I'm no singer, so you have no excuse not to try it yourself. And, you're all are correct it needed the music box and lullaby treatment to fit it into the game, though i still like the "Put The Blame on Mame" one for the Klezmer vibes.
Offered in the in the interest of trancing the cultural lineage of this rhyme, for students of DnD and music.

Just used this in an Adventure League game. We got a speaker and played it on repeat for all the tables. We even had a timer go off for each event. It was so creepy and excellent. I got under my players skin in all the right ways. Thanks!

I just played the one shot and the mj used all 3 songs during the adventure: it worked VERY WELL. I consider these versions to be the the true ones! ;) Good job

The party returns home after completing a task, but they hear a strange song as they approach, growing louder with each step. When they arrive at their house, they find a strange music box playing an addictive melody, left by one of their enemies (but which one?). Soon, they find themselves humming it unconsciously, then discover that anyone who hears the tune, starts humming it too...

Possibly will be running a streamed game of this adventure as a one shot, and wondering if it's alright to use your recordings of the rhyme for ambiance. Got them on bandcamp a while ago for some home games, and damn if it didn't freak out the groups.

hi there Matthew, I didn't do it because it would be a spoiler, and left the last verse bank as foreshadowing, for your players, but if you let me know the context you would like the last verse for i will.

@@cielferma I would love to have a version with the final verse. I was imagining playing this version when they find the music box, or have the Kenku sing it for them, and when the music box was fixed I would play the full version. If you could make it, that would be awesome! If not, I understand!

Do you mean, the original lyrics in the book? I did notice many people have changed the lyrics, to fit other tunes, but not because they felt the were bad. I was mostly just curious about what, the under lying tune was. So I really had to keep the lyrics. I obviously had to double up the chorus. What chorus has no repetition? I took the bold as as old school x2 after it!

@@cielfermaYes, the original in the book. I feel like Wizards have always had a track record for bad poems. Like, lots of mangled syllables and stuff. The changes you made definitely help though
