True...but we are *very* disappointed that despite Hindu Canadians voting 53% conservative per the National Post, higher than any other ethnicity, Poilevre will speak out about Hamas but never about Khalistan. Canadians are great, but they certainly need to hold their elected officials including Poilevre, to consistent standards.

The only flaw in Canadian strategy is that Canada does not really have any direct leverage on India. They can only go as far as the USA can take them, which I believe has its own limitations. 1. On trade side, both countries don't trade much - so sanctions are out of question. 2. On scientific side, Canada is nowhere on the scientific landscape - so 'denying' any critical tech to India is again out of question. 3. Canada has oil, yes - but India largely buys oil from Saudis and Russia - so denying energy supply is again out of question. 4. It can try persuading it other fellow G7 countries to act against India, but they have their own interests in maintaining good ties with India - so global isolation is also out of question. Given the current precarious economic situation Canada is today, and the fact that India is fast rising - Canada is fighting from a position of weakness.

A sizable percentage. Sikhs born and raised in Canada, Australia, UK often lack awareness of the current situation in Punjab. They are gullible and easily influenced by Khalistani groups. When newly arrived Sikhs associate with these groups trying to fit in, they start to adopt these beliefs. That's where the real brain washing starts and how we end up with people like Nijjar in Canada and Amritpal Singh in India.

This incident resembles the Pulwama attack. It's unfortunate that only the profiteers benefit from such tragedies. It's also disheartening that Khalistan supporters are subject to character assassination without anyone daring to discuss the actions of figures like America's Jack Suleman, who resides mostly in India. Canada is widely regarded as a peace-loving country, yet India is accused of interfering in Canadian elections simply because Canadian laws are lenient.

I respect the journalism of ' The Print ' , but why would you have this guest on ? He's a right wing , anti- Trudeau conspiracy theorist whom I've only ever seen on Indian TV bashing Trudeau. If you want a real Canadian journalist get Terry Milewski. I usually don't agree with his opinions , but at least his ideas are based in reality. Obviously the moment of silence in the House of Commons was a message to the Indian government that this isn't going away no matter who wins the next election. All parties in the House agreed to it and only 1 MP out of 338 said anything against it.

Pia, there are Sikhs and then there are Khalistanis. It is high time that Indian journalists understand the difference between the two and manage the narrative accordingly. Bordman is a very smart podcaster, but he doesn't represent "mainstream" Canadian media. If Indian journalists are going to make a dent in the Canadian narrative, they need to engage mainstream media (and no, that's no longer Terry Milewski - he is retired ex-CBC and isn't invited back to the CBC because of his honest views on khalistanis, which go against current mainstream Canadian narrative). Get current and mainstream anchors on your program and go in the discussion *informed*. Also, don't send kids like Snehesh to interview heavy weights like the ex-CSIS Director. He talked circles around Snehesh a year ago. The Print - please get a bit more sophisticated in your analysis and your reach.
