Tony Todd, the guy who played Candyman (well, the real Candyman) was really iffy about shooting the scene where he's covered in bees. He was able to negotiate it that he got $1000 for every bee sting, ending up with a $23,000 bonus by the end of the shoot.

Saw this in the theater in 92. Walking out to my car, I saw a couple in their car looking in the rearview mirror chanting "Candyman, candyman, candyman..." When they said it the fifth time, I slammed my fists down on the trunk lid and shouted "Whatta you want?" They both jumped, the guy got out of the car and hollered at me. I just threw him the devil's horns and kept walking.

I remember trying to watch this back in 92 at the age 9. It took me at least three tries in 2 years to get through the whole movie. When I finally watched the whole thing I felt like I went through hell and back. Even though I had seen Chucky and Freddy, this felt like a whole new level of scary. To this day it creeps me out. Even the recent one that came out last year doesn't come close to the original. Love this movie!

Candyman was setting Helen up to be an infamous killer so that she's remembered and talked about, living forever like he does. If he wanted her dead like the others he'd have just killed her and been done with it. He was in love with her because she could be a descendant of the woman he died for in the 1800s

I grew up in the projects in Detroit and there is no way I would have crawled through that hole in the bathroom wall for on reason only COCKROACHES. Those bugs give me the creeps. This movie was better than I remembered. I think the last time I saw it was when it came out. Any time I see Tony Todd in a movie though I think of Candyman. I watched a movie last night for about the fifteenth time and thought of J, the movie was Se7en. I am going to end my comment with this "Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew, cover it with chocolate and a miracle or two?"

Pretty sure that when Candyman puts his finger out to feed the baby, he's feeding him honey from his bees.

You just know that Candyman the kind of petty that passes someone on the highway then starts driving real slow but don't let you pass.

The fact they had to actually pay the gangs off that lived in Cabrini green to film there . Mann I remember being so afraid of this movie so traumatized i still won’t speak of his name while in front of a mirror movie or not 🥴😂😂

It's amazing how much a good score can add to a movie. The pipe organ, piano, and operatic voices give Candyman that classic, creepy, old gothic feel that stays with you long after the credits roll. And Trevor deserved exactly what he got!

I saw this in a flea pit cinema, alone, on a mid afternoon showing. I was the only person in the room and I sat centre front row for the leg room. Tony Todd's voice coming out of a buzzy, cheap-assed dolby surround system, with one speaker directly over my head... I swear I could feel his breath on my neck everytime he spoke. It was fucking awesome. The male toilets in the cinema weren't too different from the ones on Cabrini Green, either. Added to the experience.

What was the most terrifying thing in this movie was the moment Helen saw the video of herself a screaming “Murderer” while tied to the gurney. She saw him and of course he wasn’t on the video.

The decade of the 80s was a very great time for horror. We had child's play, the puppet master, phantasm, hellraiser, Nightmare on Elm street, all of those.

The sequels start to get more campy, but this one is a good gothic horror romance.
