One thing i have noticed is folks who are always willing to share their ideas with others, God always bless them and their business continue to flourish. Many people are so stingy and never want to share ideas with anyone yet world has 7 billion people and there is room for all of us to grow in business. Thank you so much for this - during this lockdown we are all looking to get into small passive income kinda business and these types of videos are nothing less of a blessing. Thank You and May you continue to be successful in your business. I will keep you posted how it goes with mine.

Yes. Because those who are willing to do the work are the ones that will see a fruitful business. One can get all the knowledge about how to do things, but if we are not willing to do the work then we won't succeed. Thank you for sharing! God will bless you abundantly!

I found using a straw over the wick helped when gluing them down. Also, I use needle nose pliers to pull out any extra glue that may have squeezed up through the small hole at the base of the wick tab to allow the candle to burn down as low as possible and pull up wax through osmosis instead of snuffing out at the top of the wick tab. This makes people feel better about their candles’ efficiency with less waste.

I bought a candle making kit at a tag sale for 5 bucks. 5 years later I had the largest candle company in Ct. By the time I sold it, I had a candles store, gift shop, restaurant, Ice cream shop, old fashioned candy, fudge, and cool toys. Everything happened so fast that it just dawned on me one day as I looked around, just how much I had built from that one little 5.00 box. We received all our wax by the pallet and our fragrances came in 25 pound cans. I remember looking down all of the isles of fragrances on shelves, the pallets of waxes, the pouring tables and melting tanks and thinking how did this all happen? So many crazy stories! A couple quick tips for you. 1. use a tube to apply your wicks to the jar. 2. lay down a layer of painters plastic on your work area. Any spills can just be peeled off and saved and you can reuse the same sheet several times. You can get at home depot, 9x400 ft for about 20 bucks. So it will last a long time and seriously save tons of cleanup. I used the scrap wax for fire starters or scrap wax candles which we sold at our annual bag sale. All of the scrap candles and seconds you can fit in a bag for 20 bucks. One rule, if the bag breaks, you have to buy a second bag. It was cool watching! I remember those days in my kitchen. All I knew at the time was I liked doing it, but you never know where you'll end up. Good luck!

For anyone trying to buy a roasting pot, it's typically called a crock pot or a slow cooker. At walmart for about $20. Also, I'm wondering if that laser thermometer is detecting the correct surface to test. They typically only test surface temperatures, not air temp, and it looks like it's going right through the wax and hitting the pan. I bet the pan is 200f, but it's questionable if the wax is.

What temp should the wax be when adding dye? The video is awesome. I am just getting started, and I have watched your video a number of times. Thanks so much for giving everyone the benefit of your experience and expertise.

Donna Ellingsen you are welcome! The dye can be added as soon. As the wax is melted down, no specific temperature.

Such a great video! I make my own candles too but it's interesting to see how others make theirs and what materials are used. I would love to see maybe a time lapse video of one of these candles burning 😊

@@SunshineSoapandCandleCompany that would be amazing! Will look forward to watching it. I would love to buy one of your candles to review on my RU-vid channel as they sound delicious but I think it would be a bit costly posting to the UK 🤔😯

This is the best Candle Tutorial I've seen yet! Thank you for publishing this! I do have a question for you because I make candles for holiday gifts. Have you ever had any problems with the wax discoloring the candle dye after a certain period of time? I use a cheaper soy wax blend for my candles and am getting the discoloration or a unpleasant marbled effect. I'm looking to switch wax blends.
@SunshineSoapandCandleCompany
@SunshineSoapandCandleCompany 6 лет назад
Marx_BreyerHorse _Obsession hi thank you so much! Yes, I have had the discoloration issue with 100% soy wax! Ugh! If you are still using this wax, try pouring when the wax gets to 120 degrees or below. It won’t turn colors then. Also, keep it out of temperature changes like room temp hot or cold. Or you could just try some joy wax! 😊

amazing!! YOUR ROCK!!! I was messing it up so badly, putting parafin wax in my crock pot, melt, add color, add scent. and pour. I had NO IDEA how badly i was messing it up! I have always wanted to make my own candles to sell along with my hand made cards and Americana Crafts. However, I did NOT feel right about putting my name on it. Again, thank you. This is something I will do immediately and hopefully I can make some money and improve my life. I am disabled and HATE depending on the income from the govt. I wanted something more. I think this will really help. so thank you! and God Bless You. A Candle fan in Maine!!!

Hey there! I just made my first batch of candle, warm sugar cookies! They turned out great. My husband helped me out alot which I didn;t think he was going to be into that kinda thing they are curing right now I am going to let them set overnight before I light one. I think I am going to give these ones as gifts and then maybe so bigger.. I olny made a about a dozen 8 oz ones but turned out great no sink hole they had alittle bubbles on top but a smooth them out with a heat gun. I thouught about doing a layered candle like half warm sugar cookie and the other half other cinnamon bun I think my biggest thing I need to work on is my packing, I am doing them in Mason or ball jars I am pretty creative so I think I will think of something. There are some girls that work at another branch of the company I work for whos wanting to try em out. I can't wait to gift them and get any feed back that I can. Do you have a P.O. box I would love to send you one and you give me some feedback on them cause I don't think I would've even attempted to do this with out yout tutorial! TY bunches

I made my first batch of candles using your video as a guide. After forgetting to stir after adding fragrance, spilling the wax EVERYWHERE, digging out a hair in the hot wax, over-filling the jars, gluing some crooked wicks that were not trimmed well, I finally finished. After all of this, the candles actually came out pretty good!!! I thought I would never make candles again. Thanks again for the info. LOL

Great video, I like the way your presenting the video and how patient you are. I would like to start candle making business, I've been watching videos on how to make candles, some people use soy others use soy and paraffin blend ( as you mentioned in your video) but 1) I don't know what kind is better from a business point of view I mean customer preference ( from your own experience which sells better). 2) how to decide what type of wick?? Wick size according to type of wax or just jar size. 3)how to chose type of fragrance oil to buy according to the type of wax. 4) what type of wax better for strong scent.note. Am starting from scratch so am a really a beginner on this hoping I can kindly get some guidance from you ,☺️
@SunshineSoapandCandleCompany
@SunshineSoapandCandleCompany 5 лет назад
Iman Almuzien hi there! You really need to do your research on what type of wax you like best, then you will practice making a really good candle out of it. Once you are ready to sell it, you will attract customers that also like your product :) this is going to take time and patience on your part because you will have to do some testing to figure out what you like best. Wick size depends on wax type and jar type. Read up on it and test, test, test!
