This animation is inspired by and ancient persian art called Persian miniature and some character and creatures in persian mythology such as Div( deamon) simorgh ( phenix like bird), Huda bird( sign of prosperity) and some love story poems and historic buildings. I am truely fascinated by both the music and the animation.
Easy. Prophetes are for everyone no need to learn farsi Rumi's poets are translated to english. But as I know from shajarians they pick each part of it from one story so its a fast track of whole human evolution to sit in place of the kingdom.
Thanks . Homayoon is our pride . Learned from his father the most loved musician .... thank you . You know more about him than some Iranians ! Bravo sir
People dont understand what you just said and react like " no we don't need translation ". I bet many of them even cannot read it properly. We have been kept away from Iranian culture in many different aspects for 40 years. Ferdowsi's statues are being broken, his poems are being removed from walls in his hometown and vanishing from school books. People need education to understand and being able to interpret poems. Specially Rumi. Give shahnameh or Hafiz poems to people, they dont know how to punctuate even.
@Liza Zhang Your Chinese father taught you beautiful words 😄 . So if you have studied in primary school, can you say what is Gholzom e por Khoon in Mulana's poet , without checking the dictionary? And what does Hafez mean by this : دستخوش جفا مکن آب رخم که فیض ابر بی مدد سرشک من در عدن نمیکند By the way the proof to his comment is here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e-dB2U5HX5E.html you may enjoy more from minute 3 Miss Zhang

Lord Parody yup bro it happened 2days ago because of cancer , but fortunatly he have completly perfect and huge legacy that we can still enjoy and learn from it
We dont know the lyrics... but the pics looks a lot like motives of 1001 night storys... we have a prince... or Sindbad, we have angles and deamons, heaven an hell, the bird rogh ( this kind of giant bird/Phoenix) and all is mixed up with Steampunk elements like Zeppelin and submarines... very, very interesting 😁😄😃😀
No is not about that although the 1001 night is a persian story but this is about molana's book "masnavi manavi" the iranian national poet and thats not the Phoenix thats a simorgh the legendary bird in iran legends that came in the "Shahname" some of the oldest and most valuable legendary historic book at the world that written by "Abolghasem Ferdosi" 1000 years ago that about the Iran history from the begins on 5000 years ago and the iran legendary heroes like Rostam Dastan by the poetry language
@@RommerskirchenFrank no rog(Rokh in persian) is another mythical bird ,we have it in our mythology, however its neither Persian nor it is used in this video. we also have Phoenix in our mythology and its called "Ghoghnoos" but the bird in the video is a simorgh
it is a symbolic story. the person who went upstairs was a mystic, and the video demonstrated his Mystical conduct. he traveled to supernatural worlds to find the meaning of himself and the universe. there is an ancient book named Haft Shahr Eshgh Atar which was wroten by Atar Ney-Shabori. the Viedo was based on the book.
Thats very close, because 1001 night and most of eastern stories come from persian culture , books and poets such as Molavi Rumi مولوی، , Hafez حافظ، Saadi سعدی ، Khayam خیام، Ferdossi فردوسی ، Nezami نظامی ، and many others , and most of this singers songs are poem from those books
In a simple way, the poem by Molana (Rumi), talks about how you have to get rid of your ego and sense of self to become one with your love. The hero of the music video is so eager to find love, that he is willing to do many different tasks, like climbing numerous scairs, going into an unkown castle. But when he does so he falls into the abyss, drowns in the sea, and literally dies in the eye of the viewer, and when symbolically his dies, he reemerges as victorious and gets united with his love. It's a nod to 7 cities of love which is a very bold way of thought in Sufism, and is written into peoms by Attar. Molana was a sufi also, and this music is upbeat because Sufism is full of emotion, sometimes eagerness and sometimes sadness. This music and animation falls into the eagerness of the sufi spectrum.
R.I.P. Shajarian, one of the greatest Iranian artist, he's transcended the human form and will continue to live on through his music. I suggest everyone check out his song Rain (baran in Persian). Cool video, never thought I'd see Shajarian and MF DOOM in the same video but I like it.
Believe me or not but this is the eleventh time that a singer has sang this very poem . Anyway I really enjoyed them all specially this one which along with the mesmerising voice and amazing vocals of the singer also has almost the smartest animation and visualizations . It fits what possibly the poet ( Rumi ) 800 years ago intended us to understand and there are even more to it which I'm sure the animator did his best but maybe I would add more to it , luckily I wasn't the one lol . It really takes hours to describe all the metaphors in this poem that I think is unnecessary . I hope you enjoyed it and thanks for your reaction 🌹
thanks a lot for Reacting to our music . we are disconnected from the world and there is variety of misunderstandings due to our chaotic government. Please continue reacting to Iranian music it means a lot for us .thank you sooo much🙇💚
I am sure you will now get promoted by hitting yourself and your country on the head! Always remember: if you belittle yourself, others will do the same to you. That is a fact. Hold your head up even if you are carrying the burden of the world on your shoulders. Best luck.
you are so correct and smart . this pictures are referring to a mythical which you must know of this specific Rumi poem to understand it correctly but to give you an idea there is a guy which is searching for true love (call it god or wisdom ) and on his way to find it he will be lost many times with devils (bad human trait like jealousy , worldliness and ...) and it is the story of all of us actually
The Animation is artistic representation of Molana (aka Rum), مولانا جلالالدین بلخی، Persian poat and philosopher's book Masnavi مثنوی مولوی. This book has many stories and those animated characters come from there, for example the huge bird is Simorg سیمرغ ، or the 3 monsters are Jen جن and، Dev دیو , which all have philosophical meanings of bad and good on earth... So if you like to fully understand it you need to read and see the pictures in the book with closest english translation , not google translate..,😄
This is just amazing! poetry, music, Homayoun 's voice! The concept is this animation is unique. Symbols of Simurgh, a magical bird that is wise and always available to help for good. Symbol of evils all together with the storyline is just fascinating. Persian fairy tales and poetry are life lines.
Hey man I’m so glad more people are reaction to some traditional persian singers 🙏🏼 Please react to his song “ rage Khab “ by Homayoun Shajarian And also to his father “ mohammadreza shajarian”
Hey bru , that instrument you are hearing is either “Setaar” or “Taar” they are both Iranian traditional music instruments. Nice Reaction btw I would recommend Mohsen Namjoo - Sanama 🌹🙏🏻🇮🇷
all this picture abut history of iran ..if more need information you can read Shah nameh Persian language has ancient roots and deep meaning .But the language is sweet
The Name of this Song is ( Heavy Makeup)...And every instrument you hear is originally Persian ( the main one is SETAR, and the bigger one you see in the video is BARBAT ) but Arabs claimed wrongly that its name is OUD and they were the people who made it ... but Persia is the original one
hmmm i wanna try to give you as much information as i can but first i want you to know that my knowledge is very limited. this track is not the usual type of work homayoun creats, this was for a series or a movie, this is a combination of rock and iranian music. iranian instruments are used in a rock music ( idk the terminology). the lyric is asking his idol/lover/god to give him a chance to prove himself and both the lyric and the animation is about the journey to find porpuse and idols and reaching spiritual heights how the path is within ourselves( this kinda the surface translation and underlaying meaning together). and the animation is depicting the journey with traditional paintings and ilustrations.
Homayoun Shajarian is the only singer I am able to listen to, non-stop for hours. If you are in Toronto, I'll be more than happy to welcome you some time with some Persian food and Persian traditional music.
My understanding is that the graphical elements of this album emphasize on the value in the cultural fusion that is embedded in Iranian culture. These graphical elements are old but characters in it use modern and mostly western instruments and tools. The origin of these elements are in China, India and perhaps all over the Asia that travelled to Iran and fused together with Iranian motifs. The lyrics are from Rumi. He seems to be praying for help to bring his heart and mind in harmony. The mythical aspect is simple: heart and mind are always in a fight to guide us their own way, you wish there was a way of harmony and balance.
To understand this animation and music, you should be familiar with Rumi's poems, which are related to the spiritual journey of human beings and the journey from the world of demons to higher worlds, ie angels, or vice versa! Rumi had chosen spiritual dance to take a shortcut between these two worlds, which is beautifully represented in this animation! 9:10 For example, here the man is standing in front of a door on which there is a pattern of beautiful women's faces, but he passes through this door to meet higher lasting beauties! Thanks
If you found the animation a bit scary it's because it showed a fight between Good and Evil ... So the scary features represent demons ... As I mentioned earlier , the spirit of the lyrics was absolutely associated with mythical thoughts ... Good luck 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏💐💐💐
Admirable indeed ❤️ .... My warm greetings and many heartfelt thanks to you for reacting to such amazing song.💙❤️💚💜💙❤️💚💜🙏🙏🙏🙏 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 It was not surprising if I found you a bit perplexed ... 😅 It's because this song is about sort of Iranian Mysticism . ✨💫☀️ So the singer was talking to his mystical love ... The lyrics were composed by one of the most recognized poets , called Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi ... For your information, Iran's civilization dates back to 7000 years ago ... Iranian people are pioneer in other aspects of Art as well ... So their wonderful music also deserves true love and high respect ... We are grateful to you for talking about Iran's music. You may also find Mohsen Yeganeh's song more interesting ... It's called "Behet Ghol Midam" (meaning I promise you)
You probably don't know But these pictures of Iran's history for thousands of years ago are on the ground and their discoveries When they had flying ships and breathing helmets for under the sea and strange science techniques and they were familiar with extraterrestrial beings and still have them. These animations and characters were also drawn thousands of years ago for illustrated historical books, which have now been animated by artificial intelligence. 😊
its complicated to explain the music video, there are so many elements in it. try his song ahay khabardar ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0E6HswBtTfk.html
Translation of the first part: Share your heart - your actions - your feelings - with me (unite) If I was not what you wanted and you were not happy with me - then you can complain and complain. But the first condition is that your heart is one with mine.
the person who went upstairs was a mystic, and the Video demonstrated his Mystical conduct. he traveled to supernatural worlds to find the meaning of himself and the universe. there is an ancient book named Haft Shahr Eshgh Atar which was wroten by Atar Ney-Shabori. the Viedo was based on the book.
He is son of the greatest traditional singer in Iran, he has huge heritage in Iranian music. His father yesterday 08/10/2020 passed away. God bless his, he will remain in our heart. He was Iranian hero who stood up against Mullahs regime in Iran. Thank you for choosing this song :)
RIP . The tyrranical regime of Iran turned off his voice for past 10 years did not let him sing , but they never can silent his voice . He died and didn't see Iranian freedom . روحت شاد استاد ، 🙏
Believe me, even us Iranians don't understand the full meaning of the animation. This is lyrics of Rumi' (Don't worry about understanding Rumi, we don't understand him either :P)..but what I understood from it is that, the guy went for the search of God and when he thought he is so close to him (went all the way upstairs) he tripped and fell in the hands of demons!..he tried again and was eventually forgiven..(Soofi's believe when you think you're very close to God, it is exactly the time that you are most susceptible to be betrayed by demons)..

Hey there. I am a Persian Violin player lives in Vancouver. I would be thrilled meeting with you to talk more about Persian music. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Honestly I guess most of the Iranians can't understand the music video as well. Niether do I. The only thing I can mention here if you are intrested is that, the whole music video is animated in a persian style of drawing called "Negaargari". A style which was mostly used in books and in order to picture the religious and literature stories or the events written in history books. The style is full of unique elements and soooo detailed. The tiniest brushes are used to achive a very very detailed painting in the end. Some of the things I can call from the video are the flame around rhe faces in a scene (it shows holyness if I'm not mistaken. Note that "Negaargari" has unique elements in each historical period.), those guys sitting on the clouds I guess are angles. Other elements seen there must have also been taken from old "Negaargari" works. You could read and study more by having a search on youtube or google. Even Iranians aren't fully familiar with this style. Only the art history researchers.
Heavy Makeup With me o beloved one* , share your heart * complain me if i didn't lay my life down O singer of the heart , with that pleasant song fill (this) my mind with thirty Parted * in your hand you went to "Cheleh"* i am thirty Parts , leave the forty With me o beloved one , share your heart complain me if i didn't lay my life down
There are other arrangements of the same song. I am no musical guru but I think it’s kind of fusion version of an old song. Homayoun has been experimenting with this type of modernization of the traditional Persian style. He is of course an excellent traditional Persian singer. You find a lot of his videos on RU-vid.
but i really loved your explanation from all u understanding. exactly bright elements which you mentioned.absoloutly unique style of vocaling for u not mine of course that he is one of the most powerfull and dominated singers u marked some elements like hard rock. instead the long and more confused story behind this song that u don't know about .... absolutely you're right u were confused with that i could understand u . i don't know who suggested this song to u but it doesn't relevant to you. unlike band members and others who think it did perfect there are alot of critism about composing west melody with eastern traditional concept. remember Mohsen namjoo in first video all elements which traditional parts in concept and style of vocal from east with some little west music elements was in perfect harmony ur analayses was so right nobody tell about namjoo who is some jazzy little bit bluesy . all said about him that is mystical clasicc absolutely he is but unfortunately is so less people who saw this side of namjoo. namjoo is just only person who could express our pure beautiful unknown side of our culture in base of modern music as your so-called . no doubt about homayuon shajarian is the most power full singer in global scale but he couldnt i think both namjoo and homayoun has the same purpose but i think namjoo did so well and more artistic . there r alot of guitars playing with too many different rythms played who care to a song from other culture with hard rock metal style like motorhead or in flames or ac/dc... namjoo is more orginal
hi the music surface meaning is about love true meaning is about love to god(we fallow spirituality as love to god...it is very long to explain here) the animation is drawn in Persian old style (Miniature : illuminated manuscript) showing crossing the circles of hell to havens to reach the beloved (god) and as far as I know this music is the first cross over between rock and traditional music I personally cant get enough of it
I realize that youve had questions about the video and the meaning of the song. If i may, I would like to help a little. The Iranian folkloric music and literatur is unique to old Persian region. Iranian culture and Persian speakers have lots of Folkloric, Legends, Poetry and many more. Those scary features are characters from Shahnameh written by great Persian Poet , Ferdowsi. The visionary in this video music is in regard to a combination of music and those legends and poems. Of course it's included Shahnameh but is not limited to that. The story is also base on Rumi's poem( the famous Poet well known around the globe). Now this is the Poem in English: "Oh you the Idol give your HEART to me(Heart= Del in Persian language) "If I didnt obey, then complain "Oh the musician (player) of my Heart(where the Love is)! keep my Mind busy(where the thought is) "Your hand is taking the Bow(si pareh= Bow ) "I am your Bow, take me and shoot me in the target.(si pareh also means "in 30 pieces". So he is saying I'm "piece by piece=also bow", so shoot me in the target since Im doing whatever you want me to) The visionary story becomes more interesting when the Big Bird takes the man and saves him from the fall. He just chose to fall(take the first step) but all the hands in the nature including the ocean helped him survive until in the last step, Si Morgh took him. In Iranian legends there is a Bird called: Si Morgh(30 birds). Attar another great Persian poet has a story about this Bird whom 30 men are in search for. Until one day they realize they are indeed the 30 Birds and they are the same as Si Morgh(=30 Birds). This is the bird who saves him at the end of the video. The rest of the video is a repetition vocalist creates just to finish the visionary story in which all the demons, and characters of Shahnameh are dancing, playing music, for his biggest fall. A fall that looks scary but in fact is safe and takes him to a safe hand. Surender is the meaning of this video and story. Surender to the Idol's will, and youd be safe and will be rescued. Homayoun is the son to MohamddaReza Shajarian who passed a few days ago. Hi is indeed the Greatest Maestro in vocal Persian song. He knew the Persian literatur so well and all the up and downs in his voice is to emphasize the feelings in those poems he sings. He was the most popular singer in the whole nation not only for his great art, but also for standing by his people against the dictatorship. They suspended his voice anywhere in the country, so he had to sing in private or outside the country. That made him even more famous since everywhere he had some local listeners. They were so afraid of his popularity that in his death, took over all the ceremonies and sent him quickly to where he is buried now. They didnt allow his family and all Iranian people follow his body since they are afraid of the crowed. His famous song "Morghe Sahar=Morning Bird" is to shout out the voice of Iranian people who want Freedom to end this dark night.
If u expected something more soothing and calm, I'm here to tell you this selection was on the extreme side of his musical career actually the most extreme of his work as I would suggest... You can listen to: chera rafti (why did you leave) Oo mikeshad gholab ra(he pulls the hook) And so on... If you enjoyed the iranian music I'll invite you to listen chartaar's music, very rich musical atmosphere and vocals ... Enjoying these iranian music reactions hope you enjoy them too.
This is kinda a mix of persian traditional and rock music.and the animations come from an old book cantains some old persian legends and folklores.nice reaction by the way👍👍
Two days ago, unfortunately all Mohammad Reza Shajarian left us are our memories of him.His burial location is situated next to the grave of possibly, one of the greatest poets that ever set foot on this vast nation. That great poet went under the name of Abolghasem Ferdosi. Two great men resting beside each other for the rest of the human eternity. RIP to Shajarian, the man who changed our era 🖤🖤
The animation is not scary tho. It's surreal But i can see why it's confusing for you The lyrics and music video is from a big part of Iranian history that you have to be iranian to understand lol. But if anyone wants to know i kinda can explain At least i can explain the lyrics But just saying, somethings are not to be understood But to be experienced The whole video is a collage of different iranian paintings so that's not weird or even really different to me But i can see why others get shocked about it
