I'm an Asian American and shed tears of joy for this moment in her life. Canada is an awesome country with awesome people. From your sister Country, Awesome job!
As a citizen of the United States, I am proud as proud to be a neighbor of Canada as I am to be a citizen of my own Nation. I would count it an honor to give my life for the defense of Canada just as I would count it an honor to give my life in defense of my own. Whether citizens of the United States or citizens of Canada, we are all Americans.
I am North American Native with nor borders between U.S. and Canada............and rasied in the North, I show my utmost respect to this woman, she's a Champion..........that Great Red Maple Leaf..... well done!
I have always been dreaming to move to Canada. The peace, the food, their people. I currently am in the United States. It has always been my dream to step onto that beautiful land.
Canada is a wonderful country. Made up of hundreds of cultures, ethnicities, languages, etc. I'm proud of my country, my Queen, my heritage and my history. FROM A PROUD CANADIAN!
Right on! Shame indeed. Canadian's around the country are PROUD, and they should be. Anyone who thinks she's 'un-canadian' because she's not white should be ashamed because if anyone's un-canadian, it's them!
To see Carol Hunyh and some of the audience being emotional while the anthem plays shows that they are truly proud of their country!! God bless Canada!! 🇨🇦 Our friendly neighbor to the North!! Love and respect from the United States!! 🇺🇸 We along with Mexico maybe 3 separate countries, but in the end we’re all North Americans!!! 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇲🇽
No doubt, this was the most emotional moment for Canada during the Beijing Games 2008. Thank you Carol for giving us such a great moment (and victory).
Being that far away from home, as an athlete or just a spectator, hearing our anthem would definitely get me too. Although it would obviously be more for gold, seeing my flag raising to the rafters for any medal would make me cry.
