I hit a whale a few years ago en-route from Dana Point to Alamitos. We were right out in front HB Pier at about 6pm. Saw the whale off in the distance and like you did, we went way out of his path....or so we thought or it could have been another whale. Loudest thunk you can ever imagine. Sheared the port prop, bent the shaft and cracked the thru-hull. Limped it back to our slip in Alamitos while taking on water. Bilge pumps kept up long enough for us to stop leak. Repair was 15k. Thank god for insurance.
@@JakeSea I had a 95,,,most comfortable and sat so nice ,,,mine had blue hull with twin Cummins,,,exhaust all underwater,,no smell of diesel,,cruised at 18 knots
