Can You Use Glock Gen 5 Magazines In A Gen 3

Thx for the info on the Glock 19. I assume the answer to my question is yes, but please comment. Does the gen5 mag fit a gen3 Glock 17?

Do you know if the Gen 5 single stack magazines will fit the Glock 26 Gen 3 for us Californians? I contacted Glock about it and they said the G17 gen 5 mags fit G19,G26,G45,G47, and G49. But I think they meant the 17 rounders. I’ve seen only one video about it and a comment said that if you hold the magazine just a little bit it will jam and all that so I’m just curious if it’s even compatible and if it is then will it be reliable. @@HbkChazz No, I'm saying you can use any Gen Mags with a Gen 5 as long as you don't switch the mag release.

@progun45 It's a P940C. Modeled on the Glock 19. I think the follower tilts. I'm not sure. I bought a glock brand mag today so I'll see if that does the same thing. If it still pushes the slide catch up before the last round is fed, do you have any advice?

@@krow7402 I would take it to a local gunsmith. Seems something isn't aligning.

@@progun45 I'm the only gunsmith in town. Small town. And I'm just a hobby gunsmith, self taught. I've wanted to become Glock certified, it could be good money in this area. Lots of Glocks, no Glock armorers. I can insert an empty magazine with the slide locked back and I can see the follower in the mag touching the slide stop. Now, it should do that because the mag is empty. But with one round in the mag, it still lifts the slide stop just like if the mag was empty.

Yes it will. You may need to change the baseplate to a Gen 3 or 4 baseplate but the Mag will work with no problems.

Yes you can. The new Gen 3's ship with Gen 4 mags.
