The funny thing is, all the people that keep mentioning his weight are perfect examples of what is wrong with society's interpritation of music. Who gives a rats ass what somone looks like, its about the music....period, if your so worried about looks go watch some Pop videos and stay the hell away from the metal!!!
As a fat guy, I have to say that Messiah did a fabulous job. If I were up there, I would be out of breath after the intro. Plus, he does all that running on stage. Gotta give the fatty some credit.
Watch Messiah getting the crowd going! I mean wow!! And people here are talking about his voice.... This is pure 100% live music. Messiah doesn't need to prove his voice to anyone...!
@@idontknow-ws7ri that's stupid. He's 50. Here about 40. He's not 20 anymore. His voice hasn't been in its prime since the mid to late 90s. Of course its not like it used to be.
@waylonbloodskull666 Don't forget King Diamond, Rob Halford, Bruce Dickenson and Dio. They along with Messiah are on a GOD tier for clean vox in the metal world
McDonalds I eat you, the beauty of your fries so warm and tender they go right to my thighs In tears I will be, as the last fry enters me so give me blue cheese dressing, and I'll reach my density No rest for the obese KFC refused me my sleep This was the last night of my life with a bucket of chicken on my knees I drank to the devil with servants It's good with a friend where you go No one would share my last chalice So I drink to the ones that I know
"Meine Herren Meine Dame, meine Bruder Sister, Vater, Mutter und die Publikum." Which is quiet good German for "Ladies and Gentleman, my Brothers, Sisters, fathers and mother, and the whole crowd"
I speak no German so given the lyrics of the song I’m shocked that he’s not saying something about “hanging” and “damnation” - it sounds like “meine hangen, meine damnen” or something like that!
Sunrise I greet you, the beauty of your light so warm and tender was never the night In tears I see you, the last time it will be so give me your blessing, I'll meet my destiny No rest for the Sinner Hypnos refused me my sleep This was the last night of my life with wine I pondered on my deeds I drank to the devil with servants It's good with a friend where you go No one would share my last chalice So I drink to the ones that I know Ring brother, ring for me Ring the bells of hope and faith Ring for my damnation I am at the gallows end With sad emotions, I sing this epitaph my swansong, my headstone, the farewell of my heart The hills of Tyburn, up where the gallows stand only the vultures will come to see me hang Behold the sight of my Golgatha the gallows enlightened by the moon proud of his art are the carpenter his creation a tool for my doom I am the outcast no winner I am the fallen the one that lived all his life as a sinner The Tempter has called me his son Soon it is time the dark has now fled and I see the place for my death the priest he will pray for my lost soul I'm sure he's wasting his time A sinner, a fool or a devil or just a victim of life It's no fun to burn in hell's fire but I sure have enjoyed my life Ring brother, ring for me Ring the bells of hope and faith Ring for my damnation I am at the gallows end
@badassme1000 No you're right, you certainly are- however I must add that the absence of harsh vocals doesn't really make Candlemass much less doom than other doom bands like My Dying Bride, Katatonia (etc). Considering the first established doom metal piece was Black Sabbath's Black Sabbath (which didn't feature any harsh vocals), you can't say that this isn't doom metal (though I'd say it still features regular heavy metal). Saying he should lose some weight here was a pointless comment.
guys messiahs voice is unique i can recognise it anyware.. it was messiah i know his voice and ive also read it. Johan Langqvist was the session vocalist. if you dont belive me look it up on wikipedia
i had the same problem cuz i read it on wikipedia but i scrowled lower and i saw the normal line up with messiah on vocals and i cliked Johan Längqvist and it sayde that he was the session singer
Conheço praticamente nada do Candlemass, mas esse vocal é memorável. Peguei tanta simpatia por esse cara que digo sempre q é meu vocalista preferido no metal kkkk Essa música é foda
I have been singing this at work all day. Damn it's too good!. Pissing all my work colleagues with my "worst" Messiah vocals is definitely a highlight.
Johan sang on epicus not messiah. Messiah joined the band after johan refused to join. A session player is someone who is hired to play on an a recording whos not in the band. At the time Candlemass had no singer. Messiah in interviews said that he shaped his voice to sound like Johan so he could join the band so how unique is that? On this song it is messiah singing but this is off nightfall not epicus.
lol why DO you comment then? you really lack any intelligence, nub auf jeden Fall ein genialer Auftritt! Am besten finde ich die Stellen wo der deutsch spricht :D gar nicht mal so schlecht, dafür dass der die paar Worte vermutlich nur für die Tour gelernt hat ;-)
@skeendevil Well said. That man has one of the best voices in metal. How he looks, to me, simply compliments his immense talent by the simple fact his not-to-standard-looks don't hold him back from sharing his gift.
@waylonbloodskull666 You're damn right. Even a friend who has nothing to do with metla at all was impressed by messiah's voice, cause he's an amazing singer and not just screaming all the time.
Мессия мне нравится намного больше, чем нынешний чувачок. У того голос более хриплый, рокерский, а не певчески-заворожительный, потусторонний, как у Месси
No, Greatmetalmusic is right; the vocalist on Epicus Doomicus Metallicus is Johan Langqvist. Messiah does perform on the bonus material though. Great video, by the way.
