Don't get me wrong - Candace is absolutely fun to mess around with in world exploration... but I didn't want to sugarcoat things in this video. I love Genshin's gameplay, especially combat and I think we will see her true potential realized maybe some time later down the line.
There was a fun build with Qiqi as a normal attacker infused by Chongyun and buffed by Shenhe and Yunjin. I may try a freeze variant with Candice instead of Chongyun. But I hope there will be a perfect fit for the future.
This!!! If her ult provided a hp-scaling shield she would actually be a good unit. It wouldn't matter that her ult provides lower damage than YunJin, you would instead be given the defensive role of shielder which I feel YunJin is not able to do for someone like Yoimiya. Those little crystallize shards tend to not be enough, meaning you have to bring someone like Zhongli or Diona who are both DPS losses (compared to having an entire free slot for someone like Kazuha).
We have no Hydro and Electro shielder after all.. (Beidou C1 doesn't count) Instead of making them we got an Electro healer with energy problems and a very niche Hydro buffer instead

Agreed. Sara and Gorou are both able to provide something unique and nobody else can, at least at c6. YunJin was another great recent 4 star, but now with Candace it feels like they're trying to make a second YunJin but with lower scaling and it kinda sucks :(
All they gotta do is lower their dmg and they won't be OP. Bennett, xinagling, xingqiu, fischl, and sucrose do high dmg and have high support utility. Either we have high dmg or we have high support utility. That will balance it out while making the new 4 star characters worth building.

Also bennett kazuha and sucrose for buffs. Honestly 40% res shred from VV alone is pretty competitive with her buff yup just double checked. 40% res shred can easily outbuff 40% dmg bonus in many cases. So she's competing with any anemo unit lmfao.
@@Mark-xw5yt I mean thats every support though competing with anemo. No one is increasing dmg enough to sacrifice anemo spot for. When I build a team anemo is my first step and I build around them. Most will lose out when it comes to abyss with multiple enemies as well since that is anemo specialty. The support it provides is too important. Sucrose can give people em, crowd control, buff dmg, and heal if you have prototype amber on all in one character no support can boast that much assist I would say she more important than bennett. They made anemo way too powerful.
@@kennethyoung7457 Yeah anemo units are crazy but I'm only talking about the artifact buff here. An artifact buffs just as much, and often more than she does. Like, her buff just isn't good.
At the first time i got her and saw her kit, i was confused which team i can build. Because u know, Hydro Infusion is not something we see in meta team and most of Hydro Characters is support/burst DPS. I agree with you Candace is not unleashing her true potential now. Hope she will shine in the future because i love her design and her personality in game especially with Dehya
I can see her working with dehya in similar matter as the bloom team he made with Kazuha. If she is EM based and does periodic damage with her abilities a burgeon team with Candace could work.

I'd just put her along with Beidou and Yunjin for the cool parries. And idk if their burst overlaps, but if it doesn't then its probably a good taser/parry team. Its probably not great for abyss, but its great for bullying bosses and passing the time.
I love how yelan came out and everyone made their "IS GENSHIN IMPACT FALLING VICTIM TO POWER CREEP???" videos and then hoyo put out like 7 mid units in a row

@@pyronado4320 Yelan and XQ has the same hydro application if you whale for Yelan either is C2 or C4, can't recall. Yelan gets an additional dice hit that scales with her max HP and has separate ICD, and activates every 1.8 seconds when attacking
The only “fun” part of her kit is that her “shield attacks” actually shatters frozen enemies like claymore attacks, i just find it amusing. At the moment, she doesn’t really do anything significant. It’s like they wanted to make a character that has team infusion for hydro, and makes her entire kit to be just that. Just crossing the list of infusion here, pyro, cryo, and hydro crossed off.
She feels like a strange lovechild between Yun jin and Xingqiu (at c6). I think she might be useful to run in the Hu/Yelan team* and replace Xingqiu (not because its better) but because it frees Xingqiu up for another team *(Assuming you don't have c1 Hu who only charge attacks)
I’m happy with the sumeru 4 stars so far. They may not be particularly great but they are fun and I appreciate being able to make new teams with them. Thinking of trying Candice/Kaeya freeze team or something.
i think she could be a good pairing with nilou. instead of infusing nilou's normal attacks with her own E, activate the hydro ring using nilou and use candace to give her hydro infusion instead. both characters scale on hp and can help each other with hydro resonance, and with nilou's ring + candace's infusion there will be a higher rate of hydro application and hence multi mega blooms (like the barbara bug), since nilou's hydro ring and regular atks/charge all have different ICDs
she is strange for me too, she is like a hydro yun jin that can be played at talent 1-1-1 XD i think her best for now comes with yelan u have extra Hp for both of them and the main attaccker do the rest, for now i'm trying to play her with noelle goro yelan and she is like a "cheap" mona with 12 duration sec instead of 8 sec,
Ok like- I wanted to get her sm on my main acc, but seeing this I'm kind of glad I am not going to roll for her- but like- maybe she's just here for bloom so she might be a good support for nilou but moving on- this makes me happy bc I finally wont have to risk getting Cyno/Venti for her
From my exp she is best used for hidro infuse and battery for othere chars so crit and and hidro/hp , team myst go for bloom so tighnary for burst damage then switch for second main dd or traveler for constant dendro with raiden or keqin for electro leaving one place open for what ever you want
I mean sumeru is pretty new and just got released relatively very recent along with its new mechanics and we still are lacking quite a lot on characters that can *truly* utilize these mechanics. I'm sure she'll get some use cases with some future character releases. There's like 6 patches worth of character releases still along the way. The only question is whether mihoyo would actually release good ones.
Finally I've been waiting for this!!! i can now give my lvl 90 dendro traveler a main dps build since he doesn't need em and make him spawn in alot of blooms and add em kuki to the team and bam😎.
Hoh boy, Dehya's gonna be a catstrophe. I get it, they really want to make a point for 5* to be desireable but.. that doesn't mean you should neglect the 4* to the point where they can easily be replaced by characters that came before them.

I made a team with her that I actualy found pretty decent… XingQ / Kazuh / Candy / Shog1 Works good but not excelent… Kazuh / Candy / Ganyu / Sayu Is a good to go explore also. But I builded her not like her standard kit, did something more like an Eula bloodstained/pale with lots of fisical dmg and sacred spear, priorizing her normal atks and her mates ultimates. Works for me, I had fun.
Considering nahida and al haitham might come in the near future.... i have a gut feeling that he will becoma a budget.. multi purpose nilou... and also she is hot.. and have heterochromia.. so that's kinda settle this for now.. :*
They should buff her personal attack and make her a DPS HEAR ME OUT. With her shield ability that reminds me of Beidu, and a really cool attack animation, combined those two you could have a main DPS that could be FUN by blocking attacks and countering them with the shield ability.
I totally expected her to be not so great and mainly pulled for her bc of her design. Sadly I got more "lucky" with Cyno who I totally didn't want... Really wished they would've put her together with Nilou instead, atleast they seem to work together decently well.
Why use candace if you could use Yun Jin with archaic petra? You get the damage bonus on NA and get 35% elemental bonus which isnt restricted to NA but rather the full kit.

I actually kinda like these less convenient 4 star characters genshin is releasing. They force you to think outside of the box to make use of them... and let's me honest here: when was the last time you felt challenged by Genshin's difficulty? These characters will make sure you do.
She's a veteran warrior, very strong lore wise, 5 star worthy character design, really good demo trailer and soundtrack. Yet she's 4 star, if that wasn't enough she belongs to the weaker spectrum of 4 stars.
Not even Decent. I made multiple teams for her and all of those. THE BEST Character to replace is HER. like that's just insane. that just means how irrelevant she is. like it's stupid how weak her damage specially that burst. and the videos about her vaping is with a Mona+Kazuha+Klee c2 combo which is UNREALISTIC and literally stupid. Mihoyo really made a bad move here. They should have made her burst explode more frequently. They probably forgot that characters like Xinqui exists that can proc water swords that freaking deal x3 more damage than her mini explosions. also I noticed her explosions are smaller size than Yoimiya's Burst. which is honestly useless in most cases.

I honestly understand mihoyo not wanting to make op 4 stars but at least make them have a purpose like sara , gorou , yunjin and heizou and the most ironic part is that she uses a shield but cant even give shields to other characters..
to be fair tho for the second point it's not like zhongli or diona have a physical buckler or smething that they pass on to other characters so if candace were to have shielding capabilities, it would most likely have to be an elemental shield

She is good main dps, in solo runs she does higher damage than Childe and has pretty high survivality due to high hp and shield. She might be weak as support, but as 4* main dps she is quite good

Character design of new 4*s: 📈📈 Power level of new 4*s: 📉📉 Literally though, I've never seen anyone say that they like bennett and xiangling's designs. I've seen some xingqiu fans but majority thinks he looks weird lol Edit: Before anyone gets mad don't get me wrong I'm not saying *I* don't like their designs. I was just stating what I've observed. Bennett is literally my first gacha character so i love him and thought he was a boy mechanic when I first saw his splash art lol. And xiangling kinda reminds me of xiaoyu (I don't play tekken I just remember a movie I watched lol). I think xingqiu looks good in illustrations but his in-game model did him dirty. Can't be denied that the newer 4*s have 5* designs though.
Yeah I also feel like that will be the case. Nilou loves bloom and with only her own abilities probably doesn't get enough hydro application. With Candace hydro infusion I can see Nilou easily being a Hydro Bloom dps.
I doubt. there would be something that would make her good. If she just doesn't apply hydro infusion she would have been insane. but with Nilou I think she might work. potentially if we get a dendro that heals.
I think Hoyoverse made candance with the wrong intent. They were too timid to make her numbers high after Hydro Infusion. So they lowered her numbers What came out was a Candace that is just overshadowed by the same mainstay characters (Xingqiu, Bennet, Xiangling) She doesn't even do much better than niche characters. For example: Candace is great with Ayato due to her Normal/Charged attack buff. Plus Water Infusion. Yunjin- Another Normal/Charged attack buffer Does Candace's work better than her! Yunjin is GEO and she 'RESONATES' better than Hydro Candance!!!? Whyyyyy- (I am distressing) She isn't even the best in her specifc areas And she doesnt have enough versatility (Like Kuki with dendro/healing) to replace anyone. I LOVE her design, her trailer. I wont say lore or character yet because I haven't seen that yet. But I wish i could at least instakill hilichurls with her! or Two shot them with her ACHILLES martial arts! Please Hoyo! I want a *Strong Female Water Bending Egyptian Achilles!*
This seems to be the case with newer 4 stars. Hopefully with the new Hydro resonance and future characters, we'll see her full potential and play style. I also wonder if Chongyun will find uses later, as well as Bennett c6 and a possible future electro infuser
eh with good supports chong is pretty strong (especially shenhe/kazuha), i got him crowned , able to clear pretty much any chamber in one minute each , but yeah , ig he is pretty underwhelming if ya compare to the other early op 4*

Well who is she going to support in the first place? The only character that deals elemental normal attack is just Ayato... maybe Childe too but she is extremely niche. Just like how Thoma was to Hu Tao. Might as well build her full dps so she can at least do stuff and we can have fun with her 🤣
i farmed everything for cyno but i lost the 50/50 so i decided i want to save it for scaramouche and now i have so many talent books that i will make candace a main dps, i dont care if she does little dmg, its pretty fun using her with yelan yunjin and zhongli!
I'm doing the same with Yelan Yunjin and VV Jean. Seems like it'll be one of those "fine outside of floor 12" teams for me which is plenty for me since I actually get to enjoy her on field a lot
I believe Nilou will greatly appreciate Candace since she's so restrictive. Also because Nilou generates her very own cores, Candace's c6 will not be a problem, which is neat. Let's hope Candace just has untapped potential
Even if she's not meta, I still plan on trying to pull her because I liked playing her demo. She's not ground breaking or anything but I imagine I'd use her in an overworld team.

I am kinda hoping that she will work with Dehya when she finally releases. With Dehya being pyro and a close friend to Candace I hope that they will have some synergy. Not holding my breath though.
Some options on how to fix Candace: 1: Make her E produce Hydro Shield. 2: Make her E generate energy. Energy generated depends on how many attacks are blocked. Timeful block gives extra energy. 3: Make her Burst heals everytime a character is switched. 4: Make her Burst gives extra Hydro particles when teammate deals elemental NA. 5. Make her E gives some stacks everytime she blocks. When she use burst, consume those stacks and buff the burst accordingly.
You mentioned yun jin a lot but I found that running ayato with both Candace and yun jin and c2 Jean or any other attack speed providing character is a fun force multiplier. Doing 30k every 1/4th of a second is fun af.
I just hate that a lot of the good looking characters end up being 4 star and turn out either trash or mid, then you have all the generic looking ones as 5 stars while being op. If they swapped Dehya and Noelle's rarity it would pretty much be confirmed that was their intention all along.
Omg yeah Dehya is soooo generic :( I was so sure she was a 4* when I saw her. She looks like a typical basic tough, stoic, "badass" punk warrior girl with the most cliche color scheme on top of an uninspiring design.
Design wise when I got her I was kinda confused why she's a 4 star then I started using her and now she is underwhelming. It would have been better is she works as an actual shielder especially on her burst. I'm still hoping she could work well with Nilou though coz not using her is kinda sad.
Why would you infuse Ayaka with hydro if the whole point of her kit that makes her shine is the fact that she can infuse cryo on her sword really easily?
@@Zorlexon iirc candice buff (dmg up ?) applies to all element infusion. but i am not sure it works on charge attack too, keqing & ayaka mostly use charge attack.
I really think hoyoverse is keeping it on the down low when it comes to designing gameplay for 4 stars and they've been introducing more niche and unique passives and gameplay idk maybe it's too early to say the meta game will probably change drastically in the future once we discover better teams and future characters
I think the problem with Cyno and Candace is that they seem to be designed to work with characters that aren't released yet as they seem very dependant on having dendro support.
Most likely these new 4 stars will just be outdone by a new 5 star support anyway in the future their ain't much hope for some of these 4 star characters. Why use most 4 star supports when kazuha, raiden, mona, yelan, zhongli exist
Meta will hardly change in reverse powercreep system, since earlier units are way stronger than the later. We can only hope the 4 and 5 stars from snezhnaya are at least half of inazuma 4 stars strength, cause looking at this pattern, snezhnaya 4 star gonna have 120 energy burst, with damage less than kuki skill.
I was hype for our 1st hydro polearm, not to mention she's really gorgeous. However her kit feels.... scuffed. Also she's the only character to wield an actual physical shield, MAKE HER USE IT OBNOXIOUSLY!! Make her burst a hydro version of Xinyan's shield and make it either have the ripple effect of the hydro duck mimics or launch waves like the hydro crane mimics (all the damage and the shield scale with HP ofc)
Did you all know that Hoyoverse started releasing 3* characters coated as 4*? It started since 2.0.. Just to make us believe that there's another roaster of characters added to make the community excited. Same can be applied to 5* too.

Lets see, releasing niche and unconventional kits that only become useful after 5 versions or so. Atleast kuki was lucky in that regard cause she was released 2 versions before dendro appeared.
I really hoped that she could be used like you would use counter beidou. But It's exactly the same as yunjin. Their dmg for the counter attack is just not even close to beidou. But i do think she can be cool in certain teams, and lets be honest we can make her work even if she isn't the all time best.
I really love her design and so disappointed in her kit. I will still build her and use her though. Hopefully she will get a buff or something in the future
I'm really sad they did her dirty with her Ult duration. Xingqiu and the starter 4*s are stronger than the current ones because Hoyoverse learned their lesson in not making 4* powerful units: either great in a niche or clunky unless investment is given. It's in a gacha game's nature, after all.
I pulled her just only to satisfied my horniness but people here don't even notice that her buff can be used anywhere as long as its a "Elemental normal attack". so Kokomi is the best one to pair with her not these and those who could use Yunjin.
So... TL;DR she's a character with no purpose at all, since YunJin buff is stronger, and Kazuha provides a "similar" buff, but not only for Normal Attacks, but also for all elementla dmg Even worse, she doesn't provide anything outside a rather low value buff, compared to other characters which people might already have well developed
She has a purpose no other character can replicate. She infuses your character's normal attack with hydro. It being usefull depends on the person. While I dont see her as top tier, she will create new possibilities others cant replicate and perhaps in the future she might jump up a tier. Just like how people trashed Kokomi and Kuki because they were less viable at the start because what they offered were niche compared to other existing characters, yet now they have their own role not many can replicate. Fischl cant replicate Kuki. Mona cant replicate Kokomi. Yunjin cant replicate Candace.

Kinda interesting that power creep is usually one of the most complained about problems for gacha games, but when a character comes out that's comparable or a bit weaker to current units it's like, welp, this one's a waste
She's not weaker, she just has no use case. Gorou and Sara are "weaker" than Benett, but still provide valuable niche buffs. She isn't the case. Also, yeah? That's how human behavior works, people will go through the path of least resistance, and resources are limited. Not everyone started day 1 like I did.

@@KrisPBacon69 true but to be fair they were the earliest characters so they had to have good if not best kits. Who was the last 4 star in liyue? Yunjin? She’s good and she was so hyped bec of her origins in Chinese opera (which was nice though) and before yunjin, I believe it was yanfei and yanfei cons are really good. She’s underrated but her kit is really strong. So yes, I still stand that Chinese/liyue char are always treated with bias. And I’m not mad about it coz this is a Chinese game. Just stating facts won’t hurt it. Also, the last liyue 5 star was shenhe, though not as famous coz she’s niche support, she’s too tier support for freeze teams.
In the night i have the weird idea to build her as carry with Kazuha, Bennett and Xiangling, with Homa Staff, was something just for fun, until she did a crit of 90k, and i was like... WTF!.
