear it but not the whole map, the v1 rocket should be heard everywhere
