I live in Ontario and I ordered a 2023 Prius prime. I'm told the wait time is 12 to 18 months. I'm happy to take the $5,000 federal incentive but really, it's a waste of taxpayers money to stimulate demand when the demand far exceeds supply.
@northerntesla
@northerntesla Год назад
I find the demand/supply problem a manufacture issue. Government should still incentivize if their goal is to have everyone electric. And in my opinion the governments wastes tax payer money in many other ways, might as well get some of your money back.
@edgallagher8675

@@northerntesla I'm happy to take the incentive, but to pay someone to buy something that they'd buy anyway is a waste of money. I understand that incentives were needed until EV production reaches scale and can compete with ICE cars. But we're well past that point now.
@northerntesla
@northerntesla Год назад
@@edgallagher8675 I don't think we're there yet. When talking about EV's at work, the major sticking point is always the higher price tag. Depending on driving habits, the cost of gas and maintenance doesn't always justify the higher initial cost..

Hi there, 2 question will the Model Y long range awd apply for the 5k izev rebate ? Other question does the 5k come off at the point of sale or you get it back via cheque? Thanks
@northerntesla
@northerntesla 5 месяцев назад
It does now! As well as the Performance trim. Might not be there forever though. Tesla does it at point of sale, they’ll apply it toward your down payment. Be sure to use a referral code!

As a uber driver can ylu deduct 100% of the EV in the first year? Or would it.be better to depreciate the EV ober time?

HEY!! First time viewer!! I follow many U.S. and international TESLA RU-vidRS!! I am remiss by not boning up on what is happening with the greatest company on the globe. I picked you because of your excellent presentation and the Canadian content I need to know after being a shareholder and TESLA bull for 5 years now. Tesla globally will "EXPLODE" in many categories' that it will establish as the leader for a very long time!! Greetings from Southwestern Ontario and thanks for your ongoing efforts!! GIDDYUP!!

Thanks for watching. I agree. Their solar and battery backup options are going to explode and now with this deal with ford. You are going to be seeing Tesla charging stations everywhere like they are Shell and Esso.

What about writing off the Y first year as a sole proprietor in Ontario? Is it eligible for writing off the $55k?

I'm embarrassed to ask this but I have no where else to turn. What exactly does an EV rebate consist of? Are the provincial and federal amounts deducted at the dealership?
@northerntesla
@northerntesla 8 месяцев назад
Yes it’s deducted at the point of sales, generally used like a down payment. If you’re ordering soon be sure to use my referral code for 3 months of Full Self Driving and 6 months of free Supercharging!

I had a question and I can't seem to find an answer for it over the internet. I'm a resident of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick provides a better EV rebate, can I buy the vehicle from New Brunswick?
@northerntesla
@northerntesla 10 месяцев назад
You’ll have to have the vehicle registered in that province. So you’ll have to have an address to use. A lot of people from Ontario ask the same thing about Quebec

I live in quebec , can i buy a Used Long Range M 3 from the US. And still get Can/QC EV tax credit ? rebate
@northerntesla
@northerntesla 5 месяцев назад
The federal rebate doesn’t apply to used vehicles. I remember reading the Yukon allows importing for obvious reasons. But I don’t remember seeing anything about importing when researching Quebec. After import duty and taxes it might not be worth it.

And like many US programs smaller electric vehicles like autocycles and emotorcycles get left out in the cold by most provinces and the federal program. These incentives put smaller vehicles such as the Aptera, Nimbus, zero motorcycle etc at a huge disadvantage. Smaller transportation choices should be encouraged especially if they can replace full size cars as highway capable vehicles.
@northerntesla
@northerntesla Год назад
Very good point. I’d be interested in the Aptera but you need a motorcycle licence in Ontario.
@ccibinel
@ccibinel Год назад
@@northerntesla Stupid laws are stupid. BC has probably the least problems with a modest $2500 subsidy for motorcycles, no direct sales issues, no license type issues, and no helmet law issues. Hopefully as they get closer to selling in canada lobbying will ramp up in provinces with issues

@kennordsfan1494
@kennordsfan1494 Год назад
@@ccibinel If you use these VEHICLES on a public road way with going over 20 km/per hour then yes you need insurance and a license. There was a case that was argued and won by the BC government. No helmets, speed and no insurance is chaos. You will see more regulation coming to the electric bikes and motorcycles.
@ccibinel
@ccibinel Год назад
@@kennordsfan1494 license type = you need a motorcycle license rather than a normal class 5 (car license). Aptera is an enclosed autocycle with airbags like a car. Alberta requires a helmet and motorcycle license which is absolutely silly for anyone that looks at the vehicle for 5 seconds.

@kennordsfan1494
@kennordsfan1494 Год назад
LOLthey are a better option for the short term until our grid can handle all these electric cars. You do realize the average persons commute is less that 50 km per day? This would allow longer trips until charging networks that dont exist really in Canada would provide as high as 40% reduction in gasoline usage. For the next 10 years Plug in hybrids are the sweet spot
