It is Tobias of course. On that gig Emil Jon's brother plays the bass guitar. Was surprising for me because have a year earlier I saw them at the God's of Darkness tour and there was Peter playing the bass
This is actually even better than the version on the album, everything sounds more raw, epic, the drums absolutely perfect, the guitars sound beautiful, and his vocals, I’ve only heard a few people whos vocals sound amazing live and he’s one of them for sure
Lyrics: I fell deeper and deeper as light now was gone I could feel the dark embrace my soul Agony was no more, and so was pain At this point of solitude I knew I was there... There where I belong Thus far a long journey through my soul's infinity It has been a journey far beyond mortality I have found what I wanted, tranquillity I'll thrive on evil, eternally I flew over crystal ground My existence numb Over orchards of grievance, Sorrow and tears This beautiful silence... It calls me now Black fog devours me but I can see it all The monument of my past, The land of seven horizons' before my eyes I reach the land of spiritual rest It's the dawn of descending - I am the Somberlain Down to evil divine domain Lord of infernal, gather my strength Carry me through the gates It's the dawn of descending - I am the Somberlain Down to evil divine domain For I'm eternal night - I'm the Somberlain Precede my evil divine domain
Surprisingly good drumming for a live gig. The typical live version not free of imperfections that one literally ends up preferring to the studio version. Raw and alive
Wish they videoed the entire set. We need more than just one song from this era. And yes, I have the live album from this show - I want more pro video footage.
Why isn't the harmony of the dual guitar melodies at 2:19 audible in this upload of the live video? In other uploads, you're able to hear both guitars.
Because they only have two guitars? On the record Dan Swano would double, treble and quadruple tracks and harmonies in the studio. As live performances go this actually sounds better than the record.
Yeah, but I've seen other uploads of this very concert on RU-vid before, and in them you can clearly hear the other guitar as well. Like in this one for example, where that same part starts at 2:15 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n6CP1_-BxK0.html Here, there's just one guitar audible.
This is the video with the original sound. I have this on a VHS from 1998, a compilation from nuclear blast. The video in your link have the audio from the live legacy album. That one is mixed in a studio and can even be corrected or overdubbed.
