Can you Submit a Conference Paper to a Journal? 

This video discusses the issues behind submitting a conference paper to a journal for review and prospective publication. Many society journals such as those of the ASME have a systematic process by which an ASME conference paper can be refereed for journal publication following the conference review process. This allows for a fast track publication to an established journal and also saved time for the authors. However, some journals insist that the paper should not have been anywhere else, including in any conference.
