While traveling the galaxy with Revan, Canderous runs into one of his former friends that he fought with in the Mandalorian Wars who now wants revenge.
I love that Jagi never once mentions a meeting time. I just imagine him out there on Tatooine with his squad: "Jagi, we've been out here a week. We're tired and hungry. I don't think he's coming." "Just a bit longer…"
It was a test to see if he still wanted to hold on to his honor. If he ended up not showing up on Tatooine for the duel he would have been branded a coward. It would be seen as if he refused the duel and all the punishments levied against him would have been applied anyway.
"In the dune seas of Tatooine, I will be waiting for you." ... I don't think this guy has good intelligence. Wouldn't that be like someone saying, "In the Sahara Desert, I will be waiting for you..."?
Well Tatooine in KotOR is the best place to score some easy credits, except for selling overstock at the Yavin Station, probably due to the fact that credits are worth less on Tats since its an outer rim world. Perhaps Jagi was just doing mercenary work there and thought if Canderous chickens out least I still get paid for those gaderffii sticks and desert wraid plates.
redleader441 Can't recall what they made, if you gave me some titles, it might jog my memory. I hope this doesn't turn out that I am the HK to Paradox.
Canderous : "I did what I had to do to win the battle and save the lives of my men." Jagi : "Liar! You did it only for glory and left us to die!" this repeats a few more times ^ Revan : "He did what he had to do to win the battle and save the lives of his men." Jagi : "Yeah you right."
Actually Obsidian has always wanted to make KOTOR III. They just weren't given the green light. In fact, they were in the process of making KOTOR III until LucasArts cancelled their project. That was many years ago and later LucasArts decided to do TOR instead. ;)
+RexVergstrong I looked it up too... This is incredible ! I always loved Ordo's voice, but I played MGS2 and Kotor so far apart that I never thought of a link between those games. This makes this particular scene that much more badass !
I just realized Canderous is the same voice actor as solidus snake from MGS2. I never got far enough to do this quest when I was a kid, and I can't remember ever hearing him get flustered or pissed in the same manner as Snake's brother. Mind blown.
Provoking Perch You have to have him finish talking about his past.I've experienced everything this game had to offer ._. (from side missions to every dialog option) cause I beat it so much (lost count at 16).
It's interesting to see Canderous change after this. He often disagrees with Carth, Bastilla, the Jedi, and others about views on war and glory and honor throughout the game. But this time, the one saying that his way was wrong wasn't a Jedi, or a Republic soldier; it was a fellow Mandalorian. He loses that cool, arrogant demeanor while talking with Jagi. This whole thing makes him uncomfortable in a way nothing else does. In other conversations, he glosses over the people he's killed and the losses he's sustained over the years. Here, we see him exasperatedly trying to justify himself, to a man he KNOWS that he wronged, and even showing regret for the men he sent to die. For the first time in the game, Canderous seems to realize that he's in a fight where there's no glory, and his honor means there will be one less Mando in the galaxy, in a time where Mandos are close to extinction. It really puts a dent in his mentality for a while.
@@bobbyjoe1111 I liked the first KOTOR more maybe because the nostalgia and it being the first rpg I ever played. I love KOTOR 2 almost as much KOTOR for a number of reasons it has some of the best lore and characters but it’s not as repayable and Koribban was like 2 seconds long. It’s still the perfect sequel and does something’s better than KOTOR like force powers but I pick KOTOR over it any day
The player...didn't point out anything that Canderous hadn't already said... Canderous: I was trying to end the battle more quickly! Jagi: That's bullshit! You were hunting glory! Jedi: He was trying to end the battle more quickly! Jagi: Oh my God...you're right....
I love the two kotors more than any other rpg I've played. I just think they do an amazing job of giving every character a backstory, and giving the mc every chance to get to know all of them, especially in the second game, where hard work allows one to recruit them to the force, based on careful conversation choices and plot decisions.
Jagi:"Canderous!" Revan: "This is not the mandalorian you're looking for" Jagi walking away: "This is not the mandalorian I'm looking for" Canderous: "............. Jagi?"
Nice vid! I played this part yesterday, only I tried to Mind Trick Jagi into not fighting. Canderous told me not to use my powers on him and we fought anyway.
I understand why Jagi killed himself (stupid as the logic is) but why did the two goons he brought with him have to die? 'Oh dear, the boss called it off, want to take down the jedi and the legendary warrior on our own?' 'Yeah, let's give it a shot.' 'CHAA-YEEAARGH!!!'
Not to mention, Even if the battle would've been won, many more Mandalorians lives would've lost. If you think about Canderous made a very militarily intelligent decision, while also thinking about the lives of his comrades who weren't dead, yet unwittingly abandoned Jagi's friends to be killed by the enemy. It was actually a very hard decision, but Jagi would've been dead along with his comrades anyway if Canderous did not act.
@@Kuraakka it's alright... somehow I'd never done it either, despite playing it well over a decade... I guess I favored my Jedi companions and the rest took a backseat.
It sounds like to me like after the 2nd to like maybe the 5th play through, or how many it took before you developed your routine on how you liked to play the game, you never added the habit to talk to Canderous more. With all party members and their side quests, you have to talk to them a lot or you won't get it.
I am glad, you've changed the appearance of Jagi here. At least two more weirdos use the same skin - Igear in Taris Outcast Village and Gurney at Taris Medical Centre. They should have made different textures. =)
"So that you could have the 'honor' of being the first to kill the enemy commander!" Hm... I wonder who had the (dis)honor of being the second to kill the enemy commander.
Here is a quick way to see if anybody else has asked this to use as future reference. Hit the link at the bottom of the comments where it says "view [number of comments] all comments" Hit Control F (Ctrl F) on your keyboard. Then put in the word Xbox in it. If you do that you will see how many times others have had queries about the Xbox version.
+haruhidude If you tend to miss this kind of thing, you also probably missed: Bastila's mother, Helena. Carth's son, Dustil. Mission's brother, Griff. Juhani's enemy, Xor. Possibly Jolee's old friend, Sunry.
Well, let me give you this hint. I don't have the resources to actually pay voice actors to play those parts, then mod it in the game, all in effort to try to fool people on RU-vid.
I don't really understand what they're talking about. They're so vague on the details that I don't even care. And, Canderous is acting out of character. He should have been like, "Whatever, man, you're fine now so what do you have your panties in a twist for?"
I never cared much about Canderous, so I never had this quest. Same goes for Juhani. Too bad I missed all of this back when I played KoTOR the first few times.
@Xghgjkl: That's an interesting thought, but the problem is the "hired help" always attacks no matter what, even when Jagi kills himself and I don't see why other Mandalorians would attack in that situation considering it is Canderous we're talking about.
It could be because you have downloaded mods packaged in either WinRAR or 7zip. You will need to download their programs to open them so you can put the files in the override folder.
I did two playthroughs already and after a while Canderous stops speaking to me about stories so I never got this questline. But in all honesty I only had him as a partner on Dantooine and Kashyyyk so that could be why.
