See I love Yayoi Kusama so eccentric. But I’m personally just not a fan of the rainbow dots on the bags it looks too “clowny” for me but respect the art ✨✨

Totally! For some reason I don’t mind the rainbow dots on the clothes but I prefer the black and white for the bags or even the men’s monochromatic colour scheme 🥰🥰🥰

When I was in Naoshima , Japan I saw Kusama's yellow pumpkin sculpture and went to a Kusama store and bought a yellow scarf for around 20 usd. I would rather pay for a ticket to Japan and go back than buy a ridiculous mini pochette for over 1,100.

There's some nice pieces in this collection and I'd like to see it in store, but the influencer advertising is really ruining it for me. I actually didn't know that luxury brands sent influencers free pieces, it just cheapens it for me.

I tried on the bucket hat today, it’s amazing! I would wear it reversed on the black monogram side, there’s a Kusama signature stitch on the black side, and leave the b&w polka dots peaking from the inside. It’s so cute! Size S for you Jess. I almost bought it. I ended up with the bandeau with the colourful dots. If I were to have just one piece in this collection, the bandeau is the one that won’t blow my budget, plus I can make my other bags look “Kusama” by tying it. Also looks great around the neck with a plain top.

When I saw the sneak peeks and the influencer tags, it was overwhelming! But when I saw the collection in person, the dot vibe is entrancing! I don’t like the Twister colors on the monogram, but much prefer the Infinity dots for a lasting vibe that’s actually wearable. I agree w you - I love the Alma BB, the silks, and the Kirigami set!!! In Epi leather, these pieces will last forever.

As a crazy cat lady I was so mad I missed out on Grace Coddington's collection. I wanted the speedy so bad! And still Often look on the pre love market but they're so overpriced. That collection and of course all the Murakami will forever be my favourites

Kusama is my favorite artist and the red/yellow pumpkins are very representative. I didn't buy a bag though as I just don't spend that much on one bag but if that wasn't the case, I agree that the alma was one of the best. I did purchase the red epi + white dots b6 notebook cover, which I'll use on the regular. So disappointed in the multi color dots on the monogram. it just did not look very quality. If the small rings agenda cover were to come out with a pumpkin on monogram, I'd be all over that. I'm a stationery/planning/journaling nerd.

I've watched your videos for a while now, and it is SO nice to see you discuss something other than Hermes AND to see you be NICE. Maybe it's new for 2023, but up until now, you've always seemed to hate on everything but Hermes. But this video was great! And really informative. You know more about LV than I do. I may sound stupid for this but I don't get her art. I adore art and actually draw and paint in my free time. My dad was also a manga/ graphic novel artist, so he always inspired me too. I don't get the dots 😂😅 it's so simplistic and I feel anyone could paint and create these looks and Kusama is apparently the most famous artist in Japan.

I'm BTS Army and the group LOOOOOVES Louis Vuitton (and of course, other luxury brands). They have been spotted wearing a ton of LV and have been "House Ambassadors" for the brand. J-Hope in particular has posted on social media getting Kusama collab gifts directly from LV, but he is the biggest fashion plate of the group and loves shopping. While he was obviously given items for free, I do think he has genuine interest and appreciation for the pieces and wears them proudly. Several BTS members have been wearing LV beanies on multiple occasions. One thing I believe indicates an influencer's true feelings about gifted items is if I see them wearing or using them frequently and for a longer period of time. But yes, it can be a little murky with influencers constantly getting free items. Would they still feature the item if it wasn't sent to them? Would they purchase it with their own money? The Kusama collection isn't really my style, but I admire and respect the artist and their work.

I think it's off putting that they are putting relatively young people (kpop idols at that, that most do not really care for) as ambassadors. Majority of population is older, so why are they marketing luxury goods to young people that generaly do not have money like that anyway?!

@@teoleno4019 While I'm Korean-American and grew up in the U.S., I have noticed following South Korean culture from stuff like Kdramas - that Koreans are VERY into luxury goods and labels. CNBC did a recent article titled: 'South Koreans are the world’s biggest spenders on luxury goods' "Morgan Stanley analysts explained the demand for luxury goods among South Korean buyers is driven both by an increase in purchasing power as well as a desire to outwardly exhibit social standing." This explains why these brands are marketing to Asia. Yes, it's quite ridiculous. If you watch a Kdrama, there's tons of blatant product placement for high end brands. (ie: Maserati is a car sponsor and every character - no matter their social status - drives around in a Maserati) I also saw another article that explained that South Koreans on average have very high household debt (Squid Game, anyone?) compared to other developed nations. From what I understand, many Koreans are going deeply into debt on luxury purchases. So these companies are using the Korean influencers to market to a demographic very willing to borrow money to purchase luxury goods...

I agree most new collections are over hyped! Apart from the ready to wear pieces I have from order (my 1st LV RTW ever) I was considering the pumpkin silk square to frame on my walls. (I have done this with previous collections such as game on). The pokka dot theme isn't me tbh...

I hated this collection but the red Alma bb grew on me. Of course it’s the only one sold out. I wonder though if the painted dots side trunk would be more valuable in the future. Of course I’d have to leave it unused. It’s an expensive investment but might pay off.

This is one of the WORST LV collections EVER. The dots are so juvenile. Circus clown/Twister vibes. I’d be embarrassed to carry any of these pieces, particularly the colored spots. Looks like a pre-school project. There are so many other talented artists out there LV could colab with. People are BEGGING for a Murakami collection -so what’s the deal LV?? I’m really hoping for a fun summer collection!!! Something beachy and FUN PLEASE🙏🏼

I don’t want to tempt you, but … the Loewe bunny bag is very “you”, especially as winter will be coming in the southern hemisphere (well, if it as mild as our winter, it'll not be that cold) … oh, and have you seen the Hammock nugget bunny bag? When I saw it on the website I had to think of you as it has got that playful twist while still retaining that classic and timeless appeal. As for the LV collection, I have to be honest that this wouldn’t be something I'd go for. The infinity dots are ok, but the multicoloured versions …, just no. But hey, that's just me and I am man who likes is clean and minimal (says the guy who just got a bag with a colourful tartan by Vivienne Westwood 😂). Admittedly, the more I see the dots, the more I can understand their appeal. Send help! 😂

Hard pass. I'm not a fan of items that look juvenile. I don't see the longevity of the pieces. I do appreciate the art, but I'd rather see it in a home decor piece. The LV logo itself is not my cup-of-tea and adding dots to it seems too much.

Influencers who were gifted LV kusama items are basically paid to promote the collection. They have management agencies behind them who created the illusion of a luxurious and perfect lifestyle for these individuals. That’s got nothing to do with me. I can’t be bothered with their fake reviews and opinions. This collection has pretty items but I don’t love them enough to make me want go to the store. 🫤
