@@obr-ns7js you can see the parliament buildings and the federal court building in the top left corner of the screen at 1:40 . Having grown up in Ottawa and going off the angle of the shot, this was more than likely filmed at the "new" Canadian War museum located at 1 Vimy Place, Ottawa, Ontario. Its an amazing museum, i suggest you check it out if you ever have the opportunity. They have an impressive collection of military vehicles on display. This new location is a combination of the two old war museums that used to be in Ottawa. One was located beside the Royal Canadian Mint, close to the art gallery which was more of a professional set up with displays gaurded by motion detctors, ect. And one was across the street from the new location. The latter was literally just a massive ware house full of old military hardware with one old guy running the show, real quiet place. Tanks, jeeps, artillery pieces, anti aircraft guns, APCs, ect from WW2 onwards. My dad took me there as a kid, id sneak behind the ropes and man the old AA guns, traverseing and elevating the barrels with the hand wheels... Good times

The sound from this one was incredible. Unlike anything I had ever heard before. Очень приятно посмотреть ещё раз на такой приятный сердцу интерьер . Однако есть один очень важный момент - у всей военной техники тех лет шкалы приборов имеют краску типа СПД - и нужно тщательно следить чтобы ни на одном приборе не было разбито защитное стекло . В противном случае вы рискуете надышаться радиоактивной пыли .

the defector plate is above the second last road wheel attached to the hull body. about a five inch square heavy plate wedge.

В той войне мы с Канадой были союзники и воевали плечом к плечу! Советские танкисты очень ценили канадские Валентайны. Дед рассказывал, что в танке, который он получал, был полный комплект, вплоть до меховых комбинезонов и консервированного бекона, а в ящиках снаряды были пересыпаны кукурузным зерном! Им голодавшим в начале 1942г. это зерно очень помогло!

@@candlestyx8517 Well we are talking about WW2 but yeah, they were useless in Korea, they were big Shermans with better guns and don't forget the Pershing, but I like to put emphasis on the fact that the T-34 was a beast in his first years of service, his angled hull was a whole new thing that the Germans later copied to create the Panther. We can't deny that it got a lot of fails, but for me it's a beautiful tank, just below of the T-34-85.

At the time I felt the best way to describe the sound was tight steel bands being stretched over steel pulleys. I have heard that tank tracks only last around 2000 miles and I can see and hear why......Thanks for watching.

the clanking sound of the tank is the track pin deflector ramming the track pins back in place. the t34 tank tracks are unique in that the track pins are not held in place by any bolt or clip.

This tank has a diesel engine so there would not be any lead in the fuel.

i spoke with the driver after the demonstration and he was a retired army tank driver. the odd sounds are the track pins. the motor was running flawlessly at the time.

@@cocodog85 odd sound is not the track pins, odd sound is tracks being to tight or dry/rusted so every time pin is hammered in, it makes a screeching sound. I've been around T-34s in active service and not one sounded like this.

T-34 was faster than most of WW2 tanks. One of its many advantages.

@@UncleQ57 Not particularly faster.. And I laughed when they said mechanically reliable. First batches of T34 measured their reliability in hundreds of kilometers and the engine casting were know to shed shavings for the first few hours. But they had excellent cross country necessary in Russia/ Ukraine, simple to operate ( apparently you drive a tractor, you can drive a t34) and were easy to produce. @@jeffho1727 First batches of many tanks were awful, incl. Panther for example. Since, say, 1943 T-34 was very good. As for speed, Russians praised T-34 for its speed in real conditions; probably, compared to Shermans and Pz4s not to say about definitely slow Tigers and other heavy tanks

T-34 instrument scales were illuminated with an electric bulb. Using radium is too expensive for tanks. Radium had been used in a planes.

As a result, the M4 was not “up-gunned” until late in the war, and American, British, and Canadian tank crews consistently faced better German tanks. Panther and the Tiger had significantly greater range and accuracy. The German tanks were also more survivable. @@Tonyx.yt. Knife is inferior to the gun, but superior when you need to peel an apple. I'm saying this to point out that there are no absolutes. No black and white. No better or worse. Christie suspension has at least few superior attributes then torsion bars. Those are range of movement, and having a shock absorber and a coil makes critical failure less problematic. If torsion bar brakes there is nothing to hold the wheel from flapping around and causing problems. Real handicap of Christie suspension is weight limitations. Not space taken or performance like some "experts" keep repeating.

Dude, "spider" type wheels were mounted mainly on tanks from factory no.183 (mainly, cause 'full' wheels were also mounted in plant no.183 and this tank looks to be from that factory) since 1944 to the end of production, so it's not good to judge the version only by the wheels. This one is 'newer' version, cause it has one-piece commander's hatch (production of this type of hatch started in January of 1945). This T-34-85 has also some post war modifications, like the little box on the left side of hull, and aditional light on the right side.

@@canadaauroraborealis3958 it’s only around late 1942 and after where the obese cats started showing up, but these tanks were heavy, unreliable, expensive, with few standardized parts and a complex design making field repairs a hellish nightmare. They also chugged fuel like no tomorrow, which Germany at this time was in desperate need of. All these downsides were only compensated by decent frontal armor and a powerful gun. But they eventually were outclassed in EVERY way by the soviet IS-2, making them effectively obsolete.
