Hi there! I am Anika Rose. I am a culture and communication enthusiast living in Alberta, Canada. I love all things language, culture, communication, word origins and I want to share my research with you through my Instagram account, my RU-vid channel (linked above), and my Patreon (more content coming!).
My love of all things language started from the time I started to speak. I asked questions about the world around me. Why do we say this? What do other people say? Why do we pronounce words like this? What does this word mean? How can we communicate effectively? In an effort to answer these, I studied speech and language therapy in university, as well as French. Along the way, I lived in the USA, France, Germany and then back to Canada.
Through these journeys, I kindled my interest in language and culture, especially my own native English and North American culture.
It is my hope that a deeper understanding of the language we use, will cultivate a community of compassionate understanding people. I hope you follow along to learn about linguistics, etymology, history, comparison of languages, and culture shock to learn more about ourselves, our community, and our beautiful world.
