Thanks for the feedback on this video! But some of you are taking this way too seriously 😅 this is just a fun exercise we did with our team, this is not a true test of what makes a good dentist. Thanks for watching!
@@topgroyal2322 if you're REALLY bad I think you can rip the bloon as you put it in... Otherwise think it's just a FUN exercise as they already stated 😂
Yup it’s all about tension the top and bottom darker parts aren’t so stretched so you can easily put a hole in it and they will just compress back to normal
Right? They always push out the lidocaine so fast and I get a hard bubble in my cheek(or wherever they had to put it) and it hurts more when they go quickly!
People need to understand that it’s 100% not because technique and you can do this yourself. There are two strong points in the balloon at the very top and the very bottom.
For anyone unsure. They are puncturing the balloon in an unstressed area of the latex. Because the latex isn’t stretched and therefore not stressed, the latex isn’t being ripped as soon as there is a puncture, unlike in the one case where she goes straight into the stretched side.
@@ainzuru5909I wonder the science behind this. They all naturally picked the top or bottom. Could they do it in the middle? But the middle is the most stretched out so I’d assume it would pop
For anyone who doesn’t get it: the thickest parts of a balloon are the ‘nip’ at the top and the tied bottom because they have the most leftover rubber and so are less tense. This not only allows you to poke straight through it like magic but it might even be able to temporarily ‘close’ and not leak air once the needle is removed
@@simonn4924 no you need to rewatch the video. They all pierced it at the ends. Either near the part where you blow the balloon or the direct opposite side. The girl who popped it pierced it slightly lower than it should be that's why it popped... You could try doing it with a needle and a balloon if you don't believe us
If you look closely, the doctors are poking the balloon at the top and bottom, which are the most rigid parts because the plastic isn’t stretched as much as the rest
It’s not about how skilled you are, it’s about where on the balloon you inject. You can only poke holes near the knot or on the dark spot opposite the knot. Anywhere else and it pops
La señora le pincho en un lugar muy sensible , los otros le daban en la punta o la parte de atrás y en eso lados no mucha presión , porque cree que todos pinchaban en el mismo lugar y ninguno pinchaba dónde pincho la señora
@@Lifeasladyyoriino, all of them did. The very top and very bottom of the balloon (where the knot is) are slightly thicker there and have less tension. The only reason one of them popped was because the needle was too far away from that thicker part, where the balloon actually has tension
In fact, you need to pay attention to the puncture site with a needle. There are places where the needle cannot burst the balloon. In this case, it's not about professionalism at all
To be fair it has to be skills to some degree as well, it's just all the training. Personally even if I knew where to do it I would still pop that balloon 99% of the time
Still needs profession to do it, you need your left hand to be stable and the right to be coordinated to hit those spots, you're puncturing a 2mm diameter of thick rubber precisely
My dentist used to shake just before the injection. I finally asked what was wrong, why did he shake? He said he did it intentionally to distract patients. It's terrifying not distracting. I've had several different dentists over the years and they all did it. Im guessing it was taught in dental school here. Im still hoping there is a better reason why. If not the dentist that started the shaking hand trick is an idiot. 🤷♀️
@@rincertalol no wtf. Any first grader knows both sides of the balloon have less tension. We used to skewer bamboo sticks through both ends of the balloon in science class. Both ends are dark meaning it hasn’t been pulled tight yet. There’s a small dark dot at the top of a balloon which you can go see for yourself. If you can see through it you will pop it no matter who does it
Okay but like can we talk about how excruciatingly painful it is for them to inject numbing agent into your mouth? That hurts like literal hell!! And in the end it didn't even work on me-
I disagree. My old dentist was an old man and before he retired he got shaky. I never went to him when he was really bad but I heard that it got horrible.
Eh it didn't pop mainly cause they poked the part of the balloon that is thickest. You can literally poke a wooden skewer all the way through at the very end of the balloon and it won't pop.
@@IEatOiledUpBrusselSproutsI’ve had a nurse literally leave my left arm from elbow to hand bruised from literally smacking the living hell out of it so my veins would show only to go and place it In my wrist
I still have a fear of dentists because I got stabbed like 8 times in the mouth as a kid. I can do needles fine but no where near my mouth, no sir, ain't happening ever again.
Doesnt matter how shaky your hands are. It just matters what area you pierce. You can see a couple of people have pretty big tremors in their hands wnd they still dont pop the balloon.
For those who don’t know, it doesn’t (totally) matter how steady their hand is or how good they are at this all that matters is that they are puncturing the thicker rubber parts of the balloon, you can do the same thing with a wet toothpick
@@avramcsno they didn’t, the only one who went to the thinnest parts is the one who popped it. The top and bottom are low tension and have a lot of excess rubber. You can even try it yourself at home or look up videos of it
The area around the tied opening is a lot stronger and flexible than the others, making it easier to not pop the balloon. Props to those that were able to do it in the other open areas.
Is easier to apply when near the Knot, since the Pressure there is smaller, and the Rubber is more "Squeazed" which mean there is less chance to pop the Balloon
Tbh this challenge kinda shows which places you should and shouldn’t go to. I’ve seen a lot of videos where they pop the balloon and only maybe 1-2 pass. This whole team of workers seem great at what they do when it comes to needles.
ive had some many nurses give me shots and most of them hurt but one time this really nice nurse gave me one that was incredibly painless and super fast. she did a good job
That's why I did all injections by myself whenever it was needed. They asked at the beginning and I let them do it at first, but it's easier to find a good spot when you do it to yourself, then you feel when you hit a blood vessel or a tendon in the thigh and you stop pushing into it, but they can't feel it at first, only when there is resistance, but then it's too late.
@@IronWarrior95 that sounds terrifying, i get the depo shot once every three months and they have to put in in the muscle on my shoulder, makes it go numb for a little while, but with blood draws they always do it right in the elbow crease and it leaves a bruise everytime
I could do this 100%. However I am a diabetic and have been giving myself shots since I was 4 years old. It is very strange to have somebody else give you a shot when you are so used to it. There is a certain amount of tension in the skin that you must overcome before the needle goes in and it becomes intuitive after a while.
My dentist got around 20, 30 (maybe 50 even?), certificates because of how good he is at his job. I'm impressed, because he's in his 50s maybe and he has so many certificates throughout his years. This man is dedicated to his work. Best dentist in my personal opinion.
For those who are wondering is it skill. Well, It's not only about how good you are but it's about where you insert the needle at the bottom and at the neck of balloon rubber is thick and more elastic so it's easy. That's why only one to was the one who poked balloon lower from it's neck.
@@skaterboy708 At the end or the start of a baloon, the baloon is more thick and elastic so it doesn't blow up. That's why the only one who got it wrong inserted the needle in the middle, it's not just about skill in needles injection
This can be done by everyone it only matters that you go in from the thickest spots the top or bottom the only one that failed was the one who tried it from the side
Most doctors unless they're in specific specialties don't do a lot of injections or blood draws because especially in hospital settingsthey're focused on dx/prescribing/ordering tests etc while the nurses do the things with the needles
This is possible because they have studied physics well, it's not related to their profession. The point that was used to penetrate the baloon could not brust because of the level of elasticity.
