I agree this by far the most boreing sport ever and I don’t know how these kids can play with that creepy white ghost thing that looks like a penis with that creepy ass smile.
Much more difficult than 10 pin. And if you knock all pins down in all ten frames you only score 100. The highest 3 game score for pro adults is 545 (out of 900) so you understand this is a very difficult game. Much harder then regular 10 pin bowling.
Candlepin legends: Jeff Surette, Paul Berger, Gary Carrington, Tom Olzsta, Dick O'Connell, Chris Sargent, Mike Morgan, Shawn Baker, Dave Richards, etc.
I see a lot of laughing at this, but candlepin is quite a bit more difficult than standard tenpin in certain ways. And to people saying they'd throw the ball a lot faster, it's common for a high-speed roll to simply send one pin directly into the one behind it and hit nothing else. Don't knock it 'til you try it... unless laughing at people is really what turns your crank.
do these children commenting not realize candlepin, duckpin, and 5 pin are not for children and have been around for a hell of a long time? it's really cute to see how the only people who leave these comments are 12 year olds with gaming channels. it basically says it all. "it's le autistic because i don't understand it Xppppppp"
I'm sorry you feel that way. But yes, it is bowling. It's just a different style of bowling and only exists in the northeast and Canada. It doesn't get the national attention because it is a lot harder than traditional 10 pin bowling.
I'll admit, it's hard to watch because you don't have the big spectacle of strikes and spares all the time. But, it is quite fun to play.....well, I think it is.
I got ya. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to flame on you. I respect your opinion and I enjoy 10 pin bowling myself. I live in New Hampshire and the closest 10 pin bowling house is 30 or so miles away when I have half a dozen candlepin houses within 30 miles. So, I'm more bias towards candlepin. I just see all of the comments here saying "it isn't bowling". And "it looks stupid". Or "it's a ripoff." When he/she has never tried it.
This is soo cringe to watch. This is the type of "bowling" I would find in an arcade. This isn't bowling, they just throw the ball really hard at the pins, hoping for the pins to fall down. There is no hook involved in this, just throwing a half pound ball down the lane trying to get lucky. I could keep going on and on about this, but I think I've said enough
EvilSlyGuy skill? I admit candlepin is harder to score higher, but it does NOT involve more skill than ten pin, where there is hooking, combined with different lane conditions, heavier balls, etc., versus just flinging a light ball as hard and accurate as possible at the pins
@@TampaBayGator20 Versus trying to also pick up spares which in 10 pin you see the same thing over and over but in candlepin has way more spare combinations, and you have 3 throws to knock everything down (since you can't exactly pick up the 7,10...)
I am in a bowling league and in high school bowling and every time they say bowling I think to myself this is the furthest you can get from bowling the ball is tiny and the pins are a mile apart it is ridiculous.
Matt Moorlach There is a whole league at my bowling alley on saturdays, they all meet up there and my dad, aunt, grandpa, and my grandma who bowls on tuesdays bowl there. I'm basically my young dad, I'm 13 starting bowling again after I cracked a ball, don't ask. I'm him because his dad, my grandpa, or as my friend calls him, which her mom bowls, she calls my grandpa the walking ATM. Like, what? My grandpa took my dad to a bowling alley every certain day, and bowl and he started at , I started a bit early, but restarted at 13. Most of my friends there are all there because their parents or grandparents bowl.
Matt Moorlach This looks ridicously hard, and are they using the candle pin alleys balls, don't they have their own, if they're such "big league" they must be stupidly weak to do this, no offense, I'm bowling with a 16 pound ball and I'm short midget 13 year old, well I'm 5 something feet, not really a midget, but I'm short. So, if they're all bowling with these tiny balls they're weak. Like, I can bowl with 16 pins, and they should be bowling in real bowling their all 11 year olds..... This looks kind of bowling. Btw, 30% of my dad's side of the family are bowlers.
Viktor Berishaj ikr, I throw a REAL bowling, my average is 15 mph, and they're throwing it like 0.01 mph. I'm 13 bowling with 13 pounds and 16 pound balls :/
To everyone freaking out about this not being bowling: at no point does this video or title try to convince you that it's anything other the candlepin bowling, which is its own game. Just cause you play bowling doesn't make this a fake game. Also, it's for young children to appear to be having fun, if you're so against that you need to grow up a bit
too bad there isn't any near the area, I really wanna try it! (candlepin, that is) oh and I saw a comment that said there has never been a 300 in candlepin, is that true?
A really good bowler has about a 1 in 7 or 8 shot of a strike. So, the chances of getting 12 straight is 1 in 7 or 8 to the 12th power. You’d have a way better chance of surviving 2 lightning strikes in the same afternoon. Strikes are largely luck, though the best bowlers will certainly make more.
This brings me back. As a junior, I bowled in leagues for seven years, from sixth grade through my senior year of high school. I was on the Massachusetts Junior State Championship team in 1975, but I was not nearly as good as these kids.. Three of them are outstanding, and it is amazing the fourth qualified after bowling for only two weeks. The 1-7-10 pickups were incredible. Thank you for bringing us this video.
There’s two styles of bowling I like the most and those are duckpin and ten pin. Ten pin is the easiest while duckpin is more challenging. There’s no perfect game ever bowled in duckpin as well.
THE RANDOM VIDEOS CHANNEL true! I never saw that game but it looks way more complicate. The light ball making it powerless comparing to a heavy one (also lowering the accuracy) , the pin form which don't bounce the same way. I would be awful at this
Ya know if you’re gonna make a rip off of a game make it better than the original as a youth bowler It actually embarrasses me that somebody thought this was an actual good rip off of bowling. Candle pin is a horrible embarrassing game compared to bowling
Lol so you didn't know adults play this on a professional level? I found a few months ago but i wasn't a dick when I found out. Not sure what your problem is.
I'll just leave this video link here and if you don't wanna watch, I won't lose any sleep. Peace. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HLsRKGYNXio.html
What even is this?? U can’t call this bowling when they are literally 1 pound “bowling balls” and not even real pins. I just don’t understand why they think this is “legit”.
Well bowling is when you roll or bounce a ball. Which is exactly what they're doing. This isn't "10-pin bowling." But it's bowling. It's candlestick bowling. And adults play this professionally as well. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HLsRKGYNXio.html
Justin Hill ok well when u see one of the greatest bowlers in the world come from candle pin let me know. Cause as I can see it’s nothing like bowling. It’s not pro candle pin u can tell because none of them are sponsored. And it’s probably only pro because they are adults. If they were actually bowling. I can see them being very good.
Amazing that people who comment negatively about candlepin bowling don't have the first clue about the game . Candlepin is much more popular in Mass, NH and Maine along with the Canadian maritimes. All types of bowling are great in their own way. It's too bad we have to have ignorant fools posting idiotic comments.
Captfenway 99 I’m sorry, but this just isn’t bowling, this is a fucking arcade game. That’s all it should be at least. This is just a game where kids who suck at actual bowling go to feel better
No duh there are kids that have been only bowling for two weeks that made it to the finals. This isn’t real bowling and it never will be. If I practiced for one day bowling like this I could probably beat all the kids there. I’m just saying my opinion, no hate please.
You're Wrong This game is fricking hard, I could barely beat string bowling, that's why I bowl with a REAL BOWLING BALL. I bowl with 16 pound, or 14. These kids are 11, and I'm 13, at that age I was bowling with 13's, how are they bowling with these balls barely 2 pounds. My whole family would laugh 30% of my dad's side are all bowlers, and I might become one soon too.
Never heard of Candlepin Bowling, myself. What is the other type of Bowling, that has smaller pins and there are more than ten pins standing, if I recall correctly? I did it when I was a young buck, now I am 39 and can't remember the name of it...Lol!
Please stop calling this sport bowling!!!! Not even the same concept, so try calling it Candle Stick Roller or something. Really dumb idea when bowling is a perfect sport the way it is thank you
definition of bowling "any of several games in which players standing at one end of an alley or green roll balls at standing objects or toward a mark at the other end, especially a game in which a heavy ball is rolled from one end of a wooden alley at wooden pins set up at the opposite end. Compare boccie, candlepins(def 2), duckpins(def 2), lawn bowling, ninepins(def 1), tenpins(def 1)."
wtf.... is this? this iss umm huh bowling? how? im sorry to say this but to me it's bowling but with weak as hell kids... i mean im 13 and i can lift and throw a hook for god sakes
I watch how well this little show was shot, and I wonder why all of the many Candlepin matches posted to RU-vid these days only have the one camera angle, behind the bowlers. This is so well done.
You don’t need skill for whatever this is. All you need to do is stand up there and throw that.. thing. Real bowling is a hell of a lot more difficult as weight blocks actually will cause the ball to hook. This will, and quote me all you want, THIS WILL NEVER EVER BE A BIG “SPOTRT”
Everything you just said is not even close to true. The averages for this sport are much lower because it's much more difficult. So please don't comment when you don't know what you're actually talking about.
