Remember, we, Filipinos were colonized under several countries...we were invaded by Spaniards, Americans, Chinese, Hollanders, etc. So they're alone the mixtures came out, physically speaking... nowadays, a lot are exploring other countries so there's a lot more mix. If you notice, so many Koreans, Brits, Americans coming to Phils. and others marrying our locals. But here in U.S. I, a nurse, always tell my foreign friends I am a proud filipino when they ask. They don"t unerestimate us as I show them what we are capable of...academics, beauty, knowledge, faith, to name a few.

Netherlands colonized Indonesia, not Philippines. China never colonized the Philippines, they were in the Philippines already along with the Indians when Spain discovered it. But there's a truth in what you want to convey. There's no Filipino race because we're a mixture of races with Malayo-Chinese predominance . There is however Filipino ethnicity.

We came from Spanish and Chinese lineage. Some of the foreigners we meet when I am with my cousins, they tell us that we don't look related, since I look more Spanish, and my cousins inherited the Chinese features, especially the eyes.

It's really true that we Filipinos are very diverse. Aside from our skin tone and our ancestors that came from all over the world. I think the nature of being a Filipino who is known to be very friendly and hospitable, that we get along with other foreign people around the world pretty well. Being able to adopt, respect or accept cultures that surrounds us, simply makes life easier, happier and at peace.🙂😊😄😉

In my case I am always perceived as a Mexican here in Chicago Almost all people who approach me when they talk to me in Spanish l would answer no comprende- They would laugh and say I look Mexican or Spanish

As a Filipino who subscribed on your channel for almost in 5 years since 2017, if you will ask me what i looked like to you? You're a White Filipino. This is honest, you look like you have several ressemblance of other Filipino feature since we have mixed cultures and raise and blood. Here in our province, we have half Indonesians, half malaysian, half chinese, pure chinese immigrants, half indians, pure indian immigrants, half american, half belgium, half lebanese, half german, half Swiss, half Spanish and many more . Etc.. So its kindy weird but my mindset is immune with those kind features like yours. Im glad, grateful and thankful we have such powerful connection to every features.😊

I'm a Filipino live in other country people envy my skin and I mostly ask what tone of makeup I am using which I don't use make up some time I blush when asked me if okay to touch my face thank you to the nice comment for the Filipino skin

The siopao face got me laughing. I agree on you when Filipino mixed with other country the offspring much like a model like features. Yeah we are diverse and in my experience with Indonesian can't distinguished easily until speaking as an OFW.

About the soft and smooth skin I would agree with that, because when my friends talking to me they always want to hold my hand, in my arms in particular, and caress it while we chitchatting, like all the way of the conversation they caressing it as if they find it comfortable to caress to, it's fine with me as long as it's a woman of course 😂

Filipinos just look either SE asian or southern chinese in some rare cases they look japanese. Ironically genetically filipinos are on average 94% east asian derived genes closely clustering with southern chinese, vietnamese and dai populations. Igorots are around 100% east asian derived and tagalogs 96%. Unlike for example thais and the burmese that are only 80-90% east asian derived ancestry. The spanish myth is super strange since only a smaller part of the population carries any significant spanish ancestry maybe 5-10% at most. Those are a tiny minority in Manila and Cebu. The non east asian derived ancestry in filipinos is Agta, Ati blood which is related to melanesians, negritos, southern indian populations. In the visayas the average filipino is 6-7% negrito, melanesian, southern indian derived in ancestry the rest is East asian derived from southern china.

In my observation the greatest diversity is seen in the bigger cities. However, the bulk of Filipinos, especially in the rural areas, look more homogeneous, except for pockets of those with mixed Chinese descent. Mixed white groups are much smaller and most often found in a few areas. This is consistent with the ranking of homogeneity in the Harvard map.

Filipinos looks just like the rest of southeast asia specifically Austronesians as what the "experts" calls it. Only a small percentage has mixed blood. We may have been colonized by different races, but they didn't successfully inter-mixed with the population compared to other colonies. I say not successfully because a small percentage is nothing compared to the whole.

Well the reason why they want to have lighter skin is because of the fvcking beauty products produced by companies that wanted to emphasize that the fairer your skin the more beautiful you are.

Azup! By the way it's also me jakes Played. Of what I observe in our family genes we have I think a Spanish and Chinese blood. Like me and on my siblings we have a tall nose not flat nose and you will in our features that type of looks. And I think Filipinos genes mix is more on Chinese, Spanish and Americans before like on 90s below era. In modern era that's the time we had a much more or other mix races because of internet, because of easy access to communicate and connect to all people in the world. But our culture specially in spiritual beliefs is more on Spanish, Mexican and Chinese and American. And the native pinoy looks like or they look like Africans...
