Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, made announcements about improvements to strengthen family-class immigration in Canada.
The new measures include:
1. Faster temporary resident visa (TRV) processing times for spousal applicants
2. New and dedicated processing tools for spousal TRV applicants
3. A new open work permit for spousal and family class applicants
4. Open work permit extensions for open work permit holders expiring between August 1st and the end of 2023

Thank you for your video. My son is in China with his spouse. She carries a Chinese passport. Is it best he does the Invitation letter for her to come to Canada with him. We, his parents were going to , but maybe it is better he does, even though he is with her in China, not in Canada ? He is Canadian Citizen. They are only applying for a TRV at this time, not the Sponsorship as yet. They will be leaving Canada to another country after 2 weeks. Do you think they should have the rights of the other TRV for spouses, within 30 days ? She had 2 refusals before they were married. Sp appreciate your time. We are in Calgary, FYI.

6 months or earlier as indicated by the border officer on the passport. You can extend your stay in Canada if waiting for your PR.

this is NOT TRUE at all😢😢😢, I just received a letter and visa was again denied for husband who is also under sponsorship, minister said clearly on his conference few months ago that this was the plan " Famiy reunification" and both parties will exchange info but did happen in my case. Kubeir, I just got rejected today. I was asked to liquidate my funds about a month ago, and I did that and sent the updated proof of funds via webform, and from one of your videos I watched I realized that webform takes forever to get to the visa officer. Do you think there’s a solution that probably they haven’t seen the webform or just give up on this dream because to be honest I’ve never been this sad and heartbroken.

If it was an additional documents request it should have been submitted through your Gckey account itself. If you already sent it thru webform then raise another webform with request for reconsideration quoting and attaching the earlier webform you sent. Say you faced technical difficulties sending through gckey and hence sent thru webform in time.

I have a doubt…. Suppose after applying for sposue pr we get aor in 2 months, trv in one month. How much wil it take to get the work permit approved( official processing time is 141 days,ie 5 months). So total 9 months have passed. Within this time the pr application for spouse will be approved. So i think its not that useful since work lermit applications are taking 5 months

Query regarding upfront medical for EE I, my spouse and child had our medical upfront exam for study permit in Sept 2022 and the medicals are valid until 9 Sept 2023. However, we did not travel because of the delay in visa approval and are currently in India. Now, in the last draw we received an ITA, my question is can we still get the upfront medicals (although medicals are still valid for the next 3 months - only a short duration) as they are mandatory to be uploaded in the application

Hi @kubeir - My husband is a work permit holder and he got an email of 18 months extension for open for work permit since his current permit is gonna expire by end of this year. But, he doesn't have an opt-in option to choose in GCKEY (18 months of work permit). Could you suggest the right option to proceed with this?
