It’s more like a 65/35 in favor of canelo. There’s too many unknowns for Crawford moving up 14lbs (will he be too bulky for his frame, how much speed will he lose, will he have enough power to deter/hurt canelo, etc). Canelo is nice and settled in this weight class. Just cuz Shawn got handled by bud doesn’t mean bud can whoop everyone else. Buds ring IQ will be there, but you can’t really implement a plan if your tools prevent you from doing so

Canelo Alvarez would walk straight through Crawford. This isn’t even a matter of who is more skilled, it’s a matter of physics. Canelo Alvarez has taken punches square on the face by much bigger, stronger, fresher men than Bud Crawford. Add to that the fact that Crawford would be moving up in weight at 37-38 years old and you have to account for an inevitable loss in hand and foot speed. Unless Crawford becomes Sugar Ray Leonard overnight, Canelo wins by devastating KO. That’s no disrespect to Bud but he just doesn’t belong at 168.

For those who say Crawford didn’t carry his power to 154… when Bo Mac told Crawford to turn it up in the championship rounds he hurt Madrimov in the 11th. Madrimov clinched for dear life. I’ve watched that fight plenty of times. It was Madrimov erratic and complicated style that was difficult to crack but Crawford eventually cracked the code but it was too late for a KO. Don’t say he only had 11 pro fights when Beterviev got 20 as a pro. Madrimov have 381 amateur fights. & I ain’t saying Crawford would KO Canelo but people keep saying the same cliche stuff. It’s really a 50/50 fight Crawford skill advantage could allow him to outbox Canelo and win on the cards but I give Canelo the power advantage over Crawford. Don’t say Canelo will just walk Crawford down cause Crawford also have good footwork but if Canelo find him and hit him clean he could hurt him but it all depend on how well Bud can adapt to the weight class. Crawford is stronger than most fight fans think and at 165 - 168 he will have more weight behind his punches. How much did Edgar Berlanga's weight drain/rehydration take from his performance? A fighter moving up in weight has a better chance than a fighter coming down.

Bud is not going to run like charlo at first... he's gonna try to out box canelo and will have success, but slowly, canelo is going to keep coming and coming, and the more bud punches, the more canelo counters... Canelo isn't worried about bud power ... so canelo will let bud get his jabs in and hooks just to counter back because he knows bud won't be able to take 12 rounds of pounding...I don't see this fight going to well for bud... If these guys fight, i think Canelo has the edge because of his potential ability to expose Crawford in a way Bud has never dealt with. We don't know if Crawford can carry up the power. Canelo has never been hurt so considering that, on paper, Canelo should be able to walk down Crawford. The main reason is because of Crawford's lack of a great distance game. Crawford has never showed his ability to out box guys with his jab from distance for an easy win. Crawford fights just like Canelo. They calculate then find ways to get closer for the kill. I dont know if Bud has that skill set to keep Canelo backed up. Mayweather just outclassed Canelo in every way when they fought. His jab, his counterpunching, his defense, his close range hits and make him miss, fighting on the ropes and speed. It was a total mismatch. Bud dont have those type of skills to run circles around a guy like that for 12 rounds especially a Canelo. Bivol used his height, size jab, distance bully style and kept pushing Canelo back for 12 rounds, made it easy and exposed Canelo cause Saul wasn't on that level vs Bivol. Crawford showed vs Madrimov that he's not that guy that can use his speed, distance, jab etc to win a boring sparring session like Mayweather did for his last 10 fights and make it a total landslide easy win. What I dont understand is why so many people think Crawford is so much better than all these guys at 168 on down to where they wanna see Canelo vs Crawford so bad.
