Hi Kate, My name is Attila. Well put together information. I was taught very similar things during my training and I am still learning as I am in my fifth week in the Adult Social Care sector as a recruitment officer (40% admin / 60% candidates, roughly). Extremely busy! I hope your channel takes off, because your material is A+!

This stuff is VERY insightful. Never knew about the driver's license issue for example.

Thank you! Yes, there's so many things to think about, depending on the market you recruit for.

Really great info, I'm in the process of learning recruitment to either start as a freelancer or with an established company and this is really helpful. Thank you.

Hi Kate what do you think of the PR and Marketing recruitment sector? Is it quite saturated do you think?
@kateoneillrecruitmentcoaching
@kateoneillrecruitmentcoaching 2 года назад
Hi Rossella :) I don't know it too well to be honest, I have done a bit of marketing recruitment myself within the pharma industry, but never delved into PR. To be honest, if I was interested in that area and could identify a target market, I wouldn't be focusing on how saturated it was or not. There are so many recruitment companies out there it's hard to count, and lots of them will be focusing on the same markets, for example tech/IT. On the face of it you'd think yes it's saturated so it may not be worth going after that, but there's plenty of jobs out there for everyone and what sets you apart from your competition is the fact you are you! Clients tend to work with us for the long term because they like and trust us. Are you thinking of making this your niche? If so, you might find my video 'How to Niche Your Desk' helpful that I posted in January.

@@kateoneillrecruitmentcoaching Hi Kate thanks for your response. I've been watching all of your videos! One more question if you don't mind - for a trainee, how many placements would you say typically a general recruiter makes over a quarter (3 months)?
@kateoneillrecruitmentcoaching
@kateoneillrecruitmentcoaching 2 года назад
@@rossella3351 This can vary depending on the types of roles you're working, what geographies you cover and whether you're working a perm or contract desk...or both! When I was a consultant some quarters I'd place 11 candidates, others I'd place 17. When you're starting out it will be a lot less than that obviously. I know I haven't given you much of a concrete answer, but it really can vary.

This is a very helpful video. I have just started my career as a recruiter. I think I follow all these steps . But after watching this video I’m gonna correct myself in one point . I tell about the job role first before I ask them the questions. I think I should change that
