Hello everyone! I thought I would share another popular candle recipe. This 8 ounce option is really nice for a lot of people. They are easier to ship and don't cost as much to make and gift. In this video, I give you a full step by step tutorial on how to make an 8 ounce candle that smells amazing. Hopefully this video inspires you to create your own.

What wax do you recommend using for a strong hot and cold throw? I plan to buy joy wax for my first time but curious as to your input as to if their is a better wax for strong throws

Natures Gardens Candles do not have CD 7 wicks. Where do I get them from? Does anyone know?

If your looking to test out coconut soy wax , try sixteenseventeen coconut and soy or the wooden wickco coconut and soy ! Or Vanessa has a really great combo wax to !

I wouldn't worry myself about fragrance flash point temperature - as its not gonna set itself on fire even pure (not gonna mention that pouring it into wax its get diluted). Flash point means fumes gonna set on fire if there is source of ignition - open fire

So I’ve tried CD 6, 7, and 8 wicks using joy wax as well! In similar jars as this 9oz, is it normal for the wicks to let off the black smoke when burning the first and/or second time around? And The flames don’t really dance the first time I burn them, the second time it usually dances a lot and let’s off the smoke.. 🥴 thank you so much for your videos, and your help! ☺️

Sometimes this happens. The smoking and dancing can be a sign that the wick is too big. Sometimes you can get smoking if you have used too much fragrance or the type of fragrance oil can be more prone to smoking.

I found that CD wicks soot more than other wicks not only in Joy wax but all of the waxs i have tried....I don't care for that soot especially when using a glass vessel...I am testing premier, eco, htp, and Lx...

I just got the same 8 oz jars from Uline. But I ordered CD 10 wicks.. do you think that will cause any issues with the burning of the candle compared to the CD 7 wicks?

Yes, I think CD will be too big for this size jar and wax.

I thought 8-9% was better for HT in this particular wax? Does that depend on your scents?

Yes, this all depends on what fragrance you are using and other factors too!

When I transfer my wax to a non metal container it starts to harden so quickly..what can I do to avoid that

Depending on what type of wax you are using you may want to just stick with the metal pour pitcher.

im just starting out and i didnt buy anything to stick the wicks. my husband and i were burning a candle out so i could use the jar again and the wick shifted because all i had was child safe hot glue from doing crafts with my daughter. he ordered me wick stickers when he realized the glue melted lol

I've not tried that way. I've always dipped the end in the wax and then placed them in the bottom

I'm having such a hard time with the hot throw from joywax. I have tried multiple combinations and while the candle smells great in the jar...I get nothing when it's lit. I'm watching your videos again to see if I have missed something but at this point I have 40 pounds of 6006 coming this week.

Sorry you are having trouble. The fragrances I share on RU-vid with joy wax work very well for me! Not all fragrances have a great scent throw though. The testing process can get frustrating and expensive.

@@inkyimpressions I switched to Probelnd 600 from TFC. I was able to get a decent candle from 6006 in an 8 oz jar with an eco 4 wick but it wasn't consistent so I switched. hope that helps!!

@@truemoonmagic4497 that actually does help! Thanks so much! I haven’t tried problend 600 just the Problend 650 for tarts. With the eco 4 wicks and the 6006 wax what jars did you use tho? I use mostly the 8 oz straight sided jars and then I also just got some 4 oz straight sided jars. Do you have a website?

Heads up, those thermometers are not accurate. They can be off by up to 10 degrees.
