In October of 2023, the Edmonton Elks announced that moving forward, the upper bowl of Commonwealth Stadium was going to be closed off to fans.
Tickets will no longer be sold for seats in the upper tier of the historic stadium, and that fans will no longer be able to sit in what some argue are the best seats in the house. This is the first time since it was built for the 1978 Commonwealth Games that fans will be prevented from accessing upper seats.
