50 Km per hour winds! Not the best day to fly from Funchal Madeira Airport to London Gatwick. Every stage of the journey including times, prices, what to do at the airport and how to get there. Will we or won't we?

Interesting video as always. I've been to Madeira 20 times in the last 20 years and the longest delay I've had with easyJet was one hour on my last trip and that was the 26th February to a cold England. I'll be returning in May for 3/4 weeks. I enjoyed your video talks with Mike and Jessie of Émigré.eu. I'm still sitting on the fence about relocating my 'old' body to Madeira!

Hi there Alex, how encouraging to hear that the longest delay you've had with easyJet was just an hour. Keep us posted when your there in May, as we may well be back at that time, be good to share a coffee and ponder on your future plans.

Thanks Yvonne & Mike 😊 I absolutely loved the storytelling in this as it kept me enthralled throughout, interspersed with valuable info & tips! I didn't think they'd charge double for pastel de nata, but then again it's an airport, but calling them Portuguese tarts?! Well I never! 🤔 I was curious to know, how much did the chinesa & pastry cost? I felt the same way after 6 weeks in Bangladesh when landing at Manchester & embracing the wonderfully damp & nippy British air lol! I've the Pocket 3 on order by the way which should be arriving in around 10 days or so which will be ready for my Portugal trip at the end of April! Glad they sorted you out with the compensation; did you have to apply for it or was it automatically sent to you? Hope a truly wonderful week my friends 🤗

Such a wonderfully supportive comment as usual Rue, much appreciated by us both. I can't remember how much the Chinesa was - I must've paid cash because I don't have a record in my banking app. I'm guessing around 4€. They didn't make it obvious that there was compensation to be had. If you didn't know about the EU rules and hadn't followed the flight details on their flight tracker, you'd never know about it. We made sure to tell everyone in the queue! At least it was a simple process to track down their claims page and they paid quickly. How are you getting on? You put so much into your films, I'm glad to see you're taking a well earned pause to get fighting fit. And you've got a Pocket 3 coming! Well, I feel a tinge of jealousy. We do another camera so we can both shoot at the same time, so I look forward to hear what your thoughts are when you've played with it. Take care and stay well

I got an email earlier to say my Pocket 3 will be arriving tomorrow so it'll definitely be tested out later in the week!
