This question sounds crazy heh and dare I say, a "no brainer" . I was wondering, if you have already gone through the "CCC" evaluation, but you have general everyday thought bubble questions. Would someone call/ text the same number to ask said questions? Or would another # , and or email suffice? 😊 Love what yall do, thank you!

I like the functions the palm rest can be used for. I have tried using my raven which doesn't have the palm rest in a manner. That it could function as such. The first few times in pratice I failed big time. I'm working on cane rotations and power strike positionings and spacing from possible threats. Partitioning space I understand can be difficult for some older folks with mobility issues. I'll be going into a few cities in the future and having my cane and understanding of it's uses for defense and offense will provide great comfort.

Your videos are powerful. Thank you. What I see missing is the point that most of us who need a cane are not mobile or quick footed as you. Our biggest fear is being knocked down. Can you do videos where YOU hardly move your feet like us please?

Thank you for commenting and your kind feedback WonderY! - What you're seeing on these videos is potential. In our current programs we have Caners with different degrees of challenges to circumvent. Right now enrolled in our curriculums we have Caners who: need 2 Canes to ambulate, Prosthetic leg, going through chemo, paralysis from stroke and ofcourse limtations from neuromuscular injuries and pain. We take the principles and focus on what you CAN do as oppossed to what you can't do, because...criminals don't care. - We will submit your request and look forward to it being feautred soon. Keep Canin' and Stay Safe!

Thank you for your reply. I really like your videos but let me apologize. I re-read my message and it seems like I may have come across with a "yeah but what if" attitude. Not my intention. I have been a leg amputee since 6 years old and can do anything on crutches what most people can. But on my prosthesis after I survived covid I now have a balance "fear". I have always liked canes but now seems I am needing one more and more. I make my own. Some have blades some have whips in them. So now I'm gravitating away from those illegal canes I am so attracted to wood canes anyway. I have found when we play fight and now that my prosthesis does not fit properly since I lost weight(cant just afford a new $75,000 leg) my balance is off so I hop to get my good foot in place for balance to defend or strike. What I want to learn and practice are ways to quickly hop to a stable stance to use the cane as your videos show. The problem with a prosthesis is once the knee bends you have no muscle to support it from not bending all the way or falling. In most instances you basically become a one legged target. Any ideas suggestions comments are always welcome. I realize you get feedback from all sorts of clients with stories to pass along. God bless you for your videos and teachings. Humbly... Thank you.

Thank you for commenting and clarifying WonderY! Again, the way we have been training Caners with all sorts of physical challenges has been by taking the ACSD principles and focusing on what people CAN do. Drilling by not moving the lower body is part of ACSD CaneFlow training and Joe Robaina has posted examples recently. Handling minus footwork is challenging for those who aren't used to it and that challenge leads to progress and better Cane handling. Coincidentally, on our public facebook page (American Cane Self Defense) is featured CAH 106 Top Cane winner Todd Lund who happens to Cane with a prosethetic leg. He has now graduated to the Advanced Curriculum and after his first class said "this training will do wonders for my mobility". We make no medical claims, instead, Caners like Todd describe benefits from ACSD sturctured movement based training beyond self protection. To his credit and others like him ( Roger Carter, Ken Cogley, Stephen Birgells and others), seem to have a different "get it done" mindset. When coupled with a supportive community and ACSD Coaches providing correctives and accounability, they are proof of "Real Caners, Real Results". - If it's outcomes based training you're looking for, it won't happen from watching RU-vid video.(YouTubde is a great catalog to see whose message resonates with you best). Functional results require a set of trained eyes for corrective feedback and a caring community to nurture the process. You can learn if it might work for you by calling 800-289-8188. God Bless you as well and thank you for always for the opportunity to serve. Stay Safe!
