To me it's just another example of someone being told something and it's automatically gospel. I mean this with the greatest of respects, but before you go and throw away perfectly okay products and go and spend a lot of money on new products, lets actually inform ourselves on the facts. Do not inform yourself on fear tactics.
I agree with Dr. Idriss It’s been around for decades. I’m 51 and never heard anyone being harmed from it, including myself. Thank you Cassandra for your point of view and bringing awareness.
BP is the only product that clears my body acne. Demonizing an ingredient is a marketing strategy to get “new and supposedly better products” pushed onto consumers.
My skin used to hate benzoyl peroxide, but since I started going back to the gym and my acne started to get worse again, it’s my post-gym cleanser and my skin loves it (using a much lower dose at 4% concentration instead of 10%). And since I don’t go to the gym every day, my skin has plenty of rest days between uses
Double cleanse on days you work out. If you find that you're breaking specifically when working out. It means that sweat and sebum are getting trapped on your skin. Double cleanse or mild exfoliation will help :) .
Love Dr. Idress, she's a board certified dermatologist 😅 and Lab Muffin. Thank you Cassandra for taking time to take a deep dive. Your hair looks adorable btw.
The problem here is too many influencers are scare mongering their audience to throw away their BP! People should never take advice off the internet unless they are qualified to do so. Thank you Cassandra
Am I super allergic to Benzole Peroxide and can’t even use it without my whole face swelling up? YES Did I still watch the whole video because l love Cassandra? ALSO YES!!! Keep up the good work providing us all the info girl 👍🏼👍🏼
As someone that’s had cancer….not once was I ever asked “what kind of skincare products have you used”…..never…..! Lol So that right there tells you these “tests” can be taken with a grain of salt!
I'm so super sensitive to benzoyl peroxide to the point where my husband even had to stop using it too. It makes my skin incredibly red and itchy and puffed up. Just accidentally touching my husband's face/pillow/clothes after he used a bp face wash was enough to trigger my reaction. Even hours after he had washed his face.😵 Salicylic acid is totally fine. Coincidentally, I have a cousin who is the exact opposite--bp is fine for her for salicylic makes her skin react.
That’s an interesting point. It’s likely the shipping containers aren’t temperature controlled. More research needs to be done. I wonder if the benzene levels are still high if the product is heated and then cooled.
Can you please make a video about “Herbal Face Food, Cure X serum , The most potent Anti-Aging, Multi-Correction skincare product on the market. I feel like there is not enough information online and I would love to hear your honest opinion about it. Thank you ❤
This title scared me for a sec. But thank God. Literally Panoxyl is the only brand that works for me right now and my skin has never looked better. I don’t know what I would use as an alternative if they took down this brand
From what I remember of the sunscreen debacle is that even if the sunscreen is heated to a very high temp, you’d have to be applying multiple bottles of sunscreen daily for several decades.
I’m reminded of the saccharin study, which showed Nutrasweet caused cancer in rats, but people didn’t look past the headlines. The rats were given, daily, an equivalent to what a human would eat in a year, rats have a different urinary tract system which is why mice are generally preferred, and the cancer was ll urinary in relation. In the food and drug arena, they have a designation known as GRAS, generally recognized as safe, for anything that has been used long term with no ill effect, even without study. The fact that this has been used for decades without crazy incidence of skin cancer on the face tells me that it is unlikely to be in any harmful quantity.
Excellent research well done shows exactly where the fault in science is today, from everything to everything. Studies are always being funded by private industry with an agenda.
lol, I just finished helping my son write a philosophy essay for school on Plato’s allegory of the cave… this is exactly the sort of thing he was talking about! 2400 years later, and still people have difficulty questioning what is in front of them 😂
a lot of products, foods, and even water "can" cause cancer. Always do your due diligence and research before making the decision to cut things from your life always.
Any chance we can have a video on mental health… im suffering from a broken heart and could do with some advice and I love your passion for mental health, any tips?
I tried a benzoyl peroxide acne treatment a long time ago. and it caused my face to puff up so badly that the sides of my eyelids started to split from swelling.
I'm someone thst can't use this at all. It like putting acid on my face. So I can't use it. I've had issues since HS with it. So I don't use any product that use Benzoyl Peroxide. I tried as an adult thinking it was just my teenage skin. Ha Ha Nope. My skin just doesn't like it. So I don't use it. Simple as that.
that is why i love labmuffin. She literally reviewed that shtty article.. Anyway, this is just like the chemical sunscreen destroying the coral reefs agenda again. Those researcher doing the study are affiliated with some company making a new sunscreen filter 😂
which benzoyl peroxide product do you recommend cass? i haven‘t tried it yet. retinol, aha&bha are great but i still break out despite using them. hoping that bp could be what saves my skin.
Lol the timing - guess what product I just tried in my armpit for the first time a few hours ago (hint: check the very first link in the description) 😂
My br-in-law had very bad raw facial flare ups + was only diagnosed by military dr’s, that it was the cancer causing ingredients in his sunscreen that was detrimental to him. So yes, the world is now engrossed by their @Im!ghty dollar, sadly speaking on what makes their own pocket go… ChaChing
1:40 the second you cited her i had to throw this video out. So tired of youtubers paid for by companies making themselves appear independent. RU-vid is just a corporate mess.
Exactly. I like her, but she too has sunscreen w/more than 1 questionable ingredient. Seems like it may not be so easy to make it w/o it + this week World News is warning again specific products.
