Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand shares what she knows about the unidentified object that was shot down by NORAD over Canada. CNN's Arlette Saenz reports. #Canada #CNN #News
I snorted when the former government official tried to claim that a flying cylindrical object with no discernible means of propulsion could have many explanations, like a dirigeable. In the Artic and at that altitude. A dirigeable. SMH
She is not qualified to speak on this. She works for USDOT ffs and speaking so confidently like she’s seen cylindrical objects with no propulsion every day 🤦🏻♂️
when they don't know anything they need to fill time with using as many words as possible. If it is technical in nature they are words they aren't use to using so they trip and fumble through it trying to sound smart.
It is frustrating when you try to watch the news and report starts with “there are so many questions”. That is the reason why I watch the news. Not to hear what the reporters don’t know.
There's probably a sign somewhere out there that says 'WARNING : 3rd planet from the yellow star is inhabited by aggressive primitives possessing nuclear weapons'!
When did balloons first begin to scare you? Was it small age birthday parties or what? Why do you let the press dictate how you feel? Stop it. Whew 😥 now no more! The tv has an off button you know. ;-) use it liberally.
Obviously these are space aliens. I wouldn't go shooting them down so casually as these are likely scout ships and not to provoke a larger interplanetary invasion.
It’s weird how social media works. The other day everyone in the comments section were blasting them for taking so long, now everyone is united. We live in a world of sheep
I'm so glad George Santos is such a good pilot and was able to down this object with only one shot. George will also be inspecting the crash site and will be telling us what it is shortly.
Actually admitting that they can't identify a craft "in the dark", will have to wait for daytime confirmation. Now complaining of foggy weather: "It's a Weather Balloon"! So they shot it down.
Why would you be concerned about balloons. It is not a new technology and there is nothing special about any of this. They are also useless as a weapons delivery system. There is lots of fear mongering out there from people that are mostly idiots.
The weather up there was 30 below zero yesterday (and that's at ground level, not counting wind chill) but unlikely it was snowing at 40,000 feet. Between the pilots and the radar, they should have gotten a good look at it.
Dropped it in the middle of the Yukon Rocky Mountains in winter after several big storms went through. It will be awhile before they find it, buried under 30 ft of snow or hung up on a mountainside cliff. idiots
@@garygrant9612 You know that is probably the 100s of aircraft engineers and designers forgot to have in a combat plane, a camera. you should e-mail somebody about that.
My best friend is a pilot. We discussed this today at that height it should've been clear. One of the pilots said he couldn't figure out the propulsion system wich means what powered it. That also means it was probably moving pretty fast. The fact the the government isn't talking. We know what time it is.
That object belongs to someone. If it was innocent in its activity, why isn't the owner lodging complaints? Some nations should have already started bitching if it was just an accident.
And what they have found out is that the US can track them. That does nothing to help the Chinese on any level. It does not even show them if the US is even out of first gear and is just playing with China.
What’s there to freak out about? At worst they are probably observation balloons or drones. No greater risk than cyber espionage which has been going on for years
Chill. The military has a tendency to classify everything they do automatically. Here's one potential reason for super cautious wording. Oceanic and atmospheric observation balloons fly all over the place all the time because scientists like to study that stuff. Even Chinese scientists. With China getting all pushy and aggressive about Taiwan lately, if we can gain some political points by shooting out a few of their weather balloons, we're not above doing it. And if you're freaking about us shooting down aliens, relax. Us being able to shoot down technology capable of interstellar travel is about as likely as the Wright brothers being able to shoot down an f-35.
Thank you to the American military as well as Canadian military. The internet has really been helpful to the folks who tend to be conspiratorial, but I appreciate our hard working folks who are defending us!
The defense minister said it was a cylindrical object and would not confirm that it was also a balloon. My questions: was it floating or flying on its own power, was it a manned object, and how fast was it moving? These jets were close enough to observe that much. It was the size of a car. A lot can fit in a car.
Ok, So they were close enough to observe that it was unmanned. The other questions should be easy to answer too. These two governments let a 200 ft high (taller than a 20 story building) traverse the USA before doing anything about it. What was so concerning about this much smaller object that they scrambled 4 jets to shoot it down immediately? They could have taken out the Chinese spy balloon early on too without it being a danger to people below, but they didn’t? That’s pretty significant.
They don't know. Dropped it in the middle of the Yukon Rocky Mountains in winter after several big storms went through. It will be awhile before they find it, buried under 30 ft of snow or hung up on a mountainside cliff. idiots
I find it impossible to believe that they don’t know (at least) which country these two objects came from. I get that they’d want to keep tight lips, but for them to not know now is hard to believe.
I appreciate we didn't all study for a doctoral degree at an Ivy League college, but do broadcasters need to speak to their viewers as if we hadn't yet begun kindergarten? In this segment we were told precisely the same thing 14 times in 10 minutes.
Why 90% of foreign military bases are American? Do those bases actually represent US imperialism? There are over 5,000 US military bases total, with 750 bases overseas, in 80 countries and colonies, the US has more foreign military bases than any empire or country in world history. More than 100 people from New Jersey high school diagnosed with brain tumors. Over the past 30 years, experts suspect that a potential cancer cluster in New Jersey may have an underlying cause. 'Forever chemicals' detected in water systems of 2,800 US cities. Growing concern over PFAS contamination and pressure on the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate the chemicals in drinking water. But we’re expected to believe China and Russia are the real threat for the world the US intends to defend the "rules-based order" that Russia and China are posing a challenge to.
The dumbest thing in the world is to shoot it down, it needs to be captured and analyzed, now you will never know about time travel or teleportation by expanding and contracting space, you will never know about the other dimension like what happens in the grave or after death for example, you will never learn the Barzakh language of the afterworld. This should’ve seriously been captured and analyzed instead of destroyed with all the information it carries.
Totally a UFO. Cylindrical, no propulsion, can't understand it, Differing accounts. Its aligns with all the observations over the last 30 years. So our great pilots can't identify if its a drone, balloon, Plane or bird lol. Thats BS! 40,0000 feet high flew near it but can't identify but yet can determine the size? Yeah ok how much is the brooklyn bridge for purchase. 2 UFO shot down in 2 different areas and still don't know?? Oh it's the Russians or Chinese? You mean the same chinese who rely on a balloon, now have high tech cylindrical objects? hahaha that's laughable. The same china that has semiconductor technology 20 years behind the USA?? But now have spy craft like this? Or the Russian's whose military equipment is third rate and are taking computer chips from old refrigerators to use in war? Its not adding up
True but as a former fighter pilot they know exactly what it is. The pilots could have flew by multiple times ,since they were not under fire or in a combat zone. No worry about surface to air missile defenses, yet are mum on what they saw, supporting my theory on it being an Alien craft. The White house is figuring out how to spin it. Why not just call it a balloon, drone, blimp, aircraft. Its one of 4 and not hard to identify
What in the world is going on with all of these mysterious flying objects, balloons, etc??? Spooky to say the least. Hopefully, they will be able to find out what's going on and resolve the matter.
Assuming top government officials and the military already know what it is, and possibly were aware of them for awhile. In the civilian world we are just trying to figure it out from whatever they tell the media which in turn tells us
That woman mentioned dirigibles, like zeppelins. Zeppelins were used as combat aircraft in World War 1. They are very quiet in flight, nowadays it wouldn't be difficult to make them absolutely silent. That is a rather scary thought. Not sure how a zeppelin would appear on radar, it's just a big bag of gas with a very light frame and usually a small payload. It would be very troubling if someone was using dirigible airships as weapons again.
You could make an airship virtually silent with current tech.... but still... kinda hard to hide a Hindenburg sized object in the wild blue yonder... even with high end Bluetooth noise cancellation. ...
Zeppelins are rigid airships and have a structure usually made of metal, blimps don't usually have a rigid frame just bags for the gas and a fabric cover both would be quite visible on military radar, it was the altitude that these things were flying at that helps to disguise them, we use satellites to do our spying, these things are probably just cheap inner orbit attempts at spying on the cheap ...and now everybody knows not the best thing if you are trying to spy
Zeppelins are still in operation today. Not for war purposes, but to carry freight as they can carry very heavy loads. Every now and then there's also talk on using them for passengers again like cruiseships.
The most alarming thing to me is that these objects could carry large amounts of any type of poison gas that could be deployed over any city in North America. I wouldn't put it past Putin or Chi to drop VX over the superbowl or NYC just for kicks.
"[A cylindrical object] is very odd if you're looking for a traditional balloon or an aircraft" - Do I really need to point out that airplanes are cylindrical objects? Yes, they have wings and a tail fin extending from the cylinder, but an airplane is, for the most part, a cylindrical object.
@@realscience948 "Could be a genuine UFO" - It *WAS* a genuine UFO - it was a flying object that was unidentified. I believe you meant "extraterrestrial flying object" or "interstellar flying object" (aliens), in which case, I doubt it as well. Any species capable of such technology would surely monitor the planet first, and the things we do on Earth 1) scream "keep away if you value your life", 2) scream "we already hit the self-destruct button", or, if it's not yet too late, 3) are a silent cry for an intervention from an intellectually superior species.
You must also describe the Int. Space Station as a cylindrical object. For the rest of us an object is NOT cylindrical just because a component of it is a cylinder.
The 5th Generation F-22's unique combination of stealth, speed, agility, and situational awareness, combined with lethal long-range air-to-air and air-to-ground weaponry, makes it the best air dominance fighter in the world.
I have been at 40K’ on a good number of transatlantic flights over Greenland and Canada, and have seen storms below, and clear sky’s where we were at. Guess it can happen, but just think we are not being told what it was.
There is a major upgrade in progress to the NORAD systems in the far north of Canada. It's a CDN$4.9 billion project budget over the next 4.6 years. I hope they can speed it up.
@@MrBonners This one is new, announced Jun 20, 2022 by Anita Anand. From CBC's website: "Canada will spend $4.9 billion over the next six years to modernize continental defence, Defence Minister Anita Anand said Monday."
If it was a balloon or other airship shot down in snowy, windy conditions, it might never be found. A thin film of material being blown around the Yukon Territory and covered in snow is not going to be easy to find.
@@fjuvo Yes, but how to get one up so high altitude in very remote area? It is not that simple, balloon so smalll have to be very light weight and cylindrical shape makes it more difficult. All flying objects tend to collect moisture which becomes ice and brings it down if it is based on buoyancy. And can you even see that small thin balloon in radar? And how low air pressure in those heights is dealt structurally? Weather balloons expand a lot when they reach high altitudes and they are very large to have enough lift.
@@bekanav A drone that is a balloon is not complicated and as a technology is something that the US had 70 years ago. Modern industrial technologies would easily allow something like that to be built the problem is that it screams of desperation and is more of a demonstrator of lack of capabilities than anything else. When the US takes them down they are not using reactive missiles and are just using large physical bodies to knock them out of the sky.
Not sure of the word game being played in the release of information but three downed objects by military in a week’s time is most definitely reason to believe that it is of public concern, clear and concise communication is owed to the public
I'm wondering if the first one, the Chinese spy balloon that got shot down had tracking communication with these other objects , and that is how we are finding them immediately, and shooting them down as well.
Why are the last two objects labeled as "objects" and not a balloon? All last week the first object shot down was referred to as a balloon... are these last two objects shot down in Northern Alaska and Canada attached to balloons? Maybe they are powered by Element 115....
Solar Impulse 2 flew all the way around the world in 550 hours in July 2016. Propellors were powered only by the sun, which also charged Li-Ion batteries for night flight. It had 2 pilots.
Yes, that'll be right. Element 115 called Moscovium, whose longest-lasting radioactive isotope has a half-life of 0.65 seconds, isn't going to be a power-source for anything. At all. Ever.
I hope the world can stop fighting and start banding together because I'm sure the aliens are going to be pissed that we shot down 2 of their space ships
Two?! Oh, you've got some fun catching up to do. The only thing that's changing is that a couple of governments have started to announce officially when an "unidentified" object comes down, instead of denying it and gaslighting the witnesses as they have done for over a century.
It's not snowing and not foggy at 40,000 feet! Her comments are a smokescreen not a snowstorm. Let's see the pictures and hear the in person descriptions! What was the airspeed of the object? They know all this stuff and are not telling us.....
If you're a foreign adversary, it would be good to know if car-sized cylindrical objects would go undetected. That would be my best guess considering the recent surveillance balloons. Regardless of your interpretation it seems very ominous.
Lol...we have technology to see ants up close , from space !!!... ...ain't nothing getting passed the US armed forces ...unless they chose to let it pass 💁🏻♂️ .
I want to remind everyone that unidentified means they have never seen it before. They know what blimps drigibles planes drones spacecraft and ballons are ..... This this is something they have never seen before
No. Unidentified means unable to give a determination on exactly what something is- which can be a product of visibility issues, lack of knowledge of what they’re looking at, etc. it does not necessarily mean something we’ve never seen. And even if it is something we haven’t seen, that means it could be a technology another country was working on in secret. You all are sensationalizing things unnecessarily.
Its not scary it is exciting stop trying to scare peeps some peeps like the fact that there could be another race of beings with far greater technology that when we are misbehaving like Russia Ukraine UK USA killing each other for no reason its just nice to know they could possibly swoop in and be peacekeepers or totally destroy us i would rather that than have ape minded humans with low IQ with sinster agendas that hold secrets its more scary to me that these humans could cause a nuclear war
Can we please find out what the ef is going on? If it's China again we need to do something about it, I'm not Canadian but Canada is our ally and this shit must stop.

After all these years of barely reading anything good I was usually just shutting down any type of media influence as much as I can but this brings back good lights and it should give hope to some of you that no matter what is going on in the world at the end something good comes to surface
Amazon does not have a digital currency. This is a scam coin. They're placing multiple comments on popular videos to try to get you to buy into a scam coin that is not worth anything. They also have a fake RU-vid channel called CoinMarketCap which is not related to the real website CoinMarketCap. This is an attempt to scam you so beware.

They need to say South Carolina! It wasn’t no where near North Carolina, it all happened right over my house and when they shot down that balloon it shook my house
@@MrBonners- apparently you couldnt care less to shoot it down or even notice it was there until it got to the United States, either. Today's incident is Canada trying to save face and actually act involved.
The object shot down over AK wasn't a balloon, an aircraft, nor a missile/rocket. A cylinder the size of a small car would not have enough buoyancy if filled with hydrogen to suspend itself at 40,000 ft. Am I the only one seeing this! Gravity is still a thing right? Why is the media not asking these questions? Also, the commercial air traffic excuse for the shoot down is bunk since air traffic is routinely routed around airborne threats like volcanic ash, etc.
With all the space junk floating around our planet at this time. Any aliens that may be zipping by will probably think that we've already been invaded.
The US is arming Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam & Malaysia with sophisticated and expensive warships, aircraft and missiles. Isn’t their aim to counter the rise of China in the region? What country has spent 40% of the combined military budgets of the world, creates an ‘enemy’ to indicate to Congress they need to increase the military budget by $7 billion and send their troops to the Pacific to 'encircle' China. Isn't “Cold War and zero-sum mentality” that leads to obsessive military superiority?
@lilylove3300 , There's nothing being "created." Unless one has willfully ignored even a rudimentary examination of China's foreign policy initiatives over the past decade at least, it should be obvious the country's clear intention is global hegemony, by any means necessary (despite their avowed employment of 'software power).
Unless they is coming in by military plane, which I am sure more investigators of it are, Anchorage has no bearing on the recovery. Now, if they are coming up here commercial, we have 2 airports and Fairbanks is by far closer, the oil fields even closer, and most of the time the connecting flight to up there is from Anchorage. But, most of the time everyone comes through Anchorage, having both military and commercial flights as the main hub.
