Candace Owens "going home" comes as no surprise. She is married to a very religious catholic. She also was advocating the Hallow App to help in our prayer life and many times during her pod casts she would allude to going to church with her husband. So no, no surprises here. I am a former catholic and I am home, my temporary home, my forever home comes when I breathe my last breath or Jesus coming for his church. Which ever happens first.

She married a devout Catholic, and I feared she would succumb to his persuasiveness. She idolizes her husband and will follow him anywhere. I do not think she was a strong Christian to begin with, but there is much danger in being unequally yoked. 😔

To Catholic’s it’s all about “the church”. If someone leaves the church, they respond by saying “ you need to come back to the church that Jesus founded”. But you’ll notice something absent, they’ll never tell you it’s not about being part of a church but rather having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They’ll never tell you need to be “born again”. They’ll never tell you Christ is returning soon and you need to be ready. They’ll never tell you we’re living in the last days. They’ll never tell you there’s going to be a tribulation period.

I never hear a Catholic call themselves a Christian first. It is obvious to me that the Catholic Church teaches loyalty to it first rather than Christ. If you press that issue they will say its obvious that they are Christians by being Catholic, but, for me, and I believe the Bible, there is no need for loyalty to any denomination, but to have sound doctrine and loyalty to God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit and that salvation is through repentance of sin and faith and belief that only through Jesus are we made right with God.

One of the reasons I no longer associate myself with the prolife movement is because it has its roots in Catholicism. Abby Johnson was once a Baptist (southern, I think). She converted to Catholicism after being heavily involved in the prolife movement. I would argue that she is the face of that movement. She’s certainly a talking head who has a lot of sway. I am an abolitionist of abortion. Abolition is Gospel-centered and driven by local churches. There’s more to it but in a nutshell, we call for people to stop compromising when it comes to child sacrifice and to think biblically on the issue, something you won’t get from the Catholic Church.

Praise God I left the Catholic faith after 40 years. My eyes were opened and now praise God I know Jesus and study his word daily. My sister just yesterday questioned me about Pergatory. I told her to show me in the Bible where it’s at. She couldn’t. She said God didn’t tell us everything in the Bible. I said then man made it up. I pray for my Catholic siblings all the time. I just joined the Catholic Church as well after being raised Protestant. I have no words to describe how elevated and close to God I feel now that I am a practicing Catholic. The power of ritual is what is missing from Protestant life. I can FEEL God with me and the higher level of thinking which goes with such rituals is amazing to experience

Regarding the belief of pastor absolution or confessing sins to priests or asking dead saints to pray for us or our loved ones or praying to them. No person, priest or saint can take your sins away or make you clean or give you robes of righteousness. They can't make you fit to stand before God. Jesus is Saviour and God and it is only His shed blood that can cleanse you and make you blameless before Him and give you life. A person must genuinely believe and have truly turned to Jesus and accepted salvation and been born again. Otherwise they are still dead in their sins and trespasses. No pastor knows whether or not a person has done that and nor can they know the condition of a person's heart. Only God knows and many times a person who thought they were saved gets saved for real later and then realizes they were previously deceived and only had a superficial verbal assent. Man looks on the outside but God looks in the heart. Man's heart is deceitful and wicked. Who can know it? Furthermore why not just go directly to Jesus? Do they not have a relationship with Jesus? Every person can come to Jesus and Jesus is the way and the truth and the life and the door. He is the Good Shepherd and our High Priest and our Mediator. So why not go directly to Jesus? If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Do they not trust Jesus? Do they not know Him? Why won't they go to Him? Do they still need to repent and believe in Jesus? Are they still in their sins and trespasses? Do they need to get right with Jesus but instead go for a false reassurance that soothes the conscience? They need to repent and get right with Jesus and no pastor can do that for you. Isaiah 55 3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon...

I was raised RC, I can’t imagine anything being less Christ-like. I am still amazed by the REAL grace of God. Even after 52 years.

I can completely relate with Candace. I also am an ex-Protestant who married a Catholic man and I ended up converting to Catholicism three weeks ago. I started researching Catholicism in order to understand my husband's faith better and what I found shocked me. I always thought that the early church was Protestant and then later in the 4th century it became apostate and turned into this ugly thing known as Catholicism but turns out it's the other way around! The Catholic church IS the early church, it's 2000 years old and the only church that goes back to the time of Christ. History tells us that there was one undivided church which split into the east and west (Orthodox breaking away from Catholicism) and the 500 years ago was the reformation. So the Catholic church is not another denomination in fact it's not a denomination at all because the Catholic church is what all the other churches split away from either directly or indirectly. It's the original church. Constatine didn't invent Catholicism he just made the Christian beliefs that they were already practicing legal. Over 300 Catholic bishops came to the council of Nicea who were ratified by the Pope in Rome, so how could Constatine invited Catholicism when bishops and Popes already existed. Also if you look at the writings of the early church fathers, they all proclaim Catholicism not Protestantism. They all had Catholic beliefs and were writing about the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, the veneration of Mary, honouring the Pope and Bishops, baptising infants, confessing your sins to the Priest and on and on.ece

At one point she said she was searching, then said she was Christian with a Christ consciousness. I think it's an allegiance to her husband who is Catholic. This is why you don't mix faiths. Their children will go to one or the other. She's definitely confused.
