It is a Polish T-34/85 (built between 1952-1956). Actually this particular tank is a mixture of two tanks. During the restoration (it took 6 months) we used T-34/85M1 hull and T-34/85M2 turret. Original W-2-34M engine (38.88 litres, 500HP) P.S. Marky Mark/Urbex Polska, once again thanks for this video :)
@@matthewpham9525 T-34/85M1 differs from the usual T-34/85 in that the radio operator was removed and his machine gun was placed under the control of the tank driver. Plus some improvements to the engine, radio and observation devices. T-34/85M2 was the M1 version, which added the ability to install equipment for underwater driving.
Fun fact, the distinctive Clatter of a T-34 comes from the tracks rubbing against a specially placed bump on the lower side amour, the T-34's only had one set of track pins to save cost, so the tracks would slide towards the chassis constantly, instead of installing more track pins, this ridge was installed to constantly push the tracks back into place, this is why it constantly chatters as it's driving along. may have used some slightly incorrect vernacular but whatevs, basically they put a metal bump in place so the drive system could remain as simple as possible.
it's not the number of track pins that matters (you can't use more or less track pins than a number of actual tracks you have) but rather the absence track pin retaining device for each individual pin.
@@leeharveyoslik Exactly. Good explanation. I was just trying to figure out how to write it. Thank goodnes you did it already. Good job. This thing basically keeps pushing the pins back in place as they pass it.

Thanks for sharing the T-34 was indeed an amazing war machine! Germany always gets all the credit for best tanks of ww2. The T-34 definitely needs more credit.
Sure Tigers and Panthers was fine tanks but Germany was able to build what 1200 Tigers meanwhile Sovjet built 35000 T-34 and 29000 t-34-85 sure Sovjet also lost 44000 of the T-34 family. You win most wars if you have the bigger numbers
@@Groza_Dallocort - Panther medium tank was German answer to T-34. It was indeed fine tank, but it was already behind the next modifications of T-34. Against Sherman tanks though Panthers caused complete devastation and panic. Tiger heavy tank concept was fine, but because it's weight was slow and almost impossible to repair in the field.
@@Groza_Dallocort The late war German tanks were also very unreliable, the panther was known to catch on fire randomly in post war tests done by the allies

@@WBCY2024 yeah especially when you're in the middle of the largest land invasion in human history and a big chunk of your industries have allready been overrun. It's impressive they managed to build so many tanks
When the Germans invaded during World War Two they looked down on the quality of the T34. They said that it sounded like a crude farm tractor. But as the war continued on, the Germans changed their opinion. The T34 was sounding more and more like an angry Russian bear.
What the hell are you even talking about? The Germans feared the T-34, thats why they started projects like the Tiger and Panther to deal with this tanks as they damn well did, Tigers took 6 of these for one of them. Go spread your bullshit elsewhere.
In 1941, the guns on the German tanks could not penetrate the armour of the T-34; but the guns on the T-34 could penetrate the armour of the German tanks. Guderian wanted German engineers to copy the T-34.
My father killed 2 of this tanks. He was a young man and it touched him so much. He had mare dreams from this because he knew there were young people inside and nobody of them survived. They or me was the way to survive. Nobody needed this war and all those other wars. I am Sergeant Major and I was on 7 missions and I am glad that I never had to kill any enemy. Peace for the world and I hope people will learn from the history!
@@Zen-rw2fz No, when the invasion happened the panzerfaust didn‘t exist yet. He was too young at this time. The Germans forced the Austrians to fight with them. Those young boys had no choice. Fight or die.
Imagine driving that thing in war time with the hatch closed. So loud, near zero visability and your commander only maybe having a radio for contact with nearby tanks.
Unbelievable how active the driver is, you hear personal accounts of the T34 drivers having to YANK and Jerk the clutch and shift lever and we see it here clearly. Wow, very, very, very interesting video.
It's still the best tank of WW-2 no matter what others say . Guys thanks for showing it the sound knida sucked but was fun watching it also great to see how you take care of it.
Best tank of WWII was the Sherman, because of its high reliability, and its stabilized gun. Sherman could actually shoot and hit while moving, a 5 second advantage in a fight.
This tank won the Second World War and helped complete it so that people could live in peace again. The sound of his engine, as a symbol of the end of the war and the maintenance of peace. T34 is one of the victorious equipment of the Second World War.
Wow. Enjoyed camera view from drivers perspective. Nice touch this one. For the moment I was there;) Nice video overall especially when one consider the angles shown in this videos that had been seen to men that rode that tank into action.

I took a creat selfie of ME in Slovenia back in 2016 at a tank museum, standing in front of a very very nice t34:D, just love that tank....cant help it:D
What make you say so? For the time it was the most sophisticated tank, that even Germans tried to copy, but miserably failed at that. It was reliable, fast and had big gun of Tiger I size, and had no problem to punch a hole through it.
Only if you take the approach that sophisticated has to mean complicated. Indeed, the fact that the T34 used relatively basic (and therefore easy to produce and maintain) technology to provide such effective solutions to issues of the time makes it even more effective, and if that's how you define sophistication then...
Here is the "thing" to keep in mind - T-34 start(been designed) as sophisticated as it gets, but it went through a process of simplification and manufacturing streamlining, so price of manufacturing one decrease, as well as time to make one, German tanks did the same to some extend, but it was never a mass production conveyor build tank as was T-34 and Shermans.
T-34 is the best tank ever produced in the world. T-34 is so fast, not heavy, its tracks is large, had radio, its crews just 4 not 5, its canon is the ones of the best tank canon ever produced in the world. The best medium tank ever produced in the world.
This is my go-to video for recording funny voicenotes of an angry Russian in a tank; My best friend and I use this impersonation as our main form of comedic communication. 10/10
Fun fact: That clicking rattling sound that you hear is the sound made by the track pins being whacked back into the track as the vibrations loosens then.
It was not the best tank of WWII. There was no overall best tank of the Second World War. And for mediums, the T-34/76 had the title from 1941 until 1942. But the M4s was arguably the best Medium Tank of the Second World War to see proficient service.
@John Cornell I duno man. This is from Wiki: "The T-34 is a Soviet medium tank that had a profound and lasting effect on the field of tank design. At its introduction in 1940, the T-34 possessed an unprecedented combination of firepower, mobility, protection and ruggedness. Its 76.2 mm (3 in) high-velocity tank gun provided a substantial increase in firepower over any of its contemporaries; its well-sloped armour was difficult to penetrate by most contemporary anti-tank weapons. When it was first encountered in 1941, German general Paul Ludwig Ewald von Kleist called it "the finest tank in the world" and Heinz Guderian affirmed the T-34's "vast superiority" over existing German armour of the period.[7][8] Although its armour and armament were surpassed later in the war, it has often been credited as the most effective, efficient and influential tank design of the Second World War."
The video doesn't give away how frikking loud these things are in real life. I have first hand experience about these tanks. I was part of making the largest Finnish war movie as an assistant(5 scenes in total) and did one job as soviet soldier preparing for attack. We had two of these bad bois coming down the road and each tank had 8 soldiers jogging behind them in two rows. I was the unlucky one who was jogging directly behind the right exhaust pipe. I looked like I had "blackfaced" myself. In photos these tanks look like toys compared to German counterparts but in real life these tanks are huge and make lots of noise.
Great piece of engineering. People often dismiss Soviet arms as crude and underengineered (which was true in some cases), however not with T-34. Sloping armour, diesel engine that was borrowed from aviation! This thing was literally cutting edge technology at that time, and what is even more impressive - it was mass produceable.
This tank is very quiet in low gear!!! This can sneak up on you and you wouldn't wan to face this in the barrel. Would be great for days off advantures. 😄Thx.
much respect for the soviets during WWII when they switched to the allies and halted the eastern advance via attrition, their contributions and sacrifices to the war effort are often unsung
I once read somewhere, many years ago, that after the war a lot of German soldiers would wake up from nightmares where all they could hear were the clacking of T-34 tracks . . .
Any Soviet knows this sound from his childhood. Hundreds of movies i watched as a kid. This tank has polish symbole. There was great polish movie : "4 tank crewman and a dog".
